Warning. The posts in this thread are overly cute and sappy. Please read at your own risk. Rex: *his supply of hazelnuts is running low, fatty that he is, and who knows when his father will go out and collect more for him?! Rex takes it upon himself to grow a hazelnut tree right here right now, so that he may forever have an endless supply! his tail flops about happily as he digs, resisting the urge to munch on the remaining bounty* Clover: *Prancing like the dainty princess he is, a supply of honey suckle flowers dotting his tail for snack latter, he carefully explores the forest area. Oh, his brother would be quite surprised! Little timid Clover exploring? But he knew he'd be okay as long as he didn't run into any big scary monsters.* :< *Sticking a head into a nearby bush to check if the next area is safe he spots another fawn digging at the ground.* |3 Excuse me~ But what are you doing? *Doesn't quite realize he's a head in a bush.* Rex: *lifts his head at the sound of another's voice, surprised, which is quickly replaced with excitement at the thought of making a new friend. and so, polite, too! he looks over his shoulder, and blinks at the sight of a bush-herla. this... he doesn't quite remember his father or sister describing any UMAs like this. proceeds cautiously, an uncertain smile on his face as he scoots around to face the shrub* ...Um, hallo. Just digging. *oh goodness what would Bri do in this situation, so he could do the opposite of it? tact, he needs tact, the bush-herla might be sensitive* I'm Rex. ...Do you have a name? Clover: Digging? *Tilting his head with curiosity, he flops his hair into his eyes. Then with a great huff he blows them back into place.* But why are you digging? Oh! How rude of me. |3 My name is Clover. *His little tail sets to wiggling with excitement, a new friend! But when it starts to get caught in the bush and causes the leaves to shake around him he nearly startles himself to death* O-oh my. D: I hope I'm not stuck. *Wiggles himself out of the bush and sighs in relief.* There. |3 What's your name? Rex: *guiltily, he was hoping the bush-herla wouldn't ask why he was digging. much like a dragon guards a hoard of treasure, Rex finds it hard to share his hazelnuts. but he perks up at the other fawn's introduction. ah, Clover, it makes sense a shrubla would be named after something of this natural world! feeling like he's make great strides in the field of UMA studies, Rex nods and sits up—only to cower at the apparent bristling of the creature. oh no! did he offend?!* W-was ist-*oh. he's normal after all. Rex flushes, glad he didn't straight-up call him a bush-herla. he might be sensitive about be called a UMA! at the question, he ducks his head bashfully and tries to speak up, feeling bad for having to repeat himself* Rex. Mein Name ist Rex.Clover: Rex? Oh, that's quiet an impressive sounding name. |3 It fits you very well. You are a very impressive looking herla~ *Giggles lightly and eyes those pretty wings. Why did everyone but him seem to have wings?* :> Oh! How rude of me. Would you like a honey suckle? I collected them not too long ago, they're my favorite. *He carefully removes one out of his tail and places it on the ground at Rex's hooves.* Mama says it's nice to share with others~ Rex: *instantly brightens at the fawn's compliments, delighted to think he is impressive and his name isn't silly after all and...* ;w; Danke. *flutters his wings, glad his extra appendages are being eyed instead of his lack of certain other parts! at Clover's offer, he feels an extra wave of shame wash over him. this fawn was so... so nice! polite! he could share! surely, Rex could part with one more hazelnut...* Vielen dank, Clover. Here... *he turned and pawed at his small pile, rolling a hazelnut out and over to his new friend* This is my favorite food. Haselnuss. Hazelnut! <:3Clover: Oh, it's really noth-.. *He said such odd words. They didn't sound like stuttering like papa. Perhaps he was speaking something different like Lockton. He knew so many unique herla now~* F-For me? *He gave a little gasp and stared down at the nut, eyes wide and mouth forming an O with amazement.