Wendel Klaus: *the bird has left the nest. repeat, the bird has left the nest. maybe sticking around the thicket was a bad idea, but Wendel's always been too nice. alas, it seems he is stuck with it now* "......" *stares down at the little blue fawn with that vaguely amused smirk perpetually stuck on his face* "...I guess you need a name."

???: *taking little silly steps after the small rabbit hart, an amused look on his face* o u o *This little guy seems pretty happy, yup! Nothing odd about him. Just a little fawn following a giant rabbit, wings aflutter* "Name?" *It was funny, he could of sworn he had one before, whatever it was.* ... "Maybe." *swishes his tail around, looking up at Wendel expectantly* "But, but, how do you just get a name? Is- Is it some sort of special thing, getting a name?" *Suddenly the little guy is all rambunctious and giddy, hooves stomping a little as if he were prancing in place!*

Wendel Klaus: *where were his ladyfriends when he needed them, honestly! actually where was this kid's mother was the real question. ears pulled back, Wendel sweeps his gaze about, hoping to glimpse another blue bird or one of his beauties, commenting dryly* "Oh yeah, real big production, getting a name. There's a ceremony and everything." *looks back at the fawn goodness what is he doing now, he is simply too excited* "Hey, kit, calm down for a sec. I'm trying to think." *shifts his ears, indeed the wheels are turning. Wendel supposes he could bestow a respectable name onto this little guy in the meantime, not that he'll get attached. just for now, for convenience's sake, something decent and oh maybe something the ladies'll love. yeah.* "......Lukas. Yeah, you can be Lukas." *satisfied, Wendel nods down at the newly-dubbed Lukas(stroke of genius there, Klaus!)* "Alright, commence to prancing again, I guess."

Lukas: *Lukas, huh? That had a neat ring too it, actually! The little blue fawn was already repeating the word over and over in his head, a silly grin still plastered on his face. It was like he was born with that smile, really, damn thing hardly left! You know what else hardly left? Snow, god he loves the snow! Where did all the snow go in the summer and the spring? Oh boy, surely this guy would know! Thoughts scrambled, already having departed the entire topic of the naming ritual and all of that silly nonsensical stuff. This was far more important!* "Hey hey, I like the name Lukas! That sounds like a fun name oh but you know," *he paused for a moment, thinking, deadpanned for a moment before the grin sparked back, ignited on his face and spreading like fire* "Do ya' know where snow goes? Like, it's there, but then it's not! I had a bunch all over my bed, or whatever that was! Say, do ya' know where it goes? I checked this morning and it was gone! Or some of it was......." *Another pause* ... "Say! How's come I gots a name and you don't? Oh yeah! You said there'd be a ceramony! What's that like? Am I gonna' get one soon? Am I? And what about you? What was yours like? Huh?" *back to prancing indeed! This little guy was crazy legging all over the place*

Wendel Klaus: *hoo boy this fawn is going to be a pawful, Wendel can already tell. still, he does not falter with that arrogantly amused air always about him, ears flicking as though trying to catch every word* "Slow down, kit. You need to relax." *indeed, Wendel's calm deadpan is a stark contrast to Lukas'... all over the place-ness* "First, good that you like your name. It's a good one that is certainly likable, especially because I came up with it. But you have to go and make it even better, a name everyone will love, but mostly the does. Actually, make it a name the does love, the bucks fear, and everyone knows I gave you. Go west, young Lukas." *gazes wistfully into the distance* "As for why I don't gots a name, it was stripped from me as I was unworthy. We do not speak of my ceremony, though they say to this day you can hear others recalling it in hushed tones. Don't let that happen to you, Lukas. It's why I'm telling you to make your name a good one. As for your ceremony... It'll take a while. Yeah. But it'll be a surprise. Kits like surprises, right? Yeah, you'll get one." *doesn't sound too convincing, all dismissive and vague as always, and Wendel's not even going to touch the snow question. he hates snow, but somehow he gets the feeling telling this kid that wouldn't go over too well!*

