Welcome to our roleplay contest! The Gods Thalia, Goddess of Fear, and Acanthophis, have had a most unholy breeding, and the result were six gorgeous Cubs! Cub #1, is the God of Poisonous Plants. Cub #2, is the Goddess of Nightmares. Cub #3 is the God of Betrayal, and Cub #4, is the Goddess of Suspicion! The remaining Cubs, #5 and #6, have the blood of Gods flowing through their veins, but were unfortunately not gifted with Godhood. These two are the two Cubs up for grabs! We have two Prompts here that we would like you to use, so choose wisely, and good luck! Prompts Prompt #1:"All your siblings (bar one) and parents are Gods. All those effects from their powers must take some sort of effect, how do they affect you?"Prompt #2: "What is it like being surrounded by so many Gods, and you're just normal? With Godly parents, and Godly siblings except one, how does that make you feel? Are you jealous of their powers? Do you wish you were a God? Or are you happy with how you are?"Form: Cub #:

Cub Descriptions Cub 1 – The God of Poisonous Plants (Oleander)What a strange little guy this is. He has odd growths all over and if he stays still for two long he seems to develop tiny roots that bind him to the ground and little plants and fungi start sprouting from the ground. His blood is mildly poisonous (nothing too serious) and his abilities seem to be stronger when his father is around. Thalia says his eyes are green but I don’t know if you want to trust her on that. His tail is oddly stiff and there seems to be something protruding between the tail tuft hairs. Strange… (As an adult this cub will be able to “speak” with plants, regenerate if there is rich ground under his paws, accelerate the grown of poisonous plants, thorn bushes and deadly fungi and ?)Cub 2 – Goddess of Nightmares This cub seems to be particularly strong when she is close to her mother. Like Thalia, her coat changes. It seems simpler now but something tells me it will evolve somehow. She was the most brilliant eyes of the lot and you can see a flicker of black and orange when she stirs. Any sibling who cuddles up to her at night will be sure to have a lot of restless nights. She might also be able to fly! (As an adult this cub will be able to control those who fall asleep next to her – to a certain degree of course – and she will be able cause the most frightening nightmares to those who displease her. If you really get on her bad worse side, she might even be able to create an illusion of your worst nightmare while you’re awake. I wouldn’t advise it.)Cub 3 - God of Betrayal (Soren Snake Tongue) He seems to be more powerful around one of his sisters and his eyes are black and red. No one seems to have figured out what his powers are but the fact is that everyone – especially the adults – seem to bicker and fight a lot more when they’re closer to him. He also seems to be able to pit one sibling against the other with relative ease. Again, strange… (As an adult this cub will be able to affect many lions at the same time – unlike most Gods who can only use their powers against one or a small number of lions - creating the seeds of doubt and resentment and loosening up (or downright breaking) bonds between lions who upset him. Beware! His powers might not seem all that dangerous but you do want to fight in a war against this lion or have him focus all his power on you – you really don’t. Also, his wings will be too small to fly I'm afraid)Cub 4 - Goddess of Suspicion (Ceria The Deceptive) She seems to be stronger around her yellow brother (with whom she shares the same viper tongue) and their mother. This cub is rather strange but then again, aren’t they all…? Except this one seems nicer, more easy-going and even friendly… until she worms her way into your heart. And then you’re lost. Her ears aren’t quite as point as normal Da’Lins and her horns are covered by a tuft of hair. To a lion not paying attention, she might even pass for a Zahina! Her mother says she has normal eyes and you can often see a flicker of red when you feel like you’re being watched and turn very quickly to look at her. (As an adult, she will plant doubt and fear and blinding worry into the very core of anyone who displeases her, make one paranoid and restless until he/she is no longer able to cope with reality. Her powers might be grossly underrated but that is just part of her scary potential) Cub 5 This cub is surprisingly bright – though no poison runs through his veins. Eyes are a flicker of red and black but what’s truly odd about him is his tail, rigid and unusually still. Cub 6 Like the cub before, this little guy has no distinctive power but he is still rather interesting-looking. His tail looks like a snake in the grass and his mane is of royal colors.Parents: Meet Thalia Horned One, Goddess of Fear. She is the mother of this new litter, and head Lioness in this pride. She has the power to cause unimaginable fear into all of those around here, so much so it has the possibility to drive them into complete and utter madness. She has the ability to cloak her horns and wings, and pass off as a normal Da'lin Lioness, though she prefers not to, and she can also fly. Altogether she is one tough Lioness, and she would never let any harm befall any of her cubs. She would protect them with her final breath, though that is very unlikely ever to be needed with the powers she has in her arsenal. All the female Cubs will remain in the pride, though the males have the choice to stay or leave when they are fully grown to start their own pride. (Description Forthcoming) |

Cub #: #6Cub Name: Pelo (short for 'Boipelo' meaning "proud" in Tswana.)
Owner: mistalina13
Prompt #: 2 - "What is it like being surrounded by so many Gods, and you're just normal? With Godly parents, and Godly siblings except one, how does that make you feel? Are you jealous of their powers? Do you wish you were a God? Or are you happy with how you are?"

