Neither Eden or Orion were looking for love, though perhaps it was destiny that they found each other.... after all, who else would have suited such extreme personalities! They are a loving couple who would do anything for each other. Finding out that Eden is pregnant has made Orion strangely protective, and he wants to be able to provide for his mate despite the fact he isn't convinced he is good enough. Eden had complete faith in him however, and knows that their children will be as beautiful as he is to her. When she dreams of their children she always see's his blue mixed with black and traits from his wings as they are the two things she loves most of all... well, outside of his eyes. She enjoys looking up at the sky through them, honoured that he opens them for her when usually he keeps them folded upon his back so that no one can see the 'claws' and 'freakish' nature of them. Orion has hidden his eyes since he was a teenager, no longer wishing to allow others to see the pain in his face when they call him a freak or openly hate him for something he can never change... his genes. To Orion, Eden is his butterfly, his rose, his everything. He loves everything about her, and loves the mare behind the sometimes stoic exterior.
Maion, the current guardian of the Miakoda herd finds himself upset with his lifemate Sengdroma after he discovers he was left out of the loop of information about a skinwalker attacking her father's herd... the fact that this lead to Scythe, Vara and a daughter of their herd's death angers Maion. Just like the Ocean his emotions are turbulent and he needs to get away for a while in order to calm down and think straight. Chandra doesn't want her father going alone and so talks with the herd to see what they wanted to do. Would they come or go.
Eden and Orion know they are expecting, know that Chandra as a midwife if the best chance for their babies, but they also want to travel with their family since Alice and the other 'Cullens' have already agreed to go. And so... a new strain of the herd is formed, Miakoda's Dawn.
What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother: Eden might as well be Mr Spocks' daughter, she has taken being practical to the extreme She will look at something or a situation and follow the most practical and logical path. She is acutely aware that she is an odd one out in her family, though she loves them dearly she is just terrible at expressing it in any way that is easily understood. She began to mimic her brothers in some of their expression just to stop her family worrying or getting hurt. She tries to express her feelings in her actions, though its not immediately obvious.
Feelings sometimes confuse Eden, and though she wouldn't want to be without them she will spend to much time pondering them for some of her emotes to seem genuine. She means everything she says and does, she just analyses things too much and will think about why her brother expressed that at that time, or why she responded in this way. Her view is feelings are messy and get in the way of doing what is needed, but being without them is a very high price.
A price she would be unwilling to pay since meeting her lifemate Orion, in trying to help and reach out to the quiet timid stallion Eden learnt what feelings were all about as she fell in love, though unless she is alone with Orion she is still very circumspect. However now when she is with the few that she holds dearest she is more able to open up and still be herself. No more pretending. She still thinks feelings are messy, and that sometimes they make difficult choices harder, but she has also discovered that they give you strength and can make impossible choices easy. All in all she is an odd ball, but if you manage to find the part of her that does smile then you will find a warm, loving caring mare that will do anything for those she loves.
Father:
Orion is easily distracted at times, and very timid, but deep down he had a big heart especially when it comes to his lifemate Eden. He is not the bravest of soquili, and after constantly being called a freak as a foal he started to blame his deformed wings on his father and his twisted Kalona genes. As he grew his wings slowly started to unfold and grow but he still dislikes that he has any kalona blood at all and worries the foals will receive such traits. Orion tends to be silent around everyone but Eden, only speaking when he needs to... he also doesn't deal well with large crowds and dislikes being the centre attention of anything! In fact, when they told the herd the good news he spent the whole time with his nose buried in Eden's mane.
Orion however can surprise you at times, and should Eden ever need him to do something, even out of his comfort zone, he would bite back his pride and try for her.
Do the parents have professions?
Mother: Tinkerer - Inventor (Creates traps and alarms and items with the aid of her familiar Mossup to help the herd gather and hold things)
Father: Food Scavenger
Link to key RP(s):
I spy a....? - Eden and Orion first meet. Orion gets caught in the traps and panics. Eden finds him. He thinks she is a beautiful butterfly at first, but as they get talking Eden finds herself wanting to help the timid stallion who thinks so badly of himself.
Things always change - This is where Orion and Eden meet again. They go for a walk, and Eden tries to show him safe ways through the forest without getting caught in her traps, and shows him where to find things. Orion opens up a little and starts to talk about the father he despises so much.... on the spur of the moment he asks her to stay with him forever, and much to his surprise... she agrees!!
*blushes* Meet my brother - Eden introduces Orion to Crown. At first Crown thinks that Orion is attacking Eden and goes to attack him... but it turns out the clumsy Stallion dropped something in the mud and was forced to search for it. In the end they all get dirty looking for the trinket and go for a bath.
