Axel had honestly thought that they were over this bickering thing. What was this fight even really about? If Roxas knew Axel so ******** well, then he should have known not to bring this up. He was asking for this. He wanted this fight to happen. Axel felt his blood starting to boil. Roxas really just knew how to drive him completely up a wall. Why could he never just leave well enough alone? The redhead found himself just staring hard at the ground in a glare until he realized something. He didn’t want to fight with the blonde. He didn’t want them to go back to the way they were before. Fighting everyday with Roxas…. It killed him inside… Before this, Axel honestly thought that being with Roxas would fix all the anger between. He thought that if he gave Roxas what he wanted, then Roxas would be happy… why wasn’t he just happy with getting Axel? He knew that Axel had a lot of ******** up baggage. Why did he feel the need to cut into like this?

The only thing that Roxas yelling at him was proving that Axel could never be the person that Roxas needed, and it wasn’t making Axel angry anymore. It was just cleaving his heart in two… Axel had pushed so many of his boundaries over the last twenty-four hours. He even started to question if he could be committed to Roxas… but Roxas… Roxas was just pushing him so fast, he was starting to lock up. So he just sat there. Sinking more into the pain, the redhead sat there staring at the concrete and listening to Roxas tear into him.

“…I’m sorry, Roxas… I’m trying, I’m trying so hard to be what you want me to be, but I just can’t change overnight. I can’t sit here and lie to you and tell you that calling you my boyfriend means something other than pain to me. What we did last night. That is what I think of, when I think of love, and I wanted it so desperately to show you that I give a s**t about you.” Axel stated as he felt tears starting to pour down his cheeks. Axel felt so stupid for crying, but he couldn’t stop the flow pain once it started. “I love you so much, but I can’t play happily ever after with you, Roxas, because I don’t function that way. I really can’t conceive how me giving you some arbitrary title makes me love you any differently. The label isn’t what is stopping me from sleeping around Roxas, it’s you. But I guess it is just too ******** much for you to just trust me not to sleep with anyone else or just believe me when I say I love you. But that is just it isn’t it. You don’t ******** trust me, and you probably never have…You think that me calling you my boyfriend is that makes me love you, even though personal I would never want to call you my boyfriend, because I'm too ******** scared that we will end up like all of my other past failed relationships,” The redhead spoke out before he stood up wiping the trail of tears from his eyes with his palms. He was starting to lose his control over his sobs.. Axel was so tore up, that he couldn't even process that neither Demyx or Roxas had ever seen him this open since he usually pushed it down with anger.

“But I guess that doesn’t matter, now does it? All that matters to you, is that I don’t fit perfectly into your idea of love... and for that I’m sorry... I'm so sorry.... I guess all I can really say is that I tried, but obviously that isn’t good enough for you... so yeah, I’m glad we had this talk, Roxas.... I feel so much ******** better now that we have evaluated just how ******** up I am and how much I fall short of being the guy of your dreams....” Axel forced out through his sobs with his back to Roxas. His hands were shaking and he couldn’t remember the last time that he was this upset. As he finished his words, the redhead then stormed off trying to get some kind of control back. The entire time he retorted back to Roxas his voice was never elevated. He truly wasn’t angry… he was just hurt. This was why he didn’t get attached to the people he slept with… He couldn’t handle the emotional train wreck that it came with…

The redhead quickly disappeared into the crowds at break, and for the first time in two years since he moved there, he went to the counselor’s office and he just cried. The women was so startled by seeing the redhead that she almost didn’t know what to do when he walked in sobbing like a child. He seemed like he had adjusted and wasn’t the same emotional wreck that came to her on the first day that he transferred in… but now it was like he had completely broken down again. Because what Roxas and Demyx didn't realize was that once Roxas tore into all those old scars, it all came flooding down into Axel. It took a lot of pain for Axel to become as cynical as he was about relationships, but that was pretty much Axel's own defense from being hurt by it. Once he stopped being angry about it, all that was left was the sad depression of it.