Entry:

"So what if I am not a God like my family? Being born without any power certainly does not make me any less a Da'Lin." Pelo huffed, tail twitching. "I'm still a son of Poison and Fear and I will do my best to honor them." The snake colored male was certainly a proud, determined and fierce creature, even for his currently small stature.

There were times when he cursed his siblings, wishing they could control their gifts. From time to time they haunted his dreams or sent shivers up his spine when he thought he was alone; but he was never, ever, jealous. Pelo saw it as a challenge: he intended to make his parents proud of him, despite not being gifted with godhood.

It was a challenge he meant to face and overcome.

Cub #: 6
Cub Name: Tao 'Lin
Owner: Lord_pippa_ari
Prompt #: 2
Entry:Tao stared at his siblings with utter distain, watching their mistrife take new turns from those of the 'norms'. While he and his brother could not fly, nor talk to plants or invade and trespass the dreams of others, Tao certainly was less then impressed with what his 'godly' sisters and brothers could and did do with their powers.

His very existance was plagued night and day by those of his siblings. He was so disturbed by them that he'd taken to sleeping further away from them and his parents then he actually would have liked, but it was something he did not and would not compromise on.

He turned away from his winged and power gifted siblings to stalk toward the side of the den that was not currently so busy and active. He situated himself against the wall so that he could keep an eye on the others while looking as if he wasn't paying any attention to them. He did not hate his siblings....but the very thought of their differences made his being feel offense. He was not a god, like his mother and father, nor any of his siblings. They didn't understand why he did the things he did, and he'd never be able to understand them.

It was that understanding, something very mature and also very troubling for such a young cub, that made him avoid them. As Tao laid down against the wall, still keeping a wry eye on his family, he couldn't help but sigh. He was theirs by blood, and they were his by blood....but to Tao, short of his other 'mortal' brother....this would never be the family he yearned for.

Entry:

It all seemed normal to Thai, but then again, he was born into it. Every morning he awoke to vines creeping over his paws from his brother's sleeping, peaceful state. Nights were filled with horrors beyond anything he could fathom in consciousness when his sister had a bad day. But he was used to it, and was comforted more by his nightmares than a night without dreaming at all. To dream of horrific images meant his family was alive and thriving; to wake in the morning and struggle out of vines meant all was well with his kin. These things keep him at peace, the doubts in his mind brushed aside as mere illusions caused by his siblings.
And he wouldn't have it any other way.

			            Cub #: 5Cub Name: Zesiro
Owner: Nyowpotopop
Prompt #: 2
Entry:
The larger, male cub laughed at Zesiro as he growled in frustration. "Stupid little brat!" the older cub snapped. "You have nothing special about you. I don't care who your parents are! Look at you, you can't even seen to use your tail right!"
Zesiro lept without fear at the older cub, biting and clawing with savagery and rage. Squealing in terror the older cub ran off bleeding and Zesiro gave his best roar at the other pride cubs that had gathered to watch the argument. "Get out of here! Or I'll kill you all!"
As the others ran off, Zesiro stalked to the shade of a tree and sat down. He hated leaving his den. He hated coming outside. Yet he hated being inside more. Ever since he was born it was like this, nothing but rage. When the six were born of gods, they were expected to all be exceptional. It turned out that only four of them were. It was shortly after this discovery that Zesiro's heart had filled with anger.
While his siblings went about, proud and showing off their powers, he and his other powerless brother sat quietly back and allowed them their spotlight. Even their parents admired the god-like children more. And while his brother learned to quietly accept it and be his own person, Zesiro never had. He hated them all for what they were and what he wasn't.
Now his godly blood just made him a freak. Blue fur and a tail that wouldn't even move right, forced to take a back seat while his siblings grew plants and manipulated those around them... Even if he did try to press forward, he was simply pushed back with punishment from his siblings, enjoying their own time in the spotlight far more then they cared for their sibling. After all, they were children.
But Zesiro felt he had nothing. He snarled and slashed at the ground with his claws leaving deep gouges. Then he heard the call of his mother - back from the hunt with food. He lifted himself to his paws and hissed. He would go to her, to his family, to their nightmares and the reason his life was hell. He would go and eat and grow strong. And then when he was strong enough he would leave, seeking power of his own wherever he could get it. And when he did find it? He would find a way to repay his family's treatment of him.
