"How Do You Do?" _ Name: Myuri [Mew-ri]_ Origin: Her name is Thai in origin and translates to “Female Peacock.” Myuri often reflects on how perfectly her name suits her. She may be a girl, but like Peacock of the same gender she lacks the 'gilded feathers; and 'elegant plumage', so to speak. _ Gender: Female. Though Myuri finds herself being constantly mistaken for a boy... _ Age: 17_ Path: Warrior_ Allegiance: Noble_ Favorite Food: Khao niao mamuang. A dish comprised of sticky rice cooked in sweetened coconut milk and served with slices of ripe mango. "You Like What You See?" _ Hair: Myuri wears her hair in a very short, untamed style. The longest strands barely brush the midsection of her ears. She finds the cut practical and easily ignores the protests of nay-sayers who believe ladies should have long, luxurious hair. Myuri has no love for hair ornaments and leaves her tresses unadorned save a single, thin braid tied off with a jade bead that hangs to the side of the bangs that fall over her forehead. The braid the longest part of Myuri's hair, extending about an inch further than the rest. _Color: Burgundy[#900020]_ Eyes: Alert and almost always twinkling with mischeif, Myuri's almond shaped eyes are easily her most striking feature. They tend to light up when she smiles, which is often, and seem to darken when her mood is less than good, which happens not so frequently._ Color: Teal Green[#006D5B]_ Skin: Myuri has developed an even bronze tone from all her time spent roaming outdoors, broken up only by the appropriate speckles of teal green and vivid burgundy scales. _ Colors: Skin [#CD7F32] Scales [#006D5B], [#9F1D35]_ Build: Myuri is very tall for a girl, very tall and very thin. She has the look of a lean but strong boy, and she carries herself much like one in posture and behavior. Compact muscle from climing bulidings and self-taught acrobatics are obvious but not glaringly pronounced. The girl's metabolism is also lightning quick and barely allows her to keep fat, let alone gain it. Many people tell her she is too skinny, and they may very well be right. As far as curves go, Myuri is... not so gifted. No heaving bosom, and child-bearing hips for this little lady. She's keeping it real with measurements 28"-25"-30". But if there is one thing Myuri has in quantity, it's legs. The girl is all legs. All the better for her free running habits and tricks._ Clothing: [Personally, I have no huge preferences or ideas for clothing and would love to leave this up to the discretion of the artist. The only themes that are vital to Myuri's look are that the garment shouldn't be very feminine, should be easy to maneuver about in. Myuri free runs around the Imperial City, so bandages on her hands to and on her feet in place of shoes to provide grip and prevent skin tearing would probably be appropriate. Take into consideration that she is usually scaling buildings and doing back flips in the streets and you can imagine that she wouldn't want anything that could snag on something. But other than those basic themes, I'd rather see what the artist has in store.]

"Just Some Details. Important Ones."
|Personality Traits| "Bring It On" |Brave, Daring, Reckless, Undisciplined|Fear is not an emotion that is all too familiar to Myuri. This little daredevil has broken plenty of bones and gotten into plenty of scraps due to what could be considered a total disregard for consequences. If The girl has a decent pain threshold, and the certainty that nothing she can't survive will happen to her influences everything that she does. If Myuri is being faced down by a seven foot tall, four hundred pound, scar covered, "oh god run away right now" sort of individual she will look them right in the eye undaunted, matching every glare, insult, and every punch she can manage. Myuri also fails to consider the ultimate consequence of death, mostly because she simply doesn't think about it. She's never been in a situation that would instill her with a proper fear and respect for death, so it's severity is lost on her.
Because of her fearless nature Myuri is quick to stand up for nearly anyone. If a handful of hooligans are roughing someone up whom she has never met before she will be quick to intervene. Being fairly resourceful, the girl can get herself out of most of the messes she gets herself dragged into. Sometimes she isn't so lucky though. See if that will keep her from doing something again. (It won't) "Cry Me A River..." |Emotionally Resolute, Unsympathetic, Reluctant to Talk About Feelings| An easy smirk almost always adorns Myuri's face, and a bounce usually accompanies her step. She doesn't dwell on sorrows and has a remarkable emotional recovery rate. The way she deals with negative feelings is by telling them to hit the road. It's just that simple for her. To some people, this trait may make Myuri seem unrelatable, maybe even distant, but just because she isn't crying with you doesn't mean she isn't emotionally invested in your situation. She cares, she just doesn't understand why you are crying when you should be fixing your problem. Obviously there are some complications that go with being so emotionally grounded. Myuri has difficulty tolerating people who always seem like they are angry or down in the dumps. She is quick to label someone as a 'whiner' and has difficutly understanding why her usual advice to “Cheer up and get over it” doesn't always work. Thus, she can have difficulty relating to other Lunarians at times, especially ones who are prone to complaining and fits of depression. If you can't change something, don't dwell on it and if you can, quit talking and go do it.