Mother and Daughter - Eden tells her Mother about Orion, something her mother isn't happy about when she hears the word "kalona", he own experiences make her worry that Eden is in trouble. This hurts Eden greatly and for a little while there is a bitterness between them.
H is for Hummingbird - Orion is given a Hummingbird by Eden. At first he is really worried about looking after the little one but Eden's faith in him gives him some confidence, especially since he knows he can ask for her help if needs be. Using his long hair he often has it tied up into a 'nest' for Sky to sit in.
Siblings - Eden and Crown have a heart to heart. They talk about what they want from life, what they have and what they need. Crown tells Eden how he likes stallions but is worried that the herd will hate him for it, and Eden tells him about how she hopes that people will understand and accept her timid mate. Eden and Crown are very close.
Blood and Family - Hakidonmuya is badly injured by Kimi (a pure SW) and the herd all muster together to help heal the stallion and strengthen their defences. Despite being reserved and quite Orion goes with Eden in order to check the alarms and traps so that they have warning if Kimi tries to come back to finish Haki off.
Something is in the Water - Eden and Orion find out they are pregnant. Eden is acting very out of character and has cravings and mood swings so severe that at times she seems like a completely different soquili! Orion stands up to the task though, and wants to do anything he can to provide for his mate and unborn children, even as he worries they will be more like his father.
Miakoda's Dawn -- Currently RPing over AIM how the herd is changing, how they are about to leave the herd lands with Maion.
What is their family dynamics?
Family
They will be brought up by their loving and doting parents within a travelling Miakoda's Dawn herd. Orion might hold a small fear that they will inherit more of his father's tainted blood but he will cherish them because they are part of Eden and he loves Eden with all his heart and soul, and these children are part of her... so they can never be evil or bad.
Grandmother: Renesme Carlie Cullen
Renesme will dote over them, spoil them at EVERY opportunity and give them gifts and jewels and pretty things as well as play with their hair, as she loves to doing that. It won't matter to her that they are boys and not girls.
Uncle: Crown Cullen
Crown will miss their birth, as he is travelling with his lovemate Kyran. However, he knows that Eden is pregnant and will ensure to come back often to spend time with her and her boys. Bringing gifts and strange items (such as bells and other things) for them from his travels as souvenirs and gifts. When around he will tell them stories, inspiring them to be the best and to follow their dreams no matter were it might lead them. Eventually he and Kyran (and their children) will settle back within the herd again and become a more active part in the day to day life. He will be the 'cool uncle'.
Great-Grandparents: Jasper Hale x Alice Cullen
 x
Alice will worry a little, constantly watching Eden's future to see if everything continues to go smoothly for her after she had a really rough pregnancy and birth experience. When they arrive though, both Jasper and Alice will pass on stories, teach them to control their urge for blood should they inherit the fangs of their family. It is very possible that Jasper would have blades forged for the boys in a ritual to welcome them to 'adulthood' and the responsibility they will now face.
Great-Great-Grandfather: Carlisle Cullen
Carlisle will and does feel old any time someone reminds him that he will now be a great great grandfather. Despite this though he will be happy to see foals again, he has not seen Cullen foals since Alice & Jasper adopted Renesme. While he always keeps a close eye on his family when he is able, and will always be there he will not push in, instead he will let the parents raise their foals as they see fit. This wont stop him from visiting and asking to take the foals out on little adventures and generally just playing with them. Carlisle may feel old but he is young at heart and his compassionate nature will want to give the parents a bit of quiet time now and then. Alice also looked into the future during Eden's pregnancy and saw that she would have three boys.
Cousins: Rainbow Cullen & Wish Cullen & Sophia Phillipa Hale
 &
 &
The cousins will be there to tell stories, to tease the boys BUT to stand up for them as well. They are a close family, and despite the wandering nature of Crown and Kyran, and therefore by default Wish and Rainbow to start with, the distance will only make the heart grow fonder... and the boys will eagerly await their return so that they can hear more wonderful tails and adventure stories.
Herd
The herd are close, and the drama surrounding their decision to leave and the very decision to leave with Maion makes them close by nature. They need to stay together, to become one and stick together. Together they are strong, divided they are defeated. Each part of the herd had a purpose and for things to run smoothly they all need to do their part. From protecting, to foraging, to guiding, to scouting.... all is important, and everyone had a story to tell and lessons to give. The foals will be babysat by each of the herd members at one point or another and will share with them a little piece of themselves, be it their smile or their skills or whatever really. These foals will be the first for 'Miakoda's Dawn' and so will be cherished and spoilt just that little bit more... especially since everyone is determined to make sure they have a happy and enjoyable foal hood despite the travelling.
