QUEST FOR

Susumu Ige, of the Noble Retainers!

*any questions can be directed to me via PM! I respond rather quickly!

PostPosted: Sun Oct 20, 2013 9:50 pm

Username : Cooro Cooro

Lunarian Name : Susumu Ige
Age 17
Alliance : Noble Retainers
Path : Priest

Personality :

Odd (Negative):- Being alone so much while growing up caused Susumu to develop little imaginary friends of his own. Certainly, he's grown out of that, but there are still times when he's found doing things others might find peculiar. Muttering to himself, constant fidgeting, and bizarre, curious looks to the people who pass him by are all noted on a regular basis by whoever decides to pass the kid by. Susumu lives his own little world most of the time, noticing people as strange, peculiar visitors that stop by every now and again. His mind wanders rather frequently, and he often finds it hard to stay on topic when talking about anything, unless he's speaking with a specific purpose in mind, such as trying to convince them that the ducks in the pond nearby are trying to steal loaves of bread from the shops nearby. The neighbors near where he lives often speak of the boy next store his often finds pleasure in the most peculiar of things. For a while, he even began digging random, perfectly square holes in his back yard, convinced that there were little, miniature treasures hidden underground, but if you were to dig too deep, they would be destroyed.

Diligent (Positive):- Once started on something, a goal, a project, nearly anything, he's eager to get it finished. He really wants to get something done, to accomplish what he sets out to do. This stems to every part of his life, from chores, to working, to learning. It's hard to find a time when Susumu half-does anything.

Adaptable (Positive):- Life is constantly changing. One day, you are on the top of the world, sipping rice wine and eating a full meal, the next you could be scavenging for scraps. Susumu has found it quite easy to switch his actions, his mindset based on what needs to happen. It's difficult to completely catch the boy by surprise, and though his mind is filled with all sorts of jumbled ideas and randomly floating thoughts, he manages to re-wire his mind just long enough to have a basic idea of what is going on in tense situations.

Overly Casual (Neutral):- So.. You're a teacher? Or you're a higher rank.. Or someone who supposedly has a stronger position over Susumu? Well, little Susy will keep that in mind, but that does not mean he'll successfully treat you with the respect you've earned, or supposedly deserve. Everyone in the world was made equal, in his eyes, so everyone should be treated the same. Far more than once in his life he has gotten quite the beat-down for his nonchalant behavior. Even his parents whacked him more than a few times for mouthing off. He doesn't attempt to be rude, not at all, it's just more like everyone has the same rights as he does, right? So why not treat them all the same? Everyone starts off neutral in his eyes, until they take a step on the good, or bad direction.

Kind (Positive): - Despite his overly off putting nature, Susumu has a soft side that comes out more often than not. There's a particular kindness he has within himself directed towards children, as their imaginations allow them to see into his own little world much more clearly than those who are older and more 'mature'. Anyone who seems less fortunate than himself, in any aspect, can be certain to receive some sort of special attention from him.

Hobbies

Begging:- Perhaps it is not quite right to call this a hobby, but ever since he was a wee lad, he found the best way to get things that he wanted was to simply ask. Susumu hardly begs for money anymore, because what would he do with money besides have it confiscated for more liquor? He finds himself going over to restaurants that belongs to the people he knows, or those that seem to have kinder people, and seeing if he could get something from them. No schemes, no gimmicks, just a thin boy, looking for food. This also applies to flower shops and seamstress shops. A few dying flowers, or near empty spools of threads may not mean alot to them, but to Susumu, they mean a clean, fresh smelling body and hole-less clothes.

Reading/Listening to Stories:- Books are hard to come by at times, but when he can get his hands on them, Susumu blazes through them, taking in every bit of fantasy information to further add to the world in his head. And though often he's not welcomed into people's shops, there are places he finds he can hid in, squeezing himself into little corners to listen to the every-day stories that come from people. It doesn't have to be extremely exciting, or even all that good! As long as it ads to his own little mind-vault of stories, he's more than willing to listen!

Soap Making: Because he focuses so much on smelling decently, he's come to learn how to create soap, which his father often neglects to buy. It wasn't hard to figure out what to do, a few scavenged oils here, a few flower