It had been a long time. A long time since she left her previous clan, a long time since she'd had that fluttering feeling inside of her, a long time since she last saw her. Well, perhaps not that long, but long enough to make Lysande nervous about their meeting.

She checked herself out in puddles on her way to the lake, and again in the lake's placid surface. Her hair was gentle looking, her expression soft and kind, her wings lovely and colorful. It was the way it had always been, even when she was chased out of her home. Ah, but she just wanted to make sure she looked presentable.

Lysande had just been alone too long, and craved any sort of companionship. Odette was someone like a friend to her, another who understood the life she had lived to some extent, who had the same sort of royal air she herself once presented to the world.

She was excited to see her again, to be honest.

"Lysande." Came the sweet, sophisticated tone of the one she waited for. Odette had emerged from the tree line, having taken a moment to fondly observe as the flutter-hind fretted quietly over her appearance. As per usual, Odette found Lysande to be stunning- she always had.

It was not merely her beautiful appearance that had drawn Odette to her. It had been her kindness, the gentle twinkle in those plum colored eyes, the genuine feelings and expressions that Lysande would show when they two were alone. Her wings stretched before resettling upon her back, approaching the one who waited for her with a fond smile.

"You look lovely today." She said softly, nosing a bit of soft hair behind the other hinds ear.

Odette's voice broke her reverie, and Lysande could feel the heat rising to her face as she touched her. A bit of habit tried to resurface, to push away the feelings and seem steeled and in control, but Lysande reminded herself - there was no need to hide her feelings. She smiled brightly, facing her and keeping her heart open.

"Odette," Lysande whispered. The feeling of her nose on her body lingered for a moment. "You are sweet as always. Thank you," she replied. Lysande nosed Odette's cheek gingerly in greeting. She had missed the hind, with her simplistic beauty, like a black stone washed smooth by a river. Her kindness to her and understanding... "It is so good to see you again."

"Likewise." She replied, keeping her posture perfect even as she moved to settle close to Lysande on the fresh grass of the riverbank, folding her legs neatly beneath her. "There was quite the commotion in the meadow today- talk of thickets. All the parents are in a tizzy." She chuckled softly.

The thought of children was...appealing to Odette, though she was not fond of the idea of carrying. While she did have some maternal instincts, she was known to be just a bit too cold and serious for that. If anything, she would be an appropriate father-mother figure. If such a thing existed.

As she side glanced at her beautiful companion, however, she was met with a strange thought. 'Having children with Lysande wouldn't be so terrible...Lysande was gentle and kind with enough of a cool head to be a proper parent...Odette blushed. What in the Motherfather's name was she thinking?!

She cleared her throat softly. "How has your day faired so far, darling?"

Lysande's ears perked at Odette's words. "Thickets, you say? I've always been rather fond of fawns. It'll be lovely to see some roaming again..." She had been a consort before, but her old mate had been unable to sire neither Lysande, nor any other consort, any children. The fawns of her old herd had always admired her, and she thought she would have been a good mother if she had had the chance. But perhaps she would have another chance...

She pushed the thought away for the moment to answer her dear companion. "It has been well. But it is better now that you are with me, Odette." She smiled coyly, positioning herself closer to Odette. "Any day spent with you is a good one."