Zexion grew quiet as he sat there with Demyx. Both of them seemed to be trying to ignore the fact that Axel and Roxas had started to bicker, and Zexion honestly was just waiting for Axel to snap back at Roxas and the fighting to really kick it... but it didn't. Roxas yelled at Axel, but then Axel didn't yell back... in fact he started crying. Zexion didn't know what was more painful to watch, Axel breaking down or Demyx and Roxas as it was happening. Zexion hadn't known any of them for long, but based on the looks on their two faces... Axel didn't seem to get like this very often...

Then just as quickly as Axel had started to break down, he vanished into the crowds and was gone... Zexion, unable to really understand what was going on, just slowly reached over to Demyx's hand and held it. "Demyx?" His voice was soft and confused. He wasn't sure what had happened, but he was hoping that Demyx could either help him understand what just happened or at least allow Zexion to help Demyx process it.

Roxas immediately felt like the shittiest person in the world as soon as Axel's first tear fell. His eyes widened, and he froze, just listening to Axel's words of pain. Oh, God. How could he be so insensitive? He had forgotten just how Axel had been when he first moved here until now, when he had been bawling once more.

Even though Roxas had been through a lot, didn't give him the right to take it out on Axel. That wasn't right. What had he become closing himself off from everyone? He was a monster. He needed to chill out and slow it down. He was pushing himself on Axel now that he had had sex with him and knew there was a chance for them. He may have just ruined that, though. He may have just ruined everything.

"Oh my God. Oh, my God I'm a monster," he whispered as he began to shake.

Demyx looked at Zexion with an odd expression filled with worry but was hardened with disappointment in Roxas. As he heard Roxas speak to himself, he turned to him and released Zexion's hand. He stepped up to him and grabbed at Roxas's collar, pulling him to his feet and staring him hard in the face.

"You fix this. I swear to ******** God, Roxas. You fix this, or he's never coming back. And, honest to God, I don't think you deserve him to right now. You may have been through s**t lately, but you have no right, and you know it," he warned Roxas, seething before dropping him back on his a**. Then he turned back to Zexion, leaving Roxas in shock on the bench, the bell ringing and bodies moing in the background.

"I'll see you at lunch, Zexy?" he asked with a tight smile and leaned forward, leaving a light peck on his cheek before turning away and going off to class.

Roxas drifted through the rest of the day until lunch, fear tight in his chest. Fear that he would lose Axel...not to mention Demyx. They were all he had left other than his mom. He couldn't lose them.

It was Demyx who showed up at lunch first, immediately setting his bag down at the table and going to get his tray. He had been tense. Axel hadn't been spotted yet, which probably meant he either went home or was in the counselor's office. The blond was still tense from break, but now he was just more worried than anything. Until he turned to walk back to the table, that is.

Roxas sat at the table, eyes rimmed with red from obvious crying. He was looking down at the table, empty in front of him which meant he was depressed. Roxas never ate when he was upset about something. Demyx just ate more.

The taller blond slammed his tray down on the table much like Roxas had the day before when he was mad at Axel, and watched for Roxas's reaction. He didn't flinch. Which meant he was zoned out. Demyx's gaze softened slightly as he looked over the blond. Not only was he staring down at the table, he was also hunched into himself. The only reason he was here, Demyx knew, was so he could possibly see Axel and apologize. However, Demyx also knew that Axel more than likely wasn't going to show up...and he was sure Roxas knew that, too.

Demyx's attention was torn away from his friend when he saw a flash of slate hair in his perifferal vision. As soon as he got closer, Demyx shot him a little smile and a wave.

Until that point where Demyx scolded Roxas, Zexion wasn't fully aware just how scary Demyx could be. He seemed so upset at Roxas, and it really seemed to just confuse the slate haired male more. Maybe he hadn't truly realized the ramifications that came with Axel breaking down like that. A part of him wanted to know the full story, but another part of him didn't. The redhead seemed like a really big hothead, and there was probably a reason for those anger issues... There was probably a lot of reasons for why Axel acted the way he did. Zexion just didn't know any of them.