Lukas: "Relax?" *the little fawn stopped mid-prance, a rather baffled look on his face as he quickly set all of his hooves on the ground, standing poised and upright as if he were posing with an unnatural trying-to-hard stiffness* ... "Go west? But but, what's a West?" *his baffled frown only grew when the larger hart started to ramble off about how he doesn't gots a name* "But why not?" *His voice sort of got high and whiny towards the end, but he quickly remembered I gotta stay calm! and lowered his voice again* "If you gots stripped from your name, maybe- maybe you oughta make up a new one! A new name- Oh! maybe if you hads such ah'... ah' bad ceremony thinga' we could have a new one! And then, an' then, we could both have ah' huge surrrprise namin' thing!" *He beamed, quite happy with this idea! No one was more smart and intelligent as... as... oh shucks what was his name again? Lukas, that's right! Lukas! Nothing was better then him with ideas, nope! A quick wag of the tail, the little blue fawn ruffled his wings expected*

Wendel Klaus: *he needs to find this kid some friends, stat. Wendel isn't sure how long he could keep this up, hopefully Lukas could find someone else to bug. but the does would think he was cute, right? and it all comes back to Wendel. yeah* "Oh. Oh yeah, that's a good idea, I can give myself a name." *with an exaggerated "hmm" Wendel pretends to think real hard and yet awfully fast for a moment, then* "Got it. My name can be Wendel Klaus. There." *turns away, looking around for others to dump this kid who apparently can't comprehend sarcasm on* "I don't need a ceremony, Lukas. Yours will come in good time, all things do. You just have to be patient, don't think so hard about it." *it was supposed to sound like good, almost parently sort of advice, but Wendel's tone sounds impatient, funnily enough. really, he is just banking on the hope that Lukas will forget about the dumb thing. kid takes things too literally!* "How about we find you some friends, hmm?"

Lukas: ...!!! *Wendel Klaus* ....... *His silly smile wavers for a second; that name sounded a little weird. What was that about?* "O-Oh! That's a cool name! Ya'- ya' got two of 'em!" *can't help but bashfully laugh a little, but maybe it sounds just a little... nervous? How odd* "Oh, friends?" *suddenly, her eyes glance to the ground, scuffling the dirt a little bit with his hoof* "W-Well uh. Yeah, I'd like some friends, I s'pose. That'd be nice." *ears flat, they perk up again with another idea* "Oh but, Klaus, do I really have to have a lotta friends? Huh? Maybe I just want one, or, or two. I don't need a whole lot!" *wags tail, oblivious to Wendel obvious wanting to get rid of him*

Wendel Klaus: *what, did the fawn not like his name? Wendel flicks his ear, noticing the kid is calling him Klaus. he'll let it slide, after all it'll only be temporary. he starts walking, expecting the kid to keep up as he begins speaking. maybe if they wander enough they'll find other herla, hell if Wendel knows the popular places around here. he's not sure he likes the hartlands all that much. well, the babes are nice* "Sure, sure you can have one or two. But what happens when you lose them?" *pauses, realizing he's not really speaking to Lukas here. tries again, looking down at the jay* "You'll probably be so popular you'll have to fight them off, kit. I can see it, we've got a real champ here."

Athena: -had been following a set of rabbit tracks in the snow until she thought she heard a familiar voice. She moved away from the trail with curiosity when she spotted a familiar hart, along with a fawn. They seemed to be talking, and she wondered if she should interrupt but decided to at least say hello- It is good to see you again, Wendel Klaus. Have you found someone else that needs a tour of the forest?