Of course not feeling any sadness is impossible, inhuman even, and at times it comes knocking on even Myuri's door. When her usual tactic of brushing it off doesn't work, Myuri does her best to pretend she's perfectly fine. Forcing a smile and bottling it up, she goes on with her life until everything heals over or she forgets about it. This isn't the healthiest approach to dealing with turmoil though and sometimes Myuri will get irritable and mopey without realizing it. If asked what's wrong "Nothing" will always be the answer. She would never want anyone to see her hurting, weak or (Goddess forbid) crying. Getting her to open up and talk about her feelings is a feat in itself. "Lookin' Good... Right?" |Secret Romantic, A Little Self Conscious, Still Confident Enough| Myuri is fully aware that people who simply catch a glimpse of her on the streets will most likely assume that she is a boy, and she doesn't care. Sure she lacks the curves that most men desire and most women covet, and of course her height and lean physique lend her masculine traits rather than femminine, but Myuri has no qualms with her appearance. Aside from good hygene and decent presentability, she doesn't care one bit about her appearance! Not at all!... Well, that's not entirely true. Myrui likes the way she looks and has no significant lack in self esteem, but in the back of her mind she is haunted by the fear that due to her androgynous appearance no one will ever want her. Yes, deep down our little Myuri is a true romantic who dreams of falling in love and living happily ever after. Of course, getting her to admit that is unlikely. Women are supposed to be pretty, effeminate, and beguiling. Myuri doesn't view herself as any of those things. But surely someone will want her, just the way she is. Right?
Being the sort of girl who doesn't usually wrestle with fear or anxiety, Myuri deals with this issue the same way she deals with most things. By challenging and defying it. She will behave exactly how she feels like, dress exactly how she wants to and to hell with anyone who doesn't like how she looks. Still, as cheesy as Myuri finds it, she trutly wants someone who will look at her—short hair, lacking figure and all—and tell her she is beautiful. "Loud and Proud" |Prideful, Competitive, Stubborn|Myuri has a bit of a pride issue. And a bit here meaning a very large, somewhat problematic, outstanding pride issue. She is known to boast of her talents and make challenges frequently, no matter the contest or subject of interest. Though most of the time she matches her braggings accordingly, sometimes her words overstep her abilities. Myuri will argue a point to the death. No matter how much the odds may seem in her opponents favor, she will not be the bigger person, she will not back down, and she will not shut up until the other person gives up. Defeat and being proven wrong are two of the most humiliating things that can happen to Myuri and she will do almost anything to save face. Getting her to admit that someone else is right is about as likely to happen as getting her to fetch the moon. "Through Thick And Thin" |Loyal, Trustworthy, Forgiving|If someone is able to stick with Myuri through her pride and reckless behaviors, they'll find a life long friend in her. When you've earned Myuri's respect, trust, and love you've earned someone who will side with you no matter how wrong you are, stand up for you no matter how fierce your enemies are, forgive you no matter how deeply you've hurt her, and if all other alternatives are exhausted, even die for you. Of course she won't throw her favor in just anyone's direction. If someone wants to make Myuri's list they have to prove through actions, not words, that they are worth it. She doesn't really treat anyone who ins't a true friend badly or with suspicion though, and it's not like she wouldn't come to your defense even if you weren't the closest of friends, but when you gain her full affection you will know. For one thing, Myuri's usual indignity over losing an argument or contest is significantly lessened. And she will always be willing to listen to your problems until you feel better. These are easily the biggest befits of having Myuri listed as a friend. "Stuff I Like To Do"