The slate haired male cautiously entered the cafeteria and started towards the table that Demyx had introduced him to just yesterday after getting a sandwich from the lunch line. "Hey Dem, how are things?" Zexion asked as he sat down next to the dirty blonde and glanced over at the paler blonde. He didn't look like he was even fully with this world anymore. It was kind of eerie. Zexion glanced away just hoping to see something happy and that is when he spotted the redhead. "Demyx, it's Axel." Zexion whispered pointing over to the door. He didn't know if Roxas wanted to know at this point, so he keep his voice low.

The redhead looked a lot better, of course it was obvious why. The redhead had walked into the cafeteria with a pack of about twenty or so little kids and one of the counsellors. One of the the little girls of the group was actually up on his shoulders. Looking at the redhead, it was hard not to let out a little giggle. Axel and half the children had paint all over them and Axel had obviously let a few of the girls braid his hair... With paint on their hands. Currently, the messy, paint filled braids were all pulled together into a loose, low ponytail that was swung over his shoulder. You couldn't see the pain on his face anymore, but most of his face was covered in splatters of paint. Knowing what happen this morning, it was more likely that Axel purposefully got paint on his face to hide his sadness. Axel was putting on a great front for the kids as he laughed and smiled with them up to the food line, but Zexion knew that it was all a little too fake. He knew how to fake being happy for kids, he personally pretended to be happy for Xion all the time. Axel was desperately trying to be happy again, and currently was just trying to fake it until it came true.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2015 11:03 am

"Things are as good as they can be right now," Demyx responded to Zexion with a little smile and took a bite to his food. It was silent for only a few moments before Zexion pointed Axel out to him. While the scene looked happy, all Demyx could really do was frown. Axel must have been really terrible if the counselor put him with children. His eyes slid over to Roxas, noticing he was moving to look at the redhead.

Roxas looked up slowly as he heard the mob of children laughing and squealing, Axel's forced laughter over all of them. His swollen eyes looked over the redhead, a little smile twinging onto his lips at the sight of him. He was obviously trying to pretend he was happy, but he was so cute when he was with children.

The smile faded from his face, though, when he remembered how shitty he was toward him. He watched Axel dully, admiring how pulled-together he could make himself look when he was destroyed on the inside. Roxas knew that he couldn't apologize right now. Axel wouldn't want to hear it. He would want to keep himself together right now, especially around the kids. Plus, he was probably going to go sit with them for lunch.

So Roxas stood and walked hurriedly out of the cafeteria, head down so hopefully he wasn't that noticeable to Axel, just as he began to tear up once more. He didn't want Axel to look at him right now. Not when he was so ashamed of how he'd acted. He wiped his face and slipped past the administrators, heading straight out of the school and towards his house. He would apologize later, when everything was a little more calmed down. Maybe tonight. Maybe tomorrow. But definitely within the next few days, once he figured out the right time.

Demyx gave a soft sigh as he watched Roxas leave, then he looked over at Zexion. "I guess it's just me and you today. That okay with you?" he asked, one side of his mouth lifting with a coy little smile before he popped a grape in his mouth.

Zexion smiled softly at Demyx when he turned to him, and told him it would be just them today. "You know, I think I like being around you enough to withstand one lunch period, I might have to push myself through at the end, but I'll make it." Zexion playful stated back to the blonde. If there was ever a day that Zexion could tell Demyx was upset, day was probably high up there. Not only was the blonde stuck in the middle, he had to sit there and know there was nothing he could do for either one of them. They were both hurting and yet, Demyx was still finding the strength to smile for Zexion. Demyx truly was the strongest person Zexion knew.

"Oh, you know what, speaking of being alone together, I wanted to see if maybe you wanted to come back over today. Xion is spending the night over at one of her friend's house, and my mom is working, of course, so it is just going to be me at the apartment. I figured if you weren't busy today that maybe you could come over and chill, I mean, I guess I could also go visit your house, or umm whatever, I was just saying that I'm free basically.." Zexion said carefully. He got about half way through his statement and started to get a little nervous since it felt like he was asking Demyx out on a date. He didn't actually want to do anything like that of course, but he just wanted to spend more time with the blonde. Zexion knew that they had just met, but Zexion also knew that he wasn't going to be here forever. If he wanted to Demyx, he needed to take every chance he got. Otherwise, Zexion was going to leave again, and he wouldn't know what could have formed between them. Even if it was really just a beautiful friendship, Zexion kind of needed that in his life right now.

