Sora didn’t know if his heart could take the euphoric feeling of having his brother in his arms again. Roxas crying, and Sora was crying, but Sora knew it wasn’t because either one of them was sad. They both needed the other one, and it was like the empty feeling was being erasing. All the years of feeling crazy and hurt because of Roxas’s absence. It all felt okay again. Deep down, Sora knew that this feeling probably wasn’t going to last, but for now, it was healing.
Sora felt himself relaxing into a state of peace in his brother’s embrace. This was the feeling he had previous found in Demyx before the Riku incident. The simple trust that as long as he was here with this person, he was safe. He wanted his feelings to have not changed, because of Riku. It wasn’t fair to Demyx, but at the same time, everything outside of what he could physically see was a painful unknown to Sora. Roxas, though, he was a constant. He had left, but feeling Roxas embrace him. Feeling his heart beating so close to his own, Sora knew that nothing had changed. There was no question, and it was so powerful of a connection that it changed even the feelings of doubt Sora had before. That is what he wanted to feel with Demyx. This absolute he knew from Roxas.
Sora wasn’t sure if Roxas had actually said the words he did, or if they had been transported into a universe of their own, like they had been in when they were kids, where they could communicate words through emotions and looks. “I love you, t-too,” Sora whispered almost mutely, into Roxas’s neck. “P-please never leave me again.”