|Hobbies| Acrobatics/Free Running Since she was a little girl, Myuri loved to climb on things. She was constantly being retrieved from tall trees and stone walls, but as the years went on even scolding didn't stop her from scaling everything in sight. Finally her uncle simply resigned to letting her do as she pleased, hoping a few broken bones would teach her a lesson. The broken bones happened, but no lessons were learned from them. Eventually she got to a point where falling was unthinkable, even for those who had protested her habits in the first place. Rooftops became a second home to her, and navigating them became as easy as walking. Being sort of a show off, Myuri learned to add some flair to her movements. From flips, to corkscrews, she does her best to make everything look as dangerous and extreme as it possibly can. She'll do flips in the streets, just because. This art has given Myuri a very masterful knowledge of what her body is capable of, and a blatant desire to push those capabilities to breaking points. This provides her with incredible balance, flexibility, and an understanding of how she can move. She knows how to properly break a fall from a significant height without getting injured, how to maneuver out of the way of a punch, how to deliver a blow in the most unexpected way, and she also can walk on her hands basically non-stop. (Pretty cool huh?) Her hobby of running around like a monkey heavily influences her basic movements and even her fighting style. Myuri is quick as flash, super resourceful, and able to utilize her environment to the fullest of her advantage. Any fight with good vaulting surfaces is usually in her favor, where as an open field would be decidedly not. This hobby has also made Myuri adept at moving quietly. Neighbors don't particularly enjoy the pitter-patter of feet on their roofs. Calligraphy If you take a first glance at Myuri you'll see her androgynous appearance. However, upon closer inspection you may notice her wrists. Aside from the obvious biological markers, Myuri's wrists are one of her most feminine features. They are thin and graceful, excellent for applying beautiful brushstrokes to paper. It seems like a past time as refined and posh as calligraphy wouldn't be something that Myuri would take interest in. However, since she knows nothing of makeup, or clothing, or any other more "womanly" endeavors, calligraphy is one of the few activities that makes Myuri feel feminine. Her chosen fine art isn't something she flaunts, because it is so uncharacteristic she is a little shy about it honesly, but she doesn't go out of her way to hide it either. There are several scrolls with her handiwork adorning her room and often she will make ones for friends on special occasions. She takes pride in her handiwork. "Fun Facts"
|Likes/Dislikes+Misc.| Likes Myuri enjoys taking part in sports and physical activity and can often be found climbing trees or leaping from rooftop to rooftop throughout the Imperial City. Somtetimes leaping around like a monkey can get her in a spot of trouble, so the Ichi-Koi Inn and Bar is one of her favorite locations to lie low until the coast is clear to climb around again. When done in the company of friends, new or old, Myuri takes even more delight in running around the city, especially if it's turned into a game. A very competitive spirit rings true in Myuri, though not good sportsmanship as she detests losing. The only exception to this is when it comes to close friends and children. She'll allow children to win whatever game they are playing. Myuri adores kid's innocent smiles and often mischievous behaviors and has become something of a favorite among the local youngsters. She is more than happy to let them climb on her, pull on her sleeves, and beg for attention. It is something Myuri never tires of. Dislikes Myuri's mood goes sour when she is faced with a defeat. Even if it is in something simple and tedious, like getting through a doorway first, she will most likely make a contest out of it and Goddess help you if you beat her. Taking a victory from Myuri often results in demands for rematches, accusations of cheating, bickering, and fuming silence. Usually only for an hour or so though, she isn't one to hold a lasting grudge. (That is, unless you gloat or bring it up repeatedly. Then you can expect physical retaliation and a more permanent anger.) Speaking of anger, this girl has a bone to pick with pretty dresses and girly frills. She's heard several jests in her lifetime that maybe if she dressed like a girl, she'd start to look like one. This is an outright lie according to Myuri. She feels that feminine clothing just makes her look like a boy in girl's clothing, like she is trying too hard. Despite the front she puts up, Myuri is a little touchy about people mocking her androgynous apperance and mostly shapeless figure. Not that she dislikes her apperance, but she hates it when people treat her like she out to be ashamed of it. She'll pretend to laugh along when jokes are made centering around her boyish build, but inside she's thinking of the best way to throw you off a building and make it look like an accident. Lightweight: It really doesn't take much to get Myuri drunk. Despite her boasting and tough act, give her a few good drinks and she's under the table. Because of this she tries not to drink publicly very often. It's a little embarrassing... Non Religious It's not that she doesn't believe, Myuri just isn't incredibly devout. A religious debate is one of the few arguments that she will happily stay out of.

