Chivosi had been busy lately..she was still attempting to deal with her thoughts on Galahad the charming and ever helpful male who'd recently shown up in the pack, as well as negotiate the pack through the always unstable weather this time of year brought about, not to mention the various problems of various pack members...who would have ever guessed that the little pack she and Menelau had started to shelter those without a home would have grown so large...
But then she'd never thought Mene would ever leave her either. The world was a funny place sometimes. Sadly in all of this Chiv had not found the opportunity to greet the packs newest members yet, it was something she was remiss about - bonds were important to a pack such as this - and surely a former slave from the northern pack would need a bit of help getting settled.
Though it wasn't until she had heard that he had been seen in the presence of Adonai and Terreis that Chiv had finally kicked herself into gear and put things off in order to welcome him and his children properly. Was it terrible that only the thought of the poor newcomer being caught up in family drama had spurred her on? Probably...but she'd find a way to make it up to him...
"Hello?" She called out as she reached the den of Casimir and his pups "Is anyone home?"

Cas was currently dozing, running on autopilot as the boys occupied themselves worrying a deer hide into scraps in their den - by far the most spacious thing he had ever had a claim to. A little jolt of adrenaline woke him at the sound of someone calling, and he was up on his paws in an instant, even as he registered that whoever out there calling him was certainly no Sister. Giving his head a little shake and nuzzling his sons on his way out, he peeped his head out of the den to see who was calling.
He couldn't help but duck his head just a little when he saw her - this was clearly a wolf who could handle her own business. Cas smiled endearingly, his eyes crinkling, and slid the rest of the way out of his den. "Hello there."

Chiv wasn't sure exactly what she expected to emerge, but she could hear the pups within and shortly after she called out the stirrings of a larger wolf. Would the pups cringe and cower the way Lichen and Bracken had done fearful of any female who walked near? What about they're father? Iosef in his visit hadn't seemed quite so damaged though he still had a lowly way of carrying himself about - Chiv probably wouldn't even have noticed him in the pack during the time he'd been here if she hadn't been looking for his arrival. She supposed that was likely the way most slaves in the Northern pack were.
Whatever she expected Casimir was only partially fitting, he had some handsome markings to him and a line of extra long fur along his back that would have been frightening on a more menacing beast but was simply..well adorable really on one with his endearing look and at least he only ducked hi head a little bit - it was a far cry better then cowering and shaking like Corvus' sons still did from time to time - even to Ki-adi which was really quite absurd given that Ki-adi herself had a tendency to cower and shake from time to time, dealing with the three of them together could be a trying experience as she'd come to learn.
At least Casimir seemed a little bit more self assured then that. Maybe. She gave him a warm look and flagged her tail a bit in greeting "I hope I didn't bother you and your pups" She stated apologetically "I just wanted to introduce myself and see how you were settling in" She explained sitting back on her haunches "I'm Chivosi - though most in the pack just call me Chiv, quicker to say I suppose"

Chivosi! Bells clanged out in Cas's fuzzy head, and his head turned down in deference as he finally got a face to put on his new alpha. Thank goodness she was a female, really, or he'd have yet another weird thing he was unable to deal with. Peeping shyly up, he smiled again, huddling submissively as he had done all his life, unaware of the comical look it attributed to his bulky size when taken out of context. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you," he returned, his tail tapping a friendly beat on the ground behind him. "It's no bother, the boys are just playing in the den." He bit his lips, feeling oddly giddy and unsure of what he should be saying. "It's an incredibly nice den, by the way...we were sort of ecstatic to be able to have it."

Chiv watched as Casimir suddenly seemed to realize who she was - and while she wasn't strictly opposed to the deference being shown - some respect was always good else she'd swiftly loose control of the place - she was a touch concerned that he might be afraid of her..or perhaps afraid of anering her might be the more proper phrase. It pained Chivosi to see any creature afraid of her, and firmly believed that leading with kindness was a far more rewarding method then ruling in through fear.
"Please don't cower so" She told the wolf in a kind voice "I did not come to demand such deference, I would rather be seen as friend if you would let me, though I understand if that might be to strange for you yet" she told him honestly. He seemed to be a kind wolf and she hoped he would settle in well "I'm glad that your boys are settling in well" She had been rather worried that she might end up with another Lichen and Bracken from this, not that the older wolves were bad per say..just..damaged. "And I am pleased you enjoy the den, I worry that it might become to small as your children grow, you will tell me if you feel cramped won't you?"