* Hazelnut, hazelnut.. |3 How fitting~ It's the same color as you are too. *Leans down to sniff if carefully and hums with happiness at the smell. After a small nibble he looks up and beams with delight* It's amazing, Rex! Such wonderful flavor from something so small~ Rex: *grins at Clover's comment. oh, but he already knows from his sister that he doesn't actually taste like hazelnut no matter that he resembles it. the search for the hazelnut-herla was still on! Rex's tail wags as his new friend tries his beloved hazelnut, and is pleased that he likes it so much. well, he can tell the truth now, suddenly eager to share after all* Ja! I wanted to grow a tree so I would never run out... That is why I was digging. >w> *he noses the honeysuckle at his hooves-oh! it smells good!* It is so pretty, like you, Clover. I almost don't want to eat it... *...but seeing as eating is Rex's favorite thing to do, he munches it up anyway* owo! Wunderbar! We should grow these, too!Clover: *Oh! This herla was just so astounding. He was going to grow his own tree of these wonderful little nuts? Poor Clover just stared at him in awe.* You are so smart~! |3 There is a large bunching of honey suckle next to my thicket. I'm sure it would be easy to replant it here.. I just don't know how. >3> *He looks down at his hoof, pawing at the ground in embarrassment.* B-but until then we can just plant your hazelnuts, if you don't mind me helping. *Looks up shyly at Rex from under his blue hair.* Rex: *just beams at another one of Clover's compliments. this fawn was going to give him an ego! but Rex just giggles* It must be nice to have your favorite food so close~ *oh, but Clover has a point, Rex realizes he isn't quite sure how to plant these honeysuckles to make them grow, either. they don't look like it would work the same as hazelnuts... oh well! he's tickled by Clover's shy manner now. why should he be bashful, when he was so kind and polite and everything Rex wanted to be that it would be an honor to be joined by him?* *u* I don't mind! I would love your help! *he scooted to show off the hole he had been working on* Do you think this is deep enough?Clover: |3 I know someone who could help us with the honeysuckle though.. But until then.. *Steps forward timidly, following Rex to the hole and looking at it. He places his hoof down into it to judge the depth.* It looks good to me. *wiggles his tail happily.* How many of them are you going to plant? o3o You sure have saved up a lot. Rex: Ooh, a new Freund? *puffs up in pride as Clover inspects his work* Gute! *he's a bit embarrassed to admit, eyeing the pile* ...I was going to plant just eine, *so he could eat the rest, of course* ...But we can plant a tree for you, too! Clover: *Blinks at Rex, giving him an utterly lost look. Perhaps he heard wrong? Or he just doesn't know that particular number.* H-how many is eine? ._. *Oh no, now he was going to look like a moron.* B-bechass... Because I'd really like to plant one next to my thicket. But if you don't have enough that is fine. Rex: O-oh, right! Ah, one. I was going to plant one. :c *feels bad for confusing his new friend, suddenly self-conscious* Bit--please! Please, take as many as you want for your thicket. *grows excited at the prospect of visiting his friend's home, nudging a hazelnut into the hole* We just need to cover this one und then we can go. Actually, do you think we should find water for it or wait until it rains? Clover: Oh. |3 Just one? I thought you were going to plant them all. I was going to ask to plant just one as well. *Hovers over Rex, watching the proper procedure to plant a seed from the master.* o3o Oh.. Well.. I would think that it has been raining enough as of late to keep it moist and I'm sure it will rain again in the next few days. *He really doesn't like the rain much, there's no where to hide from it.* Rex: Gute, and then we can eat the rest of the nuts! :9 *now it won't be completely gorging himself like the glutton that he is, because someone will be helping! perfect! he begins pushing the dirt back into the hole, wings giving a pleased little flutter* OK then. ^w^ I'm sure the tree will grow big and strong! *he wasn't too keen on the idea of looking for a body of water, anyway. hooray everything is working out great, this friend is awesome!* Clover: *Watches in amazement.* You are so good at this. Did you know that? |3 You should meet my friend Lockton, he knows a lot about plants. I bet you two would have a lot in common. *Prancing around Rex happily in a circle, he returns to the half eaten hazelnut and picks it up to return it to the pile for feasting.