มยุรี "Stand For Something. Or You'll Fall For Nothing." Sides With Nobles Reason Myuri's political views are extremely radical, and the Nobles offer the closest thing to what she holds in ideal. She believes that giving the power of a nation to a single man to be passed down to his descendants is preposterous. The people should be able to choose their leaders, and get rid of them when they no longer do their job properly. (So basically, she's like an ancient-times democracy supporter. SHE LIKED IT BEFORE IT WAS COOL) If the people are not content with their Emperor, then he is obviously not doing his job correctly and should be replaced. Myuri's also a bit of a rebel at heart and finds it natural to side with the ones stirring up the most trouble. She likes controversy. Attitude Towards Leigon War may be war, but Myuri holds no particular grudge against members of the Leigon. She labels them as old fashioned and conservative, and wishes they would see that sticking with the times is no way to make progress, but she is only Noble based on an ideal of her own. She won't judge someone for choosing a side for the same reason. "Lay Down The Hurt" |Fighting Style Details| Academy Student: At this point in her life Myuri relies mostly on her agility and acrobatic skills to give her the advantage in a fight, (Think Ty Lee from Avatar the Last Air Bender.) but due to her above average stature and the strength benefits earned through free running, she can still hold her own in a hand-to-hand combat situation as well. That is as long as the opponent is of relatively equal or lesser strength. Faced with someone of significantly greater muscle mass, or someone with a sword for that matter, Myuri might be in trouble. She is highly interested in seal forming magic, and vows to learn it. The idea of teleportation is too tantalizing for Myuri to ignore. Fighter: Upon claiming the title of fighter, Myrui would adopt the weapons known as shuko. Used in the ancient art of Ninjutsu, shuko assist in the act of climbing and the metal bands that wrap around the palms and wrists are excellent for blocking blades and delivering hard-hitting blows. The weapon has downward curving hooks across the palm-band that are extremely sharp and capable of rending flesh with ease. Myuri also employs the use of throwing spikes. These spikes are about the size of a dart and stored in a special satchel that wraps around her forearms for easy access. She is still learning to use them for the most part, but they are useful for ranged attacks. Myri is also learning to develop her seal forming magic at this point, but is still at a disadvantage when against an enemy who wields a melee weapon with a range that can keep her at arms length.
Captain: At this stage Myuri has become far more familiar with all of her weapons. Her shuko have practically become an extension of herself and are now equipped with hand blades for maximum damage. (Yeah, I know the weapon the pic looks cheesy, but it was the best example I could find.) Her throwing spikes are much larger now as well, about the length of her hand from the tip of her middle finger to the base of her palm. With proper technique they can now be aimed to hit vitals and thrown with enough force to lodge in bone. She can also deploy them for foot/hand holds if needed. Her agility is unprecedented, allowing her to leap and twirl away from enemy attacks with ease. Her seal forming magic also lends even more to her ability to cheat her way out of blows and dance around her opponent and their weapons. Fighting Myuri at this point, is like fighting the wind. Tenryujin: When this stage hits Myuri discards her beloved shuko and throwing spikes and fights with her new natural weapons: which take the form of claws, retractable forearm spikes, and a tail. Her claws and spikes are obviously similar enough to the weapon style she is familiar with so the adjustment would be minuscule, and her seal forming magic now allows Myuri to get up close and personal with her enemy without warning so the throwing spikes are rendered superfluous. The tail is a new addition, but one that is perfectly suited to her. It is a prehensile tail, basically providing her with another limb that can be used for gripping, climbing, and even attacking. Due to the advantage this provides, her tail has no spikes or otherwise offensive benefits. Regardless, Myuri is now a stand alone weapon, and one to be reckoned with at that.