Demyx let out a short laugh when Zexion told him he may be able to bear one lunch period with just Demyx. "Good to know you at least think I'm tolerable," he said softly with a silly little smile. And then Zexion began rambling about how he would be free tonight, so he and Demyx could have some alone-time. Demyx's eyes lit up a little, the smile getting wider on his face.

"I would love to hang out tonight, Zexion," he said happily, setting down his fork so he could properly talk to him. "I don't really care where. Do you wanna see my place? I'll have to clean up a little, but other than that, I don't mind. Maybe I can play you some music. Or paint! We could paint," Demyx began spouting off ideas, flailing his hands about more as he got more excited. "And I can make you dinner, and we can curl up on the couch and watch a movie while we eat and drink my famous hot cocoa or...or I have tea, too, if you prefer that."

He looked over at Zexion with an adoring smile. "Or we can go out somewhere if you'd like that better. We could go to the beach or the park and have a picnic or out to a restaurant," he continued to ramble, not even giving himself time to shove food into his mouth.

Zexion laughed a little at Demyx's enthusiasm. He was so overjoyed by just the idea of seeing Zexion after school. It was almost alarming for Zexion. He had never had anyone be this interested in talking to and hanging out with him, well at least not anyone that was his age. Xion and the friends she brought around were always excited to hang out with him, but that was because Xion always made Zexion sound cooler than he actually was. He knew that he wasn't anything special, but that never stopped Xion. She thought he was the greatest.

With a soft smile, Zexion attempted to calm Demyx down. "Demyx, Demyx, I think that just going to hang out at your apartment would be just fine. We don't need to do anything fancy. I would much prefer to just chill out and get to know you better, I mean there really is still so much I don't know about you. And I mean vice versa so if it's okay with you, a quite night in is my vote." Zexion explained to the spunky blonde before turning back to his food.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2015 8:59 am

Demyx seemed even more excited that Zexion wanted to just sit and get to know him. That meant they didn't have to do anything exciting to hang out and keep each other entertained. They could just chill and drink coffee or cocoa or tea or whatever and order pizza and maybe Zexion would wanna play a board game or listen to him play guitar or maybe he could teach Zexion how to play a little or they could choose a movie to watch, maybe one Zexion had never seen before and cuddle on the couch or something. That'd be awesome.

"That sounds perfect. I can't wait," he told him with a bright grin before he began shoving food in his mouth. The bell was going to ring soon, and he needed to get some food in him before his stomach started growling in class again.

Demyx jumped out of his desk once the bell to release for the day rang and booked it down the hall to get to his truck. He threw his bag in the backseat and then hopped up on the hood to wait for Zexion to join him. He was so excited for tonight. There were so many ideas for things to do at his place as he sat there waiting, a big smile on his face as he kicked his legs a bit idly.

Roxas, unfortunately, had to go into work that night. He wasn't going to get a chance to call and apologize or even go over and apologize until he got a break, and there was no telling when that would be. He felt so weighted down with guilt, and on top of that his back was really straining him thanks to the stress that he brought upon himself. Needless to say, today was a s**t day.

Eventually, Roxas had to take a break before he broke down into tears. He took a good ten minute break to just sit outside and breathe the fresh air while he watched the clouds move through the sky. In an hour or so, he'd be able to see the sun begin to set. And then the day would be over. He gazed over the clouds, and as he watched them mindlessly, something was building itself up in his head. Lyrics were stringing themselves together.

As fast as he could move, he staggered inside and grabbed a notepad and pen from one of the empty cashier's stations and began roughly scratching down the words that came straight from his heart. He didn't know how long he took, but he didn't really care. Some length of time after he began writing, he was looking down at a piece of paper that was wrinkled and ripped in one place with words scribbled out and notes written on the sides. He wiped the few tears that fell down his cheeks away and took a deep breath before folding and shoving the paper into his pocket. He needed to get back to work, but he had decided he was going to suck it up and face his mistake head-on when he got off of work. He was going straight to Axel's house.