* Rex: *under that fur, Rex's face burns as red as his tail* Danke, Herr Clover, you are too kind! But what I'm doing is simple. >w> *can't say he doesn't appreciate the approval, though... gives a gasp at the mention of Lockton* You know Silber? He is my Freund, too! *his tail wiggles madly just remembering the mysterious but benevolent yearling* It's been so long... He is still around?Clover: *Oh, he just can't seem to stand still from the excitement. His two friends knew each other? They were a trio? How amazing!* Yes~ Yes~ |3 Lockton visits my thicket a lot, he is like a big protective brother to me. But don't tell my actual brother that.. ._. Pretzel would be sad. But! But! *Oh, he can barely stand still to tell this tid-bit of information.* |3 Lockton was the one who showed me the honeysuckle~ I bet you he'd know how to replant it! Rex: *droops, realizing he hasn't seen Lockton in so long, when he said he would visit... oh wait, Rex has been with his father* owo *oh no, what if Lockton missed him?!* oAo!!! We have to find him, Clover! He only visited me once... but he was so kind. *oh, surely there is more to "Silber" after all, dropping by visiting fawns and teaching them about plants... like a fairy or something!*

Lockton: *today the yearlings mother finally allowed him to travel further out. Thanks to his parents checking out the area, they felt comfortable enough to let their curious son go out on his own... but return at a specified time. The silver buck felt more relaxed now with this freedom, his steps less rigid and nervous, and more calm and lax. In his mouth he held a small bouquet of flowers, freshly picked from his far away home. They were for his little friend Clover. He often visited the small fawn, and greatly enjoyed his company. It also became apparent that the sweet little golden hart enjoyed the flowers. So hopefully this would be a treat for him.* <3
Clover: *The day had barely just begun and he was already tired out. As soon as the sun had come up he had gone about his daily task of checking the flowers in his care. First it was watering, then weeding, followed by preening and pruning. Doing this for five different beds around his thicket left the fawn tired each time. But it was a good tired, because after he was finished he could relax in the shade of his thicket and admire his beautiful work. He had just finished the honey suckle vines, which he always saved for last, and snuck a quick nibble on one of the buds. But a rustle in the distance quickly caught his attention and he turned around. Oh, please don’t let it be that mean scary yearling from yesterday.*
Lockton: *it was always a little tough getting to Clover's thicket. The thick shrubs that surrounded the area were getting harder for the growing silver buck to wiggle through. But he managed. As he appeared on the other side, fur a bit tousled, as well as his hair, bits of leaves and particles from the vegetation stuck to him, he gave a little shake of his body; not his head though ,as he didn't want to disturb his bouquet. Cleaned up a bit, he instantly see's Clover with his glowing eyes, giving the younger a soft smile. Approaching him, he lowers his head to the fawns level, and places the flowers at his hooves* Hola, Clover. These are for you. <3
Clover: *Obvious relief washes over the yellow fawn’s features as his favorite friend steps out of the bushes. Unable to contain his excitement to see the silver yearling, especially when there is a beautiful bouquet atop his head, Clover begins to wiggle like mad until Lockton settles the flowers on the ground.* Oh~ They are beautiful and so vibrant. *He leans his head down to inspect the flowers, admiring each different kind and giving them a delicate sniff. His body calms as he takes his time with each bud but his fluffy tail still sways madly behind him.* You know how to pick out the best buds, Lockton~ *His little purple eyes look up from beneath his hair, utter joy spread across his features.* But what is best of all is you~ *Carefully he steps around the flowers and nuzzles up under the silver herla’s jaw. Even his protective brother Pretzel couldn’t make him feel as safe as he did with Locky.* |3 How has it been, adventuring on your own?
