Been a while since I've been in here. Good to see it's as dead as I remember? gonk
Anyways. I just got back from visiting some friends out in California. We went to Fanime together, and one of the few things I actually managed to get to attend due to horrible time-management issues on behalf of our drivers, was the Gaia panel. I've got an extra con code if anyone wants it.
I got one of my fliers signed by the attending admins and devs. Lanzer shook my hand and gave me a little bow when I told him my ten year anniversary was coming up. It was yesterday! I missed it due to jetlag and overwhelming apathy. Oh, and I won a hat in the raffle.

Glad to read you're having fun and visiting cons. smile Pretty cool to shake hands with Lanzer, 16 year old me would have fangasmed all over that.
What's a con code do, actually? I love getting new items to play with my avatar so if it results in an item I'm all ears. ^^

Right? I only wish I could have hung around longer. I was supposed to meet friends for dinner so I had to run down to Artist Alley right after, and then they changed the date on me. I also got locked out of AA because I got there an entire 2 minutes after closing and I didn't have a helper badge. Even though I was supposed to. It happened all bloody week, and I was seriously ready to shank a b***h. My cell kept dropping service and PHYSICALLY MEETING people was the only way to keep tabs.
So yeah. Between people stranding us all week, sending us on wild goose chases for parking spots, losing my badge because they never gave me a ******** lanyard, and being pulled out of the con three hours earlier than we had initially been told by a friend's parents... I missed a lot more than I got to actually experience. If I do this again, there will be considerable changes. confused
But yeah. The con code gives you an item (last I knew, it was soulbound), 2.5k, and the conventioneer achievement. Though if you're mostly interested in the item, I'm not sure how satisfied you'll be. I think it's just a lame messenger bag deal. I still haven't redeemed mine, so I'm not sure. But previous con items were always pretty boring. People mostly want codes for the achievement.
Edit: Just checked, and they're apparently no longer soulbound. Going for around 50k right now. Maybe I should just sell it. It's ugly and will be worth next to nothing in a few weeks, if the 2011 and 2012 items are any indication.

Congrats on your 10yr anniversary. Sounds like your con experience could have gone better. I have yet to go to a con where gaia goes. Maybe one day I will.