Zexion smiled back at Demyx, and he could honestly say that no matter how s**t the morning seemed. Zexion could never say this was a bad day. As he took in all the beautiful glow from Demyx’s shining smile, he realized that he didn’t care if the entire world when to hell. Demyx was this magical creature that could make anything better. It was okay, even if nothing was okay, because Demyx make even shitty days seem wonderful. It was a feeling that Zexion could honestly say he could get used to.

Maybe this was what having a real friend was really like. They helped you through the bad times as quick as possible, and they made the good times last a little longer. Zexion smiled widely at the thought of calling Demyx a real friend, but he hide his face behind his sandwich as he tried to eat as well. Demyx was such a cheerful and happy person that Zexion didn’t think he could scare him off at this point, but that didn’t mean that Zexion actually knew how to not be shy at this point. He could say that Demyx was his first real friend in years, but that didn’t mean he instantly knew how to act around him. Maybe tonight would really be good for them, because Zexion could get more comfortable around just Demyx.

School seemed to drag on forever. Classes that even Zexion enjoyed seemed boring in pretense to getting to hang out with Demyx. And then there was the how trouble of Demyx never officially saying that he was taking him over to his house or not. He did say that he had to clean, and he did know where Zexion’s house was, but did that mean that he wanted Zexion to take the bus and then Demyx would pick him up. Zexion didn’t want to just show up either and expect to be taken home, and he also didn’t want to go home and just expect the blonde to drive all the way home and then come and get him. It was just a flustering situation all around.

By the time the finally bell rang, Zexion decided to just go out and check the parking lot really quickly, and then maybe he could still catch the bus if it was obvious the blonde wasn’t there. Of course, the fates were exactly ready to give up on ruining Zexion’s day. He was just about swing the corner towards the parking lot when someone grabbed his shoulder hard enough to pull him fully back around in one swing. “You know, when you come along and ruin all of someone’s hard work, it kind of pisses them off.” The guy was tall…. And muscular. ********, what could Zexion had possibly done to him? He hadn’t even met him before.

“...I-I’m not looking for trouble, I’m sorry if I missed something up, I-I didn’t mean to.” Zexion was suddenly cowering and stuttering. It was a natural defense to look weak and helpless for Zexion. It usually resulted in half the beating, because they didn’t realize how tough he actually was.

“My name’s Hades. And you shouldn’t apologize if you aren’t going to actually mean it. In fact, I bet you are off to cuddle up with Demyx right now aren’t you? I mean you look more fresh meat than a living calf, there is no way you have a car, and I saw you two smiling like two fools at lunch. Is he going to pity ******** you so you don’t have that big ol’ V-card anymore, isn’t he?”

“W-w-what are you talking about? Demyx… Dem and I are just friends. W-we aren’t going to have sex…. And even if we were, I fail to see how it is any of your business,” Zexion muttered. He probably should have just held his tongue at the last bit, but he couldn’t stop himself. What this guy was implying was that he was mad about someone making Demyx happy, not to mention, he was implying that Demyx only hung around Zexion because he felt sorry for him.

“Awww, you poor soul. You don’t even realize the hand-me-downs you are being given. Well I’ll let you in a little secret. Demyx. Demyx is a desperate slut, who only gives attention to people he thinks will ******** him. Trust me, I would know. You’ll see the moment you don’t give him sex, he’ll turn on you. I dated him, because I honestly fell for that sweet act too, and what does that slut do. He goes and cheats on me. He even did it with an administrator. He is unclean. Dirty. And worst of all, he is scrapping the bottom of the barrel if he has gotten down to scraps like you.”

“Look, I don’t know who you are, but I don’t believe you. Demyx is nice and kind-hearted. He wouldn’t do that, not to mention Demyx is just friends with me. He doesn’t want to ******** me, he just wants to get to know me.” Zexion definitely spoke out of turn that time, because this time he ended up being smashed into the wall and held up by this shirt.

