At hearing her sigh, Luca looked over at Snow, brows knitting in worry for his friend. She was obviously upset--why couldn't he do anything right? Drawing closer, the delta opened his mouth to reassure her, though she spoke first. The question caught Luca off-guard, and he ducked his head, instinctively cowering as his first thought was of his father. There was a brief look of fear in Luca's eyes as he looked over at Snow, wondering why she asked. But, realizing this was probably just an attempt at smalltalk and she really didn't know much of his family, Luca tried to calm himself. Right, surely he could talk about his beloved, perfectly normal family!
"My... My family..." He muttered the question to himself, eyes intensely focused on the ground before them as they walked, probably no closer to escaping this dark forest. Fear began to envelop Luca again, and his pace quickened as he looked up at Snow, remembering the question. "Ah, w-well, my mother..." Another long pause, though at least now Luca seemed to calm a bit.
"...She's really quite b-beautiful," at this Luca managed a small, if not somewhat nervous smile. "And not only that, she was always k-kind, too. Never raised her v-voice to me, she protected me even..." Luca looked absolutely dreamy now, remembering his mother's gentle manner. Towards him, anyway. "She told me I take after her f-father, though I'm sure I'm, I'm nowhere near as... as lovely as her side of the family. However, my sister- my sister, Eden, she certainly inherited my mother's manner and grace. She was... always very patient with me, too."
The sad smile never left his face, "We were close as children. I felt s-safe with her. She was always so happy, it was infectious, even... And Eve..." As Luca's flimsy smile finally dropped, so too did his eyes, as he thought of his younger sister. Funny, that she was the youngest--you'd never guess, what with how large she grew, bigger than even their father. The silence stretched out, until Luca finally looked up at Snow, suddenly weary. "Oh, but enough about my, ah, my family. How about yours?"