"The Gene Pool" Lamai [Deceased] Myuri's mother. She was known to be a very kind and an almost ethereally beautiful woman. Lamai was masterful in the art of medicinal herbs and owned an apothecary while she lived in the Imperial City. She left the City to marry her husband and live with him in his small fishing village, against her family's wishes. Sakda [Deceased] Myuri's father. According to what Myuri has been told he was a giant of a man, hardened by by the trials of the sea, but gentle. Before he married Lamai he supported his sickly mother on his own. He worked grueling hours, fishing and taking his catch to market in the Imperial City for greater profit. When he had the money for it, Sakda would go to Lamai's apothacry to buy medicine for his mother. Myuri's mother fell in love with the strong, quiet man and eventually began to give him medicine for free. Before long, she was making trips out to Sakda's villiage to help him tend to his mother while he worked. When Sakda's mother passed on and Lamai had no reason to stay any longer Sakda realized that he wanted her by his side regardless. He proposed and Lamai moved to the village permanently. Kiet Myuri's uncle and brother to Lamai. After Myuri's parent's dissapeared, Kiet took her in and raised her as his own. He was Lamai's younger brother and by far the most supportive of her decision to marry Sakda. Kiet is a soft spoken man, but a very sucsessful merchant and an excellent father figure. Myuri was raised with plenty of love and nurturing. He is unmarried, though many women find him very handsome and, due to his money, very eligible. Myuri suspects he doesn't find the company of women to his liking, but she keeps her speculations to herself for fear of embarassing him. Lek Myuri's closest companion is a baby Spider Monkey which she has named Lek. This translates loosely from Thai to "little one" or "little brother." The little fellow was a gift from her Uncle and can usually be found hanging from her arm or neck. He is a very adept climber and often accompanies Myuri on her rooftop adventures. [x] "So, What's Your Story?" Myuri's parents would often leave her with Kiet when they needed to make long fishing extursions. One of these times however, they simply did not return. Their dissapearance left the villiagers and Kiet baffled. There had been no storms, there was no sign of pirates in the area. The eldest woman of the villiage blamed the great dragon-fish of ledgend, saying that it must have gobbled up their boat. At first Kiet found the theory preposterous, but later he began to question what else could have possibly caused his sister and brother-in-law to dissapear. Myuri was barley over a year old when her parents went out to sea for the last time, so she doesn't remember them much. She doesn't dwell on not having parents, her uncle is perfectly adequate in her eyes. Of course, she is confused as to how they died and sometimes wonders if they sailed far away to abandon her. She has never spoken this fear aloud though. Not even to Kiet.

First of all, let me state that I love this concept and that I apologize for the time it has taken for you to finally get a crit.
I think that Myuri's personality is great and well-structured-- I like how she hides her emotions and how she's such a hopeless romantic on the inside. That's very endearing. It definitely all fits in with her name!
I do have a few questions, however. For one, about how often does she escape compared to how often she gets in trouble for her recklessness? Is something like a black eye or a bruise here or there pretty normal?
Also, when she matures are you planning on making her more feminine in certain ways? This is mainly out of curiosity, since I don't think LoL has seen many downright tomboys yet. C: It's very refreshing.
Over all, I think you have an extremely strong foundation here and it's definitely very original! If you need me to clarify anything, I encourage you to send me an IM through AIM where my SN is Kayasei813. I really can't see many flaws with this quest, though, and kudos for the very polished graphics and grammar as well. <3

Oh, it's no trouble. I understand that there are several other Quests waiting for approval and that LoL members are busy. I'm just glad to some feedback so I can develop Myuri more fully until she gets her own stamp of approval. c:
Thank you so much for your kind words. I had a lot of fun putting her character together, and it makes me so happy to know she is decently structured and interesting. >w<
Well, I figured that the segment the "Bring it on" section of her personality- "This little daredevil has broken plenty of bones and gotten into plenty of scraps due to what could be considered a total disregard for consequences."- would have indicated that she was used to taking damage. So no, a black eye wouldn't be too out of the ordinary for her. She would nearly always be marked with bruises and cuts, or at evidence of their healing at the very least. Myuri likes to rough house and do stupid slightly dangerous things, so she'd be used to it.
No, I was planning on keeping her relatively androgynous in both appearance and personality. She'll become more comfortable with herself and her appearance, maybe even fill out a teeny bit more as she ages, but she'll never really be all that feminine.
Once again, thank you very much. I'm glad something I enjoyed so much is also of relative quality. It means a lot to know that you enjoyed the concept and found it unique. I'll be sure to contact you if I have any questions. c:

Hello everyone, still lurking over here. Sorry for my absence, starting college was hell.
Anyway, I'm currently working on adding more details into her family tree.... like a last name... And grandparents or something. But yeah, I'll try to be around more now that I have more free time. c:
