"We'd also be out fighting..." Jess sighed, instinctively holding Gwen closer. "You know I can't leave the twins for long. They need me..." And, though she didn't want to admit it, she needed them and Peter.

"Well, I'm sure they'd have other jobs than fighting." Peter rubbed the back of his neck. "I've got a job at the Ministry; that's bound to come in handy. And maybe you could stay out of it. That would be safer, wouldn't it? If it was just me?"

"You never know. We could join. Provide moral support, if nothing else." Peter scanned the letter again. "Or just me. I wouldn't mind." Ah, there was that Gryffindor in him.

Peter nodded. "Yeah. That's fine. I just wanted to let you know." He'd already more or less convinced himself that he would sign up. Jess was a separate matter entirely.

Jess nodded, gazing down at the twins for a moment with a look of curiousness and a sense of warmth that had very rarely manifested itself. She watched as Aiden kicked out in his sleep, yawning as his eyes fluttered open for a moment. Jess gave him a small smile and reached down to rub his tiny back lightly until he fell back to sleep a few seconds later.

OOC: Maybe Hermione and them could write a letter back telling them to stay out of it, that it's much too dangerous. And naturally, our heroes would defy them.