Herd Alpha and Guardian: Chandra and Sonnet
Chandra was actually the midwife for their birth, and so feels particularly close to them.

 Herd Members:

 Herd Friends/Companions:

 Traditions:
Baby Showers -- The herd love babies and the news of pregnancy and like to celebrate it, offering gifts and items that the parents and children might find handy. It is a joyous occasion with lots of foods (usually each group or individual will go in search of something rare and a treat to be shared).
Coming of Age Ceremony -- This ceremony involves all the mare of the herd welcoming the foal into the herd as declaring them an adult. They each get to have a conversation with the alpha who discusses with them what they wish to do and become within the herd, since everyone has a purpose and you simply need to have the determination to go for it.
Protector Initiation - When it is determined that a trainee is ready to become a protector officially they are set a task by the guardian, once complete they are taken into the woods/forest (just away from the main herd) for some 'special training'.... this training involves them taking their vows and being marked as a protector. Each receives a scar on their left shoulder.
Acceptance Celebration -- Considering how close the herd is, should they accept or take in a new member they will celebrate it. This gives everyone an opportunity to learn their names and for new friendship bonds to be formed. Sometimes this will include a quest, where the alpha or guardian will ask the new member to bring something from their home land (usually food) as an offering for the herd and their Moon God.
Herd/Family culture:
The herd is very close in nature, and generally there isn't anything that happens that everyone doesn't know about it. Especially the mares as they like to gossip and tend to stay together in small groups.
Currently they are travelling nomads, always wandering from place to place. Sometimes they will settle and linger for a little while before moving on, but never for more than a month, and if it is for a long while it is usually because they have a reason. In time they will possibly come to linger in one place... but for now, they are soothing their urge to keep their hooves moving.
Religious Beliefs:
The Miakoda herd believe in the protection of the Moon, their guardian who had kept them safe and in bounty since they were formed. As the herd shifts and becomes Miakoda's Dawn it becomes a come belief that they are renewed and reborn, and at the end of their journey they will be more than they were to begin with.
It is often believed that a storm is a bad sign, that the heavens are angry. During such times they herd will often sit together and tell stories until it passes.
After Maion received his elder hood the Moon god was often called by the sponsoring Gods name, Alignak.
Do you already have Ideas for offspring personalities or the continued plotline?
The boys will all be spoilt, especially since they are the only foals currently in the herd and due to the circumstances that have the herd moving around constantly... it's almost as if the herd want to make up for the lack of stability and to prove the are loved.
They are little firecrackers, and after a while it becomes obvious that they are troublemakers to a degree and so get put into protector training (not so they can become protectors but so they can learn discipline). This leads the three lads into believing they are being forced into something they don't want simply because the herd is so unstable and protectors are needed. For some of the boys this will lead to them rebelling and getting into trouble. They will certainly keep the herd on their toes.
Mother's Owner: (Faid Shadowlight)
If a Boy:
Name: Rigel (Cullen) ((undecided on if he will take a surname))
Temper: Reckless
Personality: Being a well protected and somewhat spoilt foal Rigel has the mentality that it wont happen to him, it never happens to him. No matter what mischief he gets into with his siblings, they can be good, its just not as fun. While being a bit of a misfit none of it is malicious or intended to hurt or harm, but intentions rarely go to plan and eventually we all have to be accountable for our actions, good and bad. This is something Rigel will eventually be made to learn the hard way when things backfire on someone he cares about. He's not a bad guy though, you could call all his trouble making a cry for attention, being one of three brothers he just wants to stand out as his own person and bee seen as he really is, He has a good heart, and while Reckless he usually ends up hurting himself more than anyone else when he sees the disappointment of his herd elders and family. Its the exceptions when someone else gets hurt that make him grow up, bit by bit. Eventually he will grow into an individual to be reckoned with, strong like his mother with his fathers gentle soul, when he finally grows up he will shine as brightly as the star he was named after.
Father's Owner: (Syaoran-Puu)
If a Boy: Daiki
Part of me wants Diaki to get a shock... something that will knock his confidence and completely shatter him for a time.
He will be a little cocky yet he is generally nice. The problem is that he is unpredictable at times, can be nice as pie one moment and then moody the next. He tends to have an agenda that he will strive to do at all times, a common goal that he will aim for despite the consequences. Only time will reveal what this goal is.
Additional notes:
The herd has a few SW enemies.