Casimir froze in consternation, having been reprimanded and yet told not to cower all at once - a paradox! He looked, momentarily, a little tragic, but did his best to correct his posture to a more neutral position, his ears still twisted back with embarrassment. She did seem awfully nice, though - and if she was nice even now she must be genuinely so; he tried to listen attentively and ramp his deference down at the same time. "Of course," he responded quickly, doing a comparatively good job of sounding honest when, really, he could not imagine ever asking for a larger den - by the time his boys were too big, they could and ought to make the improvements themselves. He blinked and gulped down a breath of air, though, determined to really make an effort to adapt. "I couldn't have imagined what a good place this would be to take them," he said quietly, looking at the ground. "It's...different. But seeing them able to run around here without worrying...without worrying something terrible could happen to them, without worrying I'm being a bad father for not teaching them to be more scared...makes me sure this was the right decision." He glanced shyly up at the alpha, amazed at his forthrightness, his familiarity, and yet oddly comfortable with it. So maybe it wouldn't always be difficult, staying here.

The males words made Chivs heart ache, it was saddening to think he thought himself a bad father because his sons did not cower in the presence of every female who wandered by - or more specifically their own mother, whom she had been told was also Terreis' sister.
A strange family that...and getting stranger by the day it sometimes seemed. Furthermore she was perplexed about how to make the brown wolf feel more at home - she could see that he was having troubles adapting..and she did so wish for him to feel safe and happy here, such was her desire for all of her pack members though she had come to the sad conclusion that sometimes there was nothing but time that could allow old worries and scars to heal. "It is sometimes hard to do what is right for our children" She agreed wistfully "I recall when mine were young, it was a wonderful time in my life..and yet also the cause of some sadness" She confided as her memories turned to the lot half of her family - Mene and Raiden and Tempest who were now so estranged. shaking her head lightly she gave the brown wolf a smile "But that is what being a parent is, we make the hard choices when they are young so that they don't have to until they are older. It is a great gift...to give pups the chance to be pups, with no worries and only warm thoughts for them to think" She assured him "You had friends I assume in your old pack? Others you were close to? I am sorry that you had to leave them, and I know it may be difficult for you for a time...but I do hope that you will be happy here eventually but that you were able to accept such a difficult change for you only shows your true colors all the more, you are an excellent father Casimir...have no fear about that"

It sunk in to Cas, as he listened to Chivosi speak, what a smart and sensitive wolf she was. He felt a little lowly, hearing her mention her children and her experience with parenthood with such eloquence and wisdom, as well as an intense novelty at ever having such a conversation with a female. He was soaking it up, watching her with bright eyes, when she mentioned Antianeira again, and the life he had left off to come here, and gave a little shrug, brushing off his loss. He was thinking of how to diminish its importance to her when she walloped him with that compliment - to be sure, no one had ever told Cas he did anything excellently - and he was unable to stop himself from jerking his head sharply up, which in combination with that praise made his ears redden, just visible in their fuzzy interior. "Th-that is very high praise," he stammered, ducking again, looking bashful. "I just..." he bit his lip, "just want to do right by them."
Just then, his blushing ears twitched: a little growl was emanating from the mouth of the den, shortly followed by a yelp, and a chorus of yips - presumably, one of his boys had done something morally questionable, and now all three puppies were calling for justice. Glancing from his den to the alpha, Cas smiled bashfully and made it clear, without actually moving to stand or pointing it out, that he needed to take his leave - he did think, though, that he was being quite a bit more forward about hinting that he would ever be allowed back at Antianeira. A compromise, like so many he made living here, that was easy to go unnoticed...but he was getting used to it.

Chiv's own head turned as the cries echoed from the den and she gave the new male an understanding look while she rose and shook her pelt "You'd best go and see what's gotten them upset" She told him with a smile "I'm off to check in with Lichen and Bracken. Take care Casimir and don't be afraid to tell someone if you need anything, anything at all" She assured him before casting one more amused look at the den where the pup were still howling for their father before trotting off down the pathway.
