User ImageTrixie was running down the streets of the neighborhood with a bone in her mouth. She had stolen it from a random dog's yard. You snooze you loose tended to be her motto, or at least most of the time it was until the joke was on her. It had been so long since she had last made a clever escape from her possessive owner. Trixie did not like her one bit with the always trying to groom her and tell her what not to get in. How could Trixie not check different things out like mud baths and random romps through the city?

Eventually she made her way towards the entrance to the neighborhood. She dropped her bone before sitting down to chew on it. "Delicious!" She yipped in a bit of excitement. "I wish master would award me with ham bones like this with the meat still on it." She continued gnawing on the bone until it was just a plain old bone. Trixie sniffed around the area and found a good area with some soft soil. Unfortunately it was in someone's yard. As she tried to dig up the bone a dog on a chain barked at her ferociously. She quickly turned around to see the dog growling at her. Trixie yelped and ran off down the road.

Eventually she hid behind a tree. "Good grief! What ever happened to manners?" She looked around the area she had ran to before dropping her bone. "Wait a minute." Trixie looked around extremely confused. "Where the heck am I?" She whined helplessly. This tended to happen fairly often. She would run away and then forget where she was and where she was going. Most of the time she relied upon other dogs, but this was different. There didn't seem to be too many dogs except for the rude one that barked at her in a mean way.

Waking up was not what he dreaded, rather, it was waking up to the possibility of one of them finding him again. Humans. Dreizehn's playful brown eyes scanned his typical barrel near the garbage cans home and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Cats licking their paws from the apartments up above, dogs barking at clearly nothing other than each other, and him? Wanting to get out of this town.

With his stomach growling for food, he groaned. Today would have to be another day where he would have to be near them. Stealing food. Finding anything. He was hungry. Dreiz jumped out of his home after hearing the garbage trucks approaching. There would be no do catchers today! Dashing out of his alley, the pitbull was pulled back into the brightness of the world. His alley was always dark not to mention.

With his nose hot on the trail of food, he was lead into the city. In front of him he saw large stands of food. And children of course. Tail wagging, he approached a little boy carrying a hot dog. Patiently sitting, he waited to be fed, mouth watering. This would be a goo meal indeed. Instead, he was caught by surprise. An older woman, probably the child's mother, grabbed the boy away, with the hot dog too. He was shunned.

Still hungry, he wandered off, trying to get something! Seeing something silver run passed him to a tree, he cowardly followed, wondering what it was. A large squirrel perhaps? No. It was probably the cat that he would often see around here. "Umm.. hellooo?" he whimpered, half afraid of the cat wanting to scratch hi face off. Instead, it was a dog. Like him! Alone. Confused. "Who are you?" he asked, clearly used to strangers. "I mean... where are you from? Are yours nearby here?"

Trixie had been zoning out a bit before the pit bull jumped in front of her. For a while she staid like that until a couple minutes. "Oh! My name's Trixie." She smiled and wagged her tail a bit. "I'm not exactly sure where I am, but this kind of happens more often then I would like. I come from a very annoying and possessive master." The striped dachshund nodded her head proud of herself. It was nice to meet others outside of where she was limited to walking.

Trixie went over to him not scared or anything. "So are you from around here? It gets pretty cold at night doesn't it? Masters can be such a pain sometimes." When she said that she had no clue about this dog's life, but like her usual self blurted things out without thinking. For a dog her size she was normally a yapper too. Once she started she normally didn't shut up until she was scared or really distraught.

(Sorry for the slow reply!)

No worries! 8D

Dreizehn felt much more comfortable, finding out that this dog did not attack him. Or yet. He did not mind her perkiness, or her boldness to assume that he was a house pet. He wanted to make it clear that he was not at all one of her kind. A pet. "Aren't all humans like that?" he remarked. "I am around here but,.." his tongue was flapping with excitement. "Wait right here Trixie."

Within a second, Dreiz disappeared, and then returned a few minutes after, to find that she had in fact waited for his return. "Try this." The pit bull gently dropped what he was carrying. Breakfast. Pushing the hot dog towards Trixie, he sat down and waited, watching to see if she would eat the food of a stranger or not.

"I actually think that humans are much harder to master than the coldness itself."

Trixie sighed a bit disappointed. "I guess they are, but every now and then they prove to be quite helpful. They just get overprotective at times." She watched as he ran off. Trix waited there excited to see what he would bring back. Once the pitbull came back with food she looked like a kid who just received a great gift. "Oh thank you!"

She dug into the hot dog without any hesitation. She would accept food from just about anything that would offer her a free handout. Unfortunately sometimes it could get her in trouble, but she seemed to bounce back from anything that got thrown at her. "So...you live out on the streets?" Trixie looked up at Dreizehn. "Did you ever have a human master?"

He nodded, flopping his head. "I did have a human myself. A young boy that I found alone. I forget his name since its been years now, but I think he was called Drew." He laid down, clearly expecting Trixie to remain for a while.

"I was a pup back then, chasing after him while he headed home. After a while, he called me his, taking care of me, and giving me my name. Dreizehn. He never took me out or anything though, and he grew lazy to even ride his bike or go to the park. So I ran away, reliving my freedom and umm... here I am today." He smiled, seeing that the hot dog was already gone, but had his eyes on Trixie's neck. Something was odd about her.

Trixie listened to the dog's story like a little child would listen to a storybook being read to her. "I see." She sighed a bit. "It's quite sad when humans stop taking care of their pets. I've seen it before in other strays. There was a pitbull similar to you named Eris who once had an owner, but they threw her out into the streets since the police had to come and remove some of the dogs in the house for having too many dogs." Trixie noticed that he was looking at her strangely. "Something bugging you?" She tilted her head to the side confused.
