Wednesday January 14th, 2015:
Dear Journal,
The city has been lost to us...The demons have prevailed and the castle has been completed. Soon they will have harvested all the souls they need to finish their ultimate weapon and humanity will soon be eradicated. Mankind's final hope lies in my sibling and I's hands. If we can somehow slip into our old city undetected, and destroy the weapon before the full moon has risen then mankind may live to fight another day. Even if we succeed, I have little doubt that we will not survive...This will be my last entry. God help us all...

Plot

Basically, City Under Siege is centered around two siblings. One is my character and the other, his brother or sister (depending on who chooses to play the character). They have realized their childhood dream, and have opened up a part-time detective agency. One day a client comes in with a complaint that for the past few nights someone has been prowling around outside their house. That's what I know for now. How the two siblings go from that case to their city being controlled by demons in just a few short years, is up to all to find out wink

(I'll begin with a very basic post, and then we'll see where it goes from there biggrin )

Thursday July 7th, 2011:
Josh walked through the heavy crowds at the business district of his hometown city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had had a long day putting in electricity at local homes and was ready to unwind with his favorite hobby. He stopped at a small building nestled amongst the much larger ones and tried the door. He found it unlocked. His "hobby" was actually a little business he and his sibling had started. All their lives they had played "cops and robbers" and now, after completing all the necassary courses and getting the right licenses; they had started their own small P.I. firm. He hollared out to his sibling as he walked through the door to their little office, knowing from the unlocked door that they must already be there. "Knock knock! Anybody home?"

Naomi had been in the middle of straightening up the office when she had caught a glimpse of the time. It was 10 minutes to 6:00 pm, and that meant that her elder brother Joshua would be arriving at their firm any minute now; she smiled. Naomi had always enjoyed playing practical jokes on her sibling when they were growning up, and even now, as a full grown woman, that hadn't changed. Naomi stopped what she was doing and very slightly unscrewed the light bulb in the main ceiling fan of the office, just enough so that when he flipped on the switch it wouldn't come on. She picked up the letter opener that she kept at her desk and waited, hidden in the darkness, for her brother to arrive. "This outta scare the hell out of him," she said, a wide grin stretching along her face. Soon Naomi heard the door open, and her brother call out; she continued to wait and watch, hoping that Josh would fall for her little joke.

Josh flicked the light switch next to the front door, and frowned as nothing happened. He called again to his sister and waited for a moment without answer. He bit his lip in distress and quietly continued to walk into his office. Even though there was still plenty of daylight outside, Josh's eyes hadn't adjusted to the dark so it was fairly hard to see. Sis I hope it's you in here... he thought to himself. He went to his desk and reached just under it to the gun holster it hid. After a moment he pulled out the .44 Smith & Wesson Model 29 revoler; his "Dirty Harry" gun, as he called it. Once it was in his grasp, he preceded to search the office. "If this is some kinda joke sis, you better say something now..."

Vee’s eyelids twitched before slowly opening, followed by her quickly sitting up and frantically looking around with a fearful expression on her face. She swallowed hard as she realized where she was and calmed down; her hand going up so that her head could rest in it. “It was just a dream,” she stated quietly to comfort herself as she lowered her hand and looked around the room from where she sat on the floor. She was down in the basement, the place where she kept in touch with her sorcery. There was a circle of ruins on the floor that no longer glowed; her crystal ball sitting on a pedestal in the middle. Then there were the short, thick, dark purple, black cherry smelling candles that sat on individual tall stands. She had wanted ten, but so far only had seven. Finally, there was the wooden table in the far corner that had a few powders and potions on it. What wasn’t on the table was stored in the cabinet above the table. She remembered now…kind of. She had been trying to do something that had obviously gone wrong, though what that thing was still escaped her.

After blowing out the candles, she made her way up to the main part of the house and secured the basement door before walking into the living room and peeking through the closed blinds. Her eyes went wide at seeing a lone figure walking past her house and she backed away from the window to sit on the floor. The room was fully furnished with couches and what not, but sitting on the floor made her feel less noticeable. “Why is he still out there,” she said aloud as she brought her knees up to her chest and encircled them with her arms. Thoughts raced through her head for a moment before she suddenly stood up and made her way into the master bedroom. She changed out of her cloak and into more street appropriate clothing before going back to the living room to look through the blinds again. Seeing no one outside, she made her way out of the house and locked the door behind her.

