One very hot summer day, Cheshire decides that he should probably seek some source of water to cool off in, though it's not his only reason for venturing to the Meadow Lake. He is actually more so hoping to find Emilias, the source of all that makes him happy.
Barely any time goes by when he is separated from Emilias that she does not enter his mind. If Cheshire could do anything other than grin I don't think he would choose to at this point.
Now in his daydream of finding Emilias here he ends up walking straight into the lake, only snapping out of his minor daze after the water gets up to his knees. He shakes off his distraction and looks around for Emilias, knowing that she is probably invisible and his visual search is futile.
In an effort to get her attention if she is in the area, Cheshire sends up a plume of mist, announcing his presence.

Emilias smiled from her hiding spot near the meadow, her face flushing. Cheshire's emotions were all too obvious to her sensitive empathetic abilities. And she felt the same way. Someone with a similar ability to hide, who was patient and kind enough to wait for her to be comfortable, not pressuring her to show herself.
She saw him shoot off a ton of mist and decided she should go over to him. Emilias stepped into the water, still invisible, but clearly sending ripples out. She shyly stopped bending the light around her, revealing herself.
"Hello Cheshire," Emilias said, smiling happily. She missed him.

As soon as Emilias reveals herself his mist begins to dissipate and he leaps over to her as if he were a yearling again and touches his nose to hers and nuzzles her affectionately, his emotions overflowing with unconditional love, affection, and happiness.
"Emmy! Oh how I've missed you. I hope you've been well. I've been well, other than missing you." he says excitedly, barely putting spaces in his words, "What have you been up to? I have been trying to escape the heat. It is rather terrible this year. I pretty much need to stay near water to use my water stuff..."
He silences himself suddenly, realizing that he hasn't given her a chance to talk. Sheepishly, he sinks down to his knees with his ears back feeling kinda silly. "Er, sorry..." he mumbles from his weird position.

Emilias gives a small, suprised step back when he suddenly nuzzles her. Not that she minded! She was just a bit off-guard. She nuzzled him back, smiling.
"It's fine Chesh..." She giggled. "I've missed you too. I like to explore and watch others when I'm not here... or with you. Or here with you." Emilias leaned down and gave another nuzzle to Cheshire. "It has been really hot... I guess I'm glad my stealth is based on bending light."

If Cheshire's grin could possibly get any bigger it would. He is so very happy that Emilias feels this way about him, especially since he views himself as so strange. Well, especially that so many herla see him as such, really.
"Mine works the same way, but I rely on water mola-whatsits to deflect it... Too much heat is no more water for me..." he looks down at the water, back up to Emilias, and then promptly splashes his whole body into the water, playfully slapping his delta tail in the water to splash his Emmy. Nothing but Chesh's head is above water, but strangely everything below water is completely invisible.
"But this is much much much better... Nice and cool... And I have Emmy. It's hard to beat that." he says while positively beaming from his position in the water, "Come into the water. It feels fantastiiiiic!"

Emilias smiled brightly. This reminded her of something she and Emilos would do together. She missed her brother, but she knew she'd see him again someday so she wouldn't sulk anymore. Not when she had other people in her life to make her smile.
She giggled at the water splash, and waded into the water, using her wings to flick water back at Chesh. "It is really nice!" She nosed at Chesh's face. "And I have you too..." she blushed and went invisible, though her position was still clear from the ripples of the water.

Cheshire uses his long delta tail to splash a rather impressive wave of water towards Emmy's void in the water while chuckling at her splashes. He nuzzles where he thinks she would be and whispers playfully, "I can still seeeeeee youuuuuu." and promptly envelops her in a light mist-fog.
Playfully, then grinning blue hart pronks backwards once and then dives into the water, nothing seen of him other than the mud swirling at the bottom of the lake with his movements. Being invisible when surrounded by water makes it difficult to show off your extreme swimming abilities, he thinks to himself. In a quick decision he propels himself straight up using his tail. With seemingly little effort he bursts out of the shallow water and nimbly lands on the bank... Except not so nimbly as his hooves do not track well in the wet sandy mud and he topples onto his side, laughing the whole way.