Lockton: *He was quite happy to see that Clover approved of the bouquet. He'd asked his mother to help him in choosing a few, and their usual meanings. Mama always knew best. <3 His own tail wiggled slightly to show his pleasure, watching as the flowers were looked over. In a natural instinct, he lowered his head to smooth some of the lovely hair out of his little friends face, making their cheeks brush softly.* I'm glad you like them, Clover. Mama said they're not grown anywhere but near our home. *he blinks curiously, smiling at seeing that cute little expression his companion held... quickly blushing brightly as such sweet words were uttered. He stayed nice and still for Clover as he pressed affections under his chin, slowly stepping closer to keep the dainty fawn protected under his head* Thank you.. Clover.. *he murmurs shyly, glad to have his red cheeks unseen.. though his wings were flitting briskly from time to time... hopefully that wouldn't give him away. To calm himself, he gently begins grooming the smaller bucks ear* I've enjoyed it greatly. Mama showed me places he'd been before. *he pauses, nosing some hair to lay more uniform, as well as eyeing along Clover's body to make sure there weren't any signs of injury; it was a ritual he did now when ever encountering his delicate friend.* How have your gardens been?
Clover: *The humming sound of the dragonfly wings made him giddy all over again, it meant Lockton too was happy. But he tried his best to stay still as he was preened by his friend, a ritual that he quite enjoyed. As much as he hated admitting it, the silver buck was better at grooming than his mama. He made a soft ‘ooh’ as the forest herla described how special the flowers were and his adventures about with his mama. Clover was slightly jealous, his mother never did any of those things with him. But maybe when he was older Lockton would show him around. He was concentrating on this so much he almost missed the question.* Oh, very lovely though I’m growing concerned with my daises. The new buds aren’t opening as fast as the others. But it is probably just nothing. |3 *He peeks his head out from under Lockton’s jaw and looks up at his glowing eyes. They were as pure and white as his lilies.* Ah! I almost forgot. Locky, do you know how to move the vines of the honey suckle to another area? I met a fawn named Rex and he gave me a hazelnut to plant and I really wanted to return the favor because he liked the honeysuckle. *He stares up at the older buck, hoping his age has given him this information and if not perhaps his mama would know.*
Lockton: *listening intently to his precious friend as he explained himself, he concluded his grooming, giving a few affectionate nuzzles along Clover's soft cheek.* Maybe they just need a bit more time.* He blinks down to his little friend, ears swiveling forward curiously. They p***k when a name is given, head lifting slightly* Rex..? I know a Rex too. *he smiles, glad that Clover met such a nice fawn like Rex. Thinking for a moment, he looks off a little, his wings stretching out to their full capacity, absorbing some of the suns warmth* Hm... Well.. *his head turns to look along the honeysuckle, observing it* Mama says to move a plant.. you have to take it from the root. *he pauses, stepping towards the large weed, nosing it a little, and lowering his head to the hidden base, parting through it to get a better look underneath* But... the roots here seem to be deep. *stepping back out, he shakes his head of leaves* Maybe you can give him a few seeds from the honeysuckle. They're very tiny, though. *eyeing a flower, he inspects it.* You could take a few to him, just in case. *he looks down to Clover for his verdict, hoping he wasn't smashing any dreams... if mama were here, he'd know the perfect answer to give.*
Clover: *He begins to giggle, remembering Rex’s remarks on Lockton’s appearance.* |3 He thought you were a ghost~ You do move around so quickly like one, a flash of your pretty silver pelt and you’re gone. *His form stills, ears pricked forward, as he listens intently to every word his friend says. He slowly nods, forming a plan in his head as the advice is given. It takes him a moment to register that the other herla has stopped talking and is watching him. A blush spreads over his face and he attempts to recover himself by prancing up beside his friend to look at the flowering vines.* I’m sure I could do both, I’ve found a much smaller bunch of them not too far from here. |3 Perhaps you could help me take them there one day. *He didn’t want to outwardly say it but he was rather terrified of running into that mean herla from yesterday.*
Lockton: *perking his ears, he giggles too, giving a rather embarrassed expression* is that so..? c/x *bashfully smiles, eyes looking to the ground. His sweet friend was always full of such compliments... With the tiny fawn at his side, he perks his ears to attention, smiling gently* I would love to help you move it to his home. His mama said I could visit, so I think it'd be ok. *his tail wiggles, rather excited at such a prospect. He hadn't seen the little guy in awhile! hopefully he was doing ok.. without front legs, and all.* That's very kind of you to want to give him something in return, Clover. Mama says the honeysuckle do travel and spread quickly.. I'm sure he'd have one as big as this soon enough. c8 *nips at one of the flowers and chews it thoughtfully, wings flitting briskly and briefly from its delightful taste.*
Clover: *He gives a soft sigh of relief and turned to nuzzle up against the yearling again. Nothing would scare with Lockton around.* o3o I didn't meet his mama or papa. I hope it's okay that I snuck over there. *He knew how worried his papa would be if some strange herla was suddenly visiting him. Well, Lockton excluded.* An-and.. Well. *The blush returned to his cheeks as he ducked his head down against the white fur of Lockton's chest.* I just really want to spread the pretty flowers you showed me so everyone else can see them too.