Hidden just out of view, Naomi watched her brother's actions with amusement. Josh had always been the hot-headed one of the two of them (though in truth, she wasn't too far behind him), and she wasn't at all surprised to see him pull out his gun first thing. The site of him stalking around in the semi-darkness, was too much for her and she began to giggle. It wasn't loud, but it was enough for Josh to notice, and the next moment he had whipped around towards the sorce of the snickering; gun thrust out in his hands. As he cocked the gun, Naomi quickly stopped laughing and spoke up. "Hey, hey, hey! Don't shoot! Don't shoot! It's me bro." She stepped out of the dark corner she had been inhabiting, and stuck her tongue out towards him. She could tell from the look on his face that wasn't amused. "You really need to lighten up Josh. Being so serious all the time'll kill ya!" she told him as she screwed the main ceiling fan's light bulb back in.

Josh grunted angerly at his younger sister and pulled his gun back; pushing down the safety so that it couldn't shoot against his will. "That's real cute Naomi. What if I had decided to shoot first and ask questions later huh?" He walked back over to his desk, as Naomi re-insurted the light bulb into its socket, and put his weapon back in the concealed holster. "Before you go about telling me to lighten up, maybe you should try growing up a little." Josh could have ranted on and on in this manner had he not decided to hold his tongue then and there. Sometimes Naomi really could piss him off a great deal, but for the most part she was a good partner and an even better friend. Josh walked from his desk and opened up the blinds on the small ofice's windows. He then flipped over the liittle closed sign he had set up in one of the windows, switching it from "closed" to "open".

"You didn't happen to check our answering machine did you?" Josh asked as he sat down at his desk. He clicked a button on the phone that was set up at his desk and a mechanical voice informed him that he had no new messages. Josh sighed. "Business is still as slow as usual it seems." Josh fumbled one of his desk's drawers and pulled out a small bottle of "Wild Turkey". He propped his boots up on his desk and took a quick swig, letting the fire run down his throat and into his belly. "Honestly I don't even know why you bother coming in any more Naomi. We haven't had a case in months, and you know that I'll call you the second we do." Josh rubbed his temples; a small part of him still came in every day feeling that that day was going to be the day when a client walked in through the door.

Vee walked down the street with her hands in the pocket of her blue jeans. She wore a black fitted tee shirt with orange words on it which read ‘talk nerdy to me’ with a picture of a candy nerd with glasses on under it. Her sneakers were stripped in black and white, making grey where the lines crossed. She was a bit paranoid as she walked, her eyes mainly on the ground as she glanced up here and there so that she wouldn’t run into anyone. Having spent the majority of the time in her house, she wasn’t sure how to act around others. Not to mention, she just wasn’t used to there being any others. One would think this would make her excited, but she just couldn’t push aside the strange feeling.

Eventually she came upon her destination, a small building in the midst of much larger ones. She simply looked at the door for a moment before taking a hand out of her pocket and opening the door just enough to where she could look in. The place didn’t seem to be that occupied so she went ahead and entered, closing the door behind her as she stood directly in front of it. She looked at the guy and girl in the room as her heart raced and she forced herself to say something. “H-hi,” she quietly stated as her eyes automatically found the floor, but she forced herself to look up and even take a couple of steps into the room. “I’m sorry to bother you but, I need some help.” Everything about her face said that she was scared they would turn her away.

Naomi half listened to Josh's rant, she retrieved the feather duster they kept in their office and began tiding up a bit. By this point in her life, she didn't mind her elder brother's long winded rants; she knew it just meant he cared. When Josh asked her about the phone she shook her head and continued to straighten up the room. Naomi frowned as Josh took out the whiskey from his desk; it wasn't even 7 pm yet and already he was drinking! She couldn't blame him though; even though he tried not to show it, she knew how disapointed he was that his business was going through a rough patch. Of course she had put a good deal of work into the detective agency too, but not nearly as much as he had; this work meant everything to him. "I come in because this is my business just as much as it is your's mister. You think I'm gonna miss it when someone finally does come in?" she answered playfully. It was at this moment, that the little bell attached to their front door ringed, and a pale skinned young woman entered.

Naomi's eyes widened with excitement and she dropped her feather duster. At times she could come off a little strong, and right now was about to become one of those times. She rushed over to the girl and eagerly shook her hand. "Good evening mamn! What's your problem?" Naomi looked over to her brother and smiled cheerfully. "How about you have a seat and we'll get some paperwork ready?" she motioned to the chair in front of Josh's desk and then left the room to go to the small storage office in the back of the building.
