Let's see... first and foremost,
welcome to the shop! I hope you don't feel scared off. I reckon you're not used to the B/C section of the forums for RP, so you may not be used to some of the things here.
The first thing I should probably cover is the fact that all characters that are played within the guild (with the exception of event disposables and youma) come with their own art that was brought or obtained in some way from the shop artists. The characters that are in play go through a screening process by a set of shop game masters or moderators. All the quests go
here and follow a shop specific character sheet. The forum previously linked to you, called the Application Quest forum, has many links you may find to be a valuable read if you wish to pursue a character to play here. I would recommend reading them all, as well as either several quests or several character profiles, to get a feel of what sort of characters are accepted. This being said, you will not be able to just RP a character you already have without converting that character into a character written up following the character sheet the shop uses.
Do not fear though, character slots are very open! I believe there is Quest Fairying (which is where good quests get picked up for free by an artist), and there is also very frequent custom slots that become available to the public as well as the very rare auction and bribe, and raffles with larger queues of character bases to choose from. You can find these usually in the guild, but they're almost always announced in the main thread too.
Next up,
there are female knights available in the shop and they're called Knights. Gender specifications are quite free in the shop, allowing for male and female Senshi (go pretty male soldiers), female and male Knights, male and female Negaverse soldiers, and so forth. Other things you may find useful if you wish to quest for a character, are naming conventions we hold to be true for the shop. All Senshi MUST have a Senshi name that is derived from the Space (including planetoids, comets, asteroids and stars). There is a commonly resourced Wikipedia
here that lists many, many of the names out there are to choose from. Please don't feel limited with them, there are plenty of them! Other classes also have naming conventions, which you can read more about in the previously linked areas.