Lukas: *His eyes sparkle* "Ya' think so, huh?" *grins from ear to ear* "Well uh, I dunno 'bout fightin' and all. But if you think I can be 'ah champ!" *wags his tail some more, miles a minute, legs itching to move and then he can't help it and just starts to prance around the red palm herla WHEN SUDDENLY oh my goodness goshness who is that?* !!!! *stops mid prance again, ears perked and golly that hind is huge! The poor little jay retreats behind Wendel for a moment, peeking out behind the large rabbit deer* "Oh my goodness who's that Klaus? Do you know her? Huh?" *eyes wide with both excitement and uncertainty, hooves digging into the earth. This was intense!*

Wendel Klaus: *watches Lukas prance about him, wondering if he was this hyped up as a fawn. oh wait, no he wasn't. sighing, he opens his mouth to speak when, my, what an odd reaction from the jay. but the voice is mighty familiar, and Wendel turns. now here's the doe he's been wanting to see! perks up, tail shifting ever-so-slightly, the most of a happy waggle he is capable of* "Always a pleasure to see you, darling." *cranes his neck to address Lukas in a lower tone* "Of course I know her, kit, play it cool." *straightening up, Wendel sidles over to Athena, smiling as maudlin as ever* "This is... my little brother, Lukas." *wait no that was dumb, Wendel, why did you say that. he makes no motion that he regrets that, smooth as ever* "I was just thinking about how much I wanted to introduce him to my special ladyfriend, actually. Come on, Lukas, make nice."

Athena: -smiles at the fawn, finding his blue shades quite lovely, before she returned her attention to Wendel- A little brother? I'm happy that even here away from home you were able to find family. -tail flicks when he called her special, her gaze turning downcast with slight embarrassment. She didn't see herself as any such thing but it was nice to imagine the compliment was genuine- Ah, why thank you for the kind introduction... My name is Athena, and it's a pleasure to meet you, Lukas. I hope that you and I can also become friends. -hopes the fawn wouldn't be frightened, but her voice was kind as always despite her appearance-

Lukas: .... *ears are standing on his head like soldiers on the front line. Big blue eyes staring at the hart in front of him, then at the red hind, then back to Klaus. Little brother?* !!! *His incredulous look of astonishment cracked like lighting into a splitting grin again- this guy just never stopped with the smiles!- play it cool? Oh goshly he'd play it cool! Or... At least he'd try! Or... well, probably not even attempt at all. But hey! If big brother Klaus knew her, she had to be neat! and cool! and nice! and amazing and stuff! Yeah!!* "Yeah, you surely are special, Ma'am! Gosh, i-it's nice to meet you too! Hey hey, Athena is a nice name- Oh boy I bet you had a real nice naming ceremony, huh?" *prancing in step again, the kid was far too rambunctious* "Oh! I wonder what mine's gonna' be like!" *Oh Wendel what have you gotten yourself into*

Wendel Klaus: *his smile falters at Athena's comment of having found a family here, and the way her eyes cast down don't help matters, certainly. he feels a pang of guilt and wonders if he's laying it on too thick, but doesn't dwell on it much longer as Athena addresses Lukas, picking the usual small smile back up. Athena's demure manner just gets him every time, and--oh. oh Lukas no* "Ah, Lukas, you should never ask a lady about her ceremony--" *why is he still even playing along with this stupid farce?! glances quickly at Athena, feeling foolish, like he can't back out now because he'd be admitting he lied to this little kid whelp* "It's rude, you know, what happened to my charming little champ? And you, you really shouldn't keep bringing up yours, it's, it's going to be a surprise, after all-- *his speech is halting, awkward, he feels like an idiot losing his cool in front of Athena and his leg is going a mile a minute, bells jingling like mad as he continues*--the more you think about it, the less, the less likely it'll happen!"

Athena: Naming ceremony..? -looks back up again, her head tilting a bit when the jay seemed quite excited about something. She noticed that Wendel seemed to be shushing the fawn, and while she had only just walked into their conversation she decided to play a bit neutral, if only to not let anyone's feelings be hurt- It happened the very day I was born, so I was much too small to remember it. I'm sorry, but I don't have much I could tell you about it, Lukas.