Lockton: *he smiles fondly to his companion, nosing along his hair again as the fawn snuggles up to him. Perking his ears, he ponders a little* I met his mama. Her name is Natasha. Or Gnash, is another name she said you could call her by. *he nods, thinking another moment* maybe it will be ok if I'm with you. Since she said its ok for me to visit. And you're very sweet Clover, I'm sure she won't mind. c8 *he feels pretty sure of himself* and if I'm wrong, I can just explain to her. *blinking as Clover seemed to stammer a bit, he lowers his head a little to try and get a better look at the pretty face, but pauses as its hidden against his own chest, eyes blinking a few times in surprise. But his features soften, more than usual, and he chuckles. Lowering his head, he gives long strokes of his snout along the beautiful baby blue hair, grazing against the thin ear* you're very kind, Clover. With a heart of gold, as my papa would say. <3
Clover: *His ears twitch at the kind words and after a moment of the petting he relaxes.* B-but.. A herla yesterday didn't really like me very much because I was so nice and 'cute'. And I know not everyone will want to be my friend.. like that scary black yearling.. *He shudders at the memory.* Bu-but perhaps.. Do you think I am too nice? ._. *Oh, this had been worrying him all night. He had thought perhaps he should be more like his brother and less like his sister. But it was so hard to even think about being as brave as Pretzel.*
Lockton: *it was quite an interesting predicament. The yearling hadn't even experienced the company of an unpleasant Herla, so... he probably wasn't the best to seek advice from. Regardless, he listened intently to his little friend and his woes. It seemed to be distressing him greatly... Wings flitting once, he has to really intently mull over this situation. Alas, he couldn't come up with any means of advice... which made his own ears fold back in embarrassment, wings fluttering a few times to show it* Well... I suppose not everyone will like those who are nice and cute. Perhaps she's just one of them?
Clover: She said she didn't like cute or sweet things. ._. Even my name was too cutesy for her taste. But yes, I guess that is just how some herla are. But she was just so scary, not mean. Just.. terrifying. I'm.. *His voice drops from embarrassment, oh hopefully Locky won't think too badly of him for being a complete coward.* I'm just scared now to travel outside. I don't want to run into her again. Or others like her. *He tucked himself up even more, back legs folded neatly under him to become as tiny as possible. The smaller he was the more his silver friend could protect him.*
Lockton: *ears perking as Clover seems to wilt before his eyes, the yearling instantly began to curl more around him, giving those affectionate nuzzlings again and again, trying to sooth the obvious decline of his friends train of thought. And as he lowered, so did the silver buck, molding his body around Clover's, shielding him from the rest of the world* Its ok, Clover.. *he murmurs softly, like his mama usually did* It's ok to be scared.. but.. how about from now on, when you want to explore, I go with you. So you can be safe from those who frighten you. *he suggests. The thought of someone giving one of his most dearest of Herla such anxiety... it made even a slight boil rise in his stomach. Lowering his head, he tucked Clovers back underneath, his very fragile wings even lowering to rest over Clovers tinier body* I'll keep you safe.
Clover: *Surrounded by the silver herla he knew no one could do any harm to him. And very quickly he began to calm back down, the soothing words melting away his fear.* |3 I would like that very much. Thank you, Locky. You are so very nice to me, I hope I can return the favor one day soon. *He sighed, the last of his stress disappearing with it.*
