User ImageThe day was still fairly early but Tsu had already gotten much done. A few hares fed Achal and the others, as well as what their daughters caught. The den was clean of any debris and she even stopped in on her children who had their own pads, and in the case of Namir, his own den. Now the day was her own, at least until the noon sun started to set and hunting would be optimal in the cooler air of the late afternoon.

Tired in a well fulfilled way, Tsu made her way down to the lake side. There she could rest in the relative coolness of the trees or lounge in the water if and when she chose too. Once there she found a nice tree with plenty of shade and stretched out. As her body relaxed she sank slowly into a dozing slumber. Carrying cubs was more tiring then she remembered, was the last conscious thought she had before she slipped into true sleep.

Yessenia was well aware that Banu Mitra detested her. Or at the very least, disliked her. Maybe it had something to do with the way that she openly spat at her father's newest Banu or called her stories boring.

So, it came as no surprise that when the pair made their way to the populated lake side, the two sought company else where. Mitra with her sociable friends, and Yessenia with herself. The chubbier Banu wobbled around the lake, aware of Mitra's ever watchful eyes. She put one paw in front of the other, weaving in and out of the water with a little giggle. It was so cold! And it- Ooh!

Yessenia's caught sight of a sleeping lioness, but that wasn't enough to hold her attention. Not after she caught sight of her feathers. Carefully, Yessenia thumped closer, finding her courage only as the lioness slept to stare at them.

Tsubame drifted in and out of sleep for a little bit before she felt like she was being watched. Was Achal back? Was it one of the cubs, well really adults but to her they would always be cubs. She cracked an eye and to her surprise the small pink cub standing there was not looking at her but at the feathers that she had as decoration, and reminders.

Not wanting to startle the young banu Tsu shifted a bit and yawned before fully opening her eyes and saying softly, "Hello little one. Is there something you want or are you just interested in my feathers?" Her voice was full of amusement and kindness. She remembered how her own sons, at that age, were more interested in things like feathers, bugs, rocks, and other little things they could play with.

Yessenia's sharp gaze zipped down to Tsubame. She hurriedly backed away from the larger female, and tripped over her back paw, effectively cutting off her escape by flopping her body down to sit. "Why do you have feathers like that? They're pretty." As startled as she was, Yessenia was bold. Especially when she wasn't in trouble. "Can I have them? They'll match, see?" She turned, showing Tsubame her wings.

Yessenia turned back to the older banu skeptically. Banu Mitra should have been like her. Older, like papa and mama, and less stupid. Less stupid, mean, and ugly.

Tsubame smiled and stifled her laughter, she didn't want the little cub to think she was laughing at her and not at her antics. "They are a reminder of someone who told me something very important." She hummed appreciatively when the young banu showed her markings. "They would match but these feathers are special to me. What you need are some feathers that are special to you." She thought about how she got her feathers and the memories that came along with it. It was not the first time she had met a god but it was the first time that she got a chance to see the 'powers' happen. She learned about her history that she never knew and felt her sense of self shift as well.

She smiled softly, withdrawing away from her own thoughts, "My name is Beybanu Tsubame. Pad Achal is my mate."

"Special to me?" Yessenia questioned. "But I don't have any that are special to me. Would you mind helping me get some?" If she could have some feathers like that, then maybe she would look better in the eyes of the Pride. After all, it wasn't like she hadn't heard all the sneers and jabs behind her back. Even at her tender age, Yessenia knew when someone was making fun of her.

Yessenia flopped down beside Tsubame, with her pudgy belly rolling out over her little leg as she sat propped up against the shade tree. "My name's Yessenia." She admitted, then with a little more pride, "Banu Yessenia. My papa is Pad Kame'bufuu." The young cub loved her father, and it showed. He protected their little family from whatever came their way, and she didn't ever want to think about a day when he would change.

"Why are you sleeping, Bey Tsu? I thought this was huntin' time?"

Tsu smiled at Yessenia, "I would be happy to help you find some feathers but maybe it might be best to wait until later." Tsu shrugged and with true feeling apologized, "Sorry Yessenia, I am just tired right now and to be honest searching for feathers or really any other items should be something special for you alone. They don't have to be from the event or thing that you wanted to remember but rather something that helps you remember that thing or place."

"It is nice to meet you Yessenia." Tsu tried to remember if she had ever heard of a Pad named Kame'bufuu but so many had been joining, or bringing back others that Tsu could not recall the name. Instead she focused on the young banu's questions. "I was resting because I was tired, that some times happens when a banu is carrying cubs dear. And as too if it is hunting time, it is but I find that it is better hunting early in the morning or later in the afternoon when its not so hot." Her smile was wide and friendly. She couldn't wait to see what this cub would ask next.

"You're having cubs?" Yessenia squeaked, a mixture of horror and surprise lighting up her face. Being part of her father's youngest litter, she hadn't yet had experience with cubs younger than herself or even a pregnant banu, for that matter. The concept of Tsubame carrying cubs had her craning her neck to get a better look at the older female's stomach. "Why would you want to be big? That just sounds stupid." She shook her head. Yessenia was already starting to see how others saw her larger size as something to ridicule instead of cherish. "But I'm happy, though. Maybe they'll be friends with me."

Yessenia stood tall and proud, her chubby cheeks puffing out around sharp violet eyes. "You get lots a'rest, kay? That way you don't get too tired before your cubbies are born. You don't wanna leave'em alone, ya know?"
