- Name: Wigburg Adelheiss
Nickname: Wiggy
Age: 23
Social Class: Peasant
Occupation: Sword
APPEARANCE
Most people describe Wigburn as a woman that was mistakenly cast into the body of a man. She's freakishly large, and freakishly strong, coupled by below average looks, but remedied by an easy smile, and bright, brown eyes. She has dun colored, curly hair that is medium length, and almost always pulled tightly into a bun. Wiggy favors leggings covered with a slitted skirt that allows her extreme ease of movement, and an extra layer of warmth. As for tops, she'll wear whatever she can find that'll fit her frame, so fashion isn't her strong suit.
PERSONALITY
Wiggy is large, and full of life. What she lacks in physical beauty, she makes up for with a ruthless cheerfulness, that can be almost deceptive at times. Men tend to underestimate ugly, smiling women, and Wiggy has used this to her advantage in many a fight. Used to being a puzzle piece that doesn't quite fit into the jigsaw of society, she's taken a shine to serving with the Swords. It's one of the few positions where her skills are needed. And while her appearance still gets her funny looks, she's also afforded some respect, since women are welcome in the Swords. She knows it's unlikely she'll ascend very far in the ranks, being without an education, she's mostly content to serve as a Red Cloak for the rest of her days.
About the only thing that causes the smile to slip from Wiggy's face are when men approach her romantically. She knows she's unattractive, and that in most cases, men are just teasing her when they make advances, and she'll give as good as she gets. She takes casual flirting and teasing in stride, but when someone takes the flirting too far, Wiggy becomes confused and mistrustful. Do they mean it? Or are they being malicious? Part of her always hopes that there'll be a man out there for her, so she becomes easily flustered.
ABILITIES
Fighting/Brawling/Fisticuffs- Wiggy is a natural at the less-than-womanly art of Fighting Dirty. Her large stature, surprising strength, and the tendency of men to generally underestimate women make for an extremely effective advantage in her favor. That, and she's picked up every trick she could find to keep that advantage.
Swordsmanship- Wiggy has learned the basics, and likes to mix in a little of her expertise with fighting dirty to surprise her opponents. She'd be at a disadvantage with an experienced swordsman, however.
Wiggy is illiterate, and generally has to rely on others when the written word comes into play. She is uneducated beyond the most practical of knowledge. She can count to one hundred on her fingers, and do basic sums. She relies on memorization in most cases.
HOBBIES
Labor- Not really a hobby, more of a way of life. Ever since she was old enough to help carry something, Wiggy's life has been filled, morning to night, with chores, and whatever task someone would assign her. She knows there's always something to do, and doesn't like to procrastinate. She especially likes to tackle tasks that involve heavy lifting, since they make for a great work-out, and it keeps her warm!
Wiggy also collects scraps of fabric. She really likes the patterns made with woven textiles, and has a small collection of scraps stored in a small chest in her room. She begs small scraps off weavers, and is even willing to pay for especially beautiful pieces. She has vague plans to sew them into a patchwork quilt when she has enough of them.
BACKGROUND
Wiggy signed up for basic training after Jarl, the Tavernkeeper at her last residence and place of employment, hired some new, male, bouncers to ease the bruised egos of his patrons who'd had a taste of Wigburg's 'gentle' hand. While she'd technically been a barmaid, Wigburg also handled most of the rough stuff as well. Stepping in and breaking up bar fights with an ease that embarrassed the male customers. Jarl wasn't happy about having to make the switch, however, and did what he could to help Wigburg enter the Swords.