“Don’t ******** talk back to me. Look s**t for brains, I’m trying to help you. If you don’t believe me, ask how many guys Demyx has slept with. I bet even the number he lies to you about will be shocking to your little virgin a**. So if you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave Demyx the ******** alone, because next time, I won’t just shove you into a wall. I’ll make you eat not only your words, but the pavement, too. Because I’m ******** kind hearted enough to look the ******** out for the clueless newbies of the school.” Hades words were definite the kind of threat that Zexion was sure that he was planning on keeping whether or not Zexion actually stopped hanging out with Demyx or not. Guys like that were like sharks, once they found blood, they always attacked.

The conversation promptly ended with Zexion being tossed down the sidewalk and nearly into the road as he struggled to keep himself from skidding on the pavement. Well that wasn’t pleasant, especially with his injuries from earlier. Zexion attempted to pick himself up off the sidewalk just as Hades scooped up his backpack that had fallen off when he was thrown. “Don’t worry, freshie. I’m sure you’ll learn quick.” Hades informed him before emptying his bag into the street in front of the parking lot.

There was so many people rushing to get out of school at that point, some of them didn’t even care to slow down as they ran over Zexion’s books and binders. Zexion could only really watch in horror as the new book his mom just got for him last week was torn into pieces by several sets of tires. Of course, Hades didn’t stick around for Zexion’s obscene cursing spree. He pretty much dumped Zexion’s empty bag on the ground next to the curb and walked away promptly to leave Zexion to his misery.

Demyx waited...and waited. And then waited a bit longer, checking his phone for the time at one point, frown sliding onto his face. Did Zexion forget? Well, they hadn't exactly discussed whether or not he was riding with him now or later, but...Demyx kind of assumed that was the plan. But he was beginning to get worried. Zexion was smart, so he would come check the parking lot before hopping right on the bus, wouldn't he?

As soon as his feet hit the ground, Demyx took off towards the bus pick-up. He had a sinking feeling growing in his chest, and he didn't like it. Was Zexion in trouble? That sinking feeling caused his heart to turn to stone as soon as he rounded the corner and drop out of his stomach.

"Zexion!" Demyx called as he shoved through the crowd to get to him. He still saw people trampling all over Zexion's things and something clicked inside of him. "Are you ******** kidding me? Watch where the hell you're going!" he snapped loudly at those rushing by, standing his ground as he put a barrier between himself and Zexion and leaned down to help gather his things. His voice was soft and worried again as he spoke up.

"What happened, Zexy? Did you just get shoved over?" he asked as he began putting Zexion's things back into his bag. He was basically sitting in the middle of the road as he looked around to make sure he didn't miss anything. His heart sank again as he noticed the mangled book a few feet away just as another set of tires flattened it. He wasted no time in standing and rushing to the middle of the road, glaring at the next driver that came right up on him and slammed on the breaks. He leaned down and picked up the book and the few pages fluttering around on the ground gingerly. He only flipped off the driver as they honked at him then stalked off back to Zexion, examining the damage done to his book.

"I'm so sorry, Zexy. I don't think your book made it," he frowned as he ran his fingers down the cover, a few pieces of gravel embedded in the cover. "I'll buy you a new one. No arguments, we're going to the bookstore. Like, right now," he told him and hugged the book to his chest so Zexion didn't have to see the wreckage up close.

Zexion knew that the cars won’t stop for him or his belongings. Therefore he was kind of forced to attempt to just scrap his stuff out of the road as fast as possible between cars. There was so many people just walking right on by him… some were actually stepping over him, on him, on his things that he just saved from the road. He felt so insignificant. It was worse than being invisible, because they could see him. They could hear him cursing every a car nearly hit him as he attempted to grab things out of the road. They just didn’t care. They didn’t care about him at all. He was no different than the pavement he was crawling around on.

