So, I don't know if anyone else here knows about this 80's girl duo, but every time I look at their music videos, I think, 'wow, this looks proto-lolita' and yes, I realize that they also wear a lot of goth. Does anyone know of other 80's bands who's look is similar to a precursor to lolita? I love tracing styles and evolutions, and am curious if Strawberry Switchblade is just an anomaly, or part of a larger picture.
Here are my favorite videos. (I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...why they don't show up as videos so I changed them to links but if you go to those links, the videos are there. Ugh.)

Adorable interview on children's tv (in the year I was born!) And the singer keeps reminding me of Mana, well, honestly, she'd be influencing him, rather than influenced by him. But, their Glasgow accents are so cute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j331VJEi7YE
Check out the bonnets in this cover of Jolene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oxzoDWY1PM
Another interview, and the interviewer focuses on their clothing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af6TPp5-q38&NR=1
Another interview - they started out in the punk scene, apparently, so the interviewer is curious about how they got to sewing and wearing frilly 'romantic' stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8MDti3eiaw
