The female greyhound bounced herself to a stop, half-skidding her paws on the sidewalk's concrete, bringing herself down from her sprint. She trotted herself onwards, bringing her racing heart and her body into a cool down period as she panted, her breath rough against her dry throat, chafing against the sensitive skin within. The female finally found herself a spot to sit on the curb of the sidewalk, the entire neighborhood seeming to be empty of people and cars. She flipped over one of her forepaws, gingerly chewing on and licking her pad as she tried her best to heal it, for it was almost at the point of opening up and bleeding again. She had been running so much lately on the hard ground that her paws were starting to seriously ache, but she was determined to become a better runner for her future races. She just wasn't satisfied enough with her skills, and wanted to do whatever she could to become better. A crystal clear puddle of water glistened beneath her nose, drawing the curiosity of her eyes to look down upon the surface and into her reflection, intently staring at her tiny, pointy nose and her small, shimmering blue eyes. The sparkling surface was so distracting to her, that she would have barely noticed if someone approached, especially since the area seemed to silent.

Walking down the sidewalk, the heart marked greyhound enjoyed his casual little excursion away from home. Every now and then, he would garner the attention of little kids that were either with their parents or their friends, receiving soft pets and exclamations of how cute or cool he was. The only disappointment given was when the kids would run off, trying to get him to chase them and he would just look at them or walk after them, in which he garnered, 'Oh, he's no fun... let's go', and they would part ways.
Continuing on with his trek, he tilted his head at a sight at the curb in front of him. It seemed to be another dog, also a greyhound by what he could tell, and they seemed to be staring at something. With curiosity peaked, he slowly made his way over to the fellow canine. When close enough, he called out. "What are you looking at?"

Azure let out a soft gasp as she heard the sudden voice call to her from the background, shocked that another dog was nearby. The neighborhood seemed to have been so quiet that she wasn't expecting anyone to be coming by for at least a little while longer.
"Oh, hello there," she politely responded to him, her eyes still a bit wide but a gentle smile on her maw. "I'm sorry for flinching, I didn't see you approaching. What are you doing around this neighborhood?" she asked him, hoping to not come off as rude. She felt much less intimidated once her eyes began to fully take his appearance in, noticing that he was another greyhound just like her. The bigger breeds intimidated her a little bit every once in a while, for she felt as if they would step on her!
"What was I looking at?" Azure asked him plainly when she remembered his question. "Nothing, honestly. The reflection just caught my eye for a moment, is all."

Corazon jumped a little when the other dog seemed startled and gasped. He backed away lightly to give the other canine some space as they turned around. When they did, he took notice that they were also a greyhound, but due to the daintier size, deemed the other was a female. When she apologized, he shook his head. "There is no need to be sorry, I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that." He said gently, tail giving a lazy wag behind him.
At the mention of a reflection, he looked around. Seeing a small pool of water behind her, he figured that's what she was talking about. "Oh, I see. Making sure there was nothing on your face?" He asked, actually a bit curious. He didn't see the interest of looking at one self in a reflection, but it seemed that girls did.