Lukas *OH MY GOSH GOLLY the look on his face! Suddenly he looks so mad and disgusted with himself oh no what if he's ruined his chance?! What if- if the ceremony never happens! Suddenly it looks like the poor thing is about to cry* ... "T-The very day you were born, h-huh? Don' rrem'ber, h-huh?" *And then it hits him: what if he's already missed his ceremony? The day he was born? Golly he was young. Stretching his mind... last thing he can remember.........* . . . . *But then the little guy just tenses up and frowns. Last thing he can remember... was that his naming ceremony? O-Oh gosh he hoped not, no no no...* "'M sorry Klaus." *The little guy shut up, legs halting to a stop for the moment. He's been a bad bad fawn, he knows it.* "An' it's alright, Athena ma'am, I'm sorry for askin'."

Wendel Klaus: *looks at Athena with a strange mixture of gratitude and mortification. this is where your flights of fancy get you, Wendel, having some naive little kid think there's a naming ceremony, whatever the heck that entails, somewhere in his future, and having this too-kind doe play along in this dumb sham to spare their feelings. slipping further into self-loathing, Wendel at least slows the nervous bouncing of his leg so the jingling of his bells isn't as frantic. but his worries aren't quite over yet, seeing the sudden shift in the mood of the fawn. this isn't like Lukas at all, he's said the wrong thing and now look, Wendel has messed up, he must look awful to Athena and he can't even think of what to say, an awkward silence stretching now as he looks down at the upset fawn, then back to the much more competent doe, a spark of desperation on his face, so unlike his usual aloof nature*

Athena: -has never really been around fawns before, but she didn't think poorly of Wendel just because she realized he had most likely told a lie. In her eyes, it was like her father Sentry telling her his tales of his travels through the forest and of all the different herla he had met. Not every detail might be perfectly true but it was still a story nonetheless, meant to bring wonder and enchantment with every good intention behind it. The lion-like doe smiled, not minding keeping Lukas's head up at the moment- Oh, no. You have nothing to apologize for, Lukas. After all, we're friends now, aren't we? It's only natural for you to want to know more about me, and names in general. I've heard that even your friends can be part of naming celebrations, so why don't I help plan yours? But first, I need to know more about you so I can make sure it's a good one. Tell me Lukas, would you want singing at your ceremony? -would much rather see the little buck happily animated in conversation,so she really was just acting on her own without Wendel's influence-

Lukas: *Not like him at all, yeah, guess not, gosh.* ... *the little guy perks up when Athena starts to speak again, because it would be so rude for him to ignore her, and he didn't want to ruin it for Klaus anymore then he already had. Instead, a facade of a smile popped up onto his face; not that it lacked any genuine emotion completely, but he was hardly happy* "Yeah, friends. Gosh it's nice to have friends, huh?" *But the way she kept going on about the naming ceremony now* ... "Well, uh, That'd be awfully nice of ya', Athena ma'am, I surely do enjoy singin' 'n stuff." *He pauses again, daring a glance up at Wendel* "But I ought'a not plan so much! It's gonna' be a surprise, Klaus said so! But I surely hope there's singin' and all." *His tails wags, or tries too; a lethargic twitch back and forth, but the kid still a smile*

Wendel Klaus: *his ears perk at the mention of singing--Athena can sing? he... never would have guessed that about her, and Wendel is suddenly very interested in hearing her sing. my, this doe is full of surprises! unfortunately, Lukas still doesn't seem to have cheered up, and Wendel feels like it's all his fault. messing with a little kid, smooth. he speaks up, voice sounding concerned for once, instead of the usual disinterested murmur* "We can... plan it for Lukas later, Athena." *why is he seriously considering this, an offhand comment that turned into a joke and now Wendel was seriously thinking about making it up to the fawn. he was going soft. getting attached. that was bad, Wendel didn't want to get attached to anyone, and he glanced guiltily between the two of them before looking away with a sigh*

Athena: -tail and ears lower a bit when it occurs to her that she actually hadn't cheered Lukas up at all, and potentially might have just made him feel worse. Oh, dear. That was not what she had intended at all- Ah, of course... It seems I've gotten ahead of myself in my excitement. My apologies. -gives the pair an apologetic smile, looking down at her hooves as she tried to think of what next. It looked like she'd messed up, and while she didn't really want to leave she couldn't think of any other alternative to prevent things from getting worse* I should probably be on my, now that I think about it.