Maybe that Hades guy was right. Why the ******** would Demyx, someone so outgoing and happy, want to be his friend? Why would anyone want to be his friend? He was pavement… the ground beneath people’s feet. Zexion stopped picking up his papers and he stopped attempting to go back into the road. He just curled up there watching his things get walked on and run over. He wanted to cry, but he was beyond tears at that point. He just wanted to cease existing. Everyone would be so much better without him there to get in there way.

The dark swirl of depression that was filling Zexion was so thick, he barely registered his name being called. What a joke. Someone decided to name the space between the ground and their shoes… There was yelling, but Zexion honestly didn’t care. Maybe it was a bully come to finally finish the job. Maybe he was mad that Zexion was forcing him to trample over him. It was an inconvenience for Zexion to just be in the way like he was.

No beating came though, and as he looked at hands starting to pick up the things he had collected from the road and put them back into his backpack, Zexion was confused. What? Why was someone helping him? He didn’t deserve to be helped. The slate haired male reached out and pulled the almost filled bag back to him before looking out into the road. It was Demyx.

“I-It’s okay… i-it wasn’t a very good book anyways.” Zexion whispered back as he hugged his backpack to his chest. It was a lie. He actually love the book. It was a fairly nice hard-back book, not to mention Zexion hadn’t got to finish it. He hated not being able to finish books. Yet, he lied. He lied, because he couldn’t even begin to show all the real pain he was in to Demyx. He just wouldn’t be able to take it.

He didn’t have the strength to stand, so he stayed where he was sitting on the sidewalk next to the street. The moving crowds that were rushing to the parking lot had almost died down now, and there was not enough traffic to warrant actually kicking and shoving Zexion as they passed him to get to their destination. Zexion’s eyes sank back down to the black asphalt that covered the road. “Seriously Demyx. It’s okay. I don’t want a new book. It was my fault it got destroy and I would never ask you to fix something that was my fault.” Zexion’s words were hollow, and he didn’t mean them. In fact he was so beyond feeling that he couldn’t expression anything genuine that wasn’t pain.

“… I-I just want… I-I just… I-I don’t know.” Zexion whispered wanting to say that he wanted to go home, but was it really a home? It was a temporary place with empty feelings. There wasn’t things hung on the wall. There wasn’t Xion there. Hell Zexion still had boxes that weren’t even unpacked in his closet, because why unpack the winter clothes, if you were going to leave before next winter. Zexion just didn’t want to be here anymore. Maybe his family constant moving was a good thing, because Zeixon honestly never wanted to come back to this hellhole ever again.

It was quiet for a few moments, the two of them quietly eating their food in an awkward silence...before Demyx started cracking up laughing, face still bright red. “We aaaare pathetic.” He set down his fork and threw his head back as he laughed. He then returned his gaze to Zexion, bright grin on his face. He studied the smaller teen for a moment, grin softening to a genuine, adoring smile. “If, um. If you ever feel like practicing your, uh, kissing skills. I’m awkwardly happy to help,” he said softly, a blush dusting his cheeks once more. He shot him another shy glance with a little smile before he shoved some more food into his mouth.

He chewed, swallowed and then cleared his throat. “So, uh. What did you want to do today? Other than sit in bed with me and, uh, have awkward conversations? We could go out to eat lunch or...or go to the park or the lake...or, if you want, we can stay in and study? I figure you haven’t skipped school before, and you might feel guilty about it. I don’t know. I, uh, I guess I don’t really know you that well to know if you’d even feel bad about skipping. But...I’m down to do whatever you wanna do today.” He smiled at him again. “If you wanna go out, you can borrow some of my smaller clothes. I think you’ll look cute in ‘em. You look cute enough in my regular-sized ones,” he told him, sticking his tongue out as he reached over and poked Zexion on the tip of his nose. The blush on his cheeks lingered through the rest of the conversation.

“Or, if you just wanna...hang out, we could have a movie day and be lazy? I have plenty of movies to choose from. We could cuddle on the couch again. I’m surprised Chester hasn’t come screaming at me for attention yet today. He’s probably curled up on my bed by now, the lazy bum,” he grinned as he spoke, popping a piece of sausage into his mouth. “But it’s totally up to you. I skip school all the time. This is your day.”
