"I can't help but worry about the people I care about." Wayne said softly. He grinned after a few minutes and nodded. "All right. Sounds good. Any new restaurants open around? Or any place you've wanted to go? I'll do anything you want. Just being around you is all I can want."

Lule smiled at him, squeezing his hand. That's all she wanted too. "There is a new place downtown. I haven't had a chance to go yet. We could go there?" It really didn't matter to her either, just as long as Wayne was there.

"Sounds great." Wayne gave a little smile and ran his thumb over her knuckles. "You can...." He sighed and scrunched up his mouth. "You can even meet my mother if you like. I don't think anything can scare you away now."

"Nope! Nothing." She grinned at him, placing her other hand on top of their already entwined ones. "Wild horses couldn't tear me away. Wayne. And I'd like to meet your family. You've met mine after all."

"Your mother is wonderful." Wayne spoke with genuine warmth there. He had the highest opinion of Femi. "My family is a bit less... Nice. My little brother's mean, my mother is abrasive, and God help us if Uncle's there too..." Wayne shook his head. "I love them, but... Well. They're not something I'd make people put up with."

"Ah, well, my brother is a shithead." Lule grinned at Wayne. She adored her brother, but Gideon did enjoy being a pain in her butt. Wayne was sure to witness that first hand now. "I'm sure your family is just lovely. I want to meet them. I want to meet everyone that's important to you."

Lule's smile was huge. She leaned over to plant a gentle kiss on Wayne's hand, still cupped between hers. "I should let you go rest," she murmured, looking up at his tired face. She didn't want to, she wanted to stay here with him, but he looked so haggard and worn. He needed to sleep. He had put seeing her first, but she couldn't keep him any longer.
"We'll talk again soon? And go on our date?"

The bat sighed and nodded. He did need sleep, or at the very least rest. He slowly stood, still holding onto Lule's hands. "Yeah. Both of those. I have your number, you have Mam's. Need to get another cell phone... Heh." The bat gave a little smirk before leaning down to kiss the top of her head.
"Call me."

"I will." She tipped her head back to look up at him. The months away fighting evil doers (that was the only explanation she could come up with) had been hard on him, but he was still so handsome. She was so happy she could see his face again. "I'll call you tomorrow and we can decide when to go on our date."
"Oh, and Wayne? I'm so glad you're back."

"I'm glad to be back." Wayne's voice was warm, though his expression was tired. "So glad, Lule. I'll see you later."
Wayne could nearly feel his brain short circuiting. he gave her a little smile and wished her well before he went off to sleep.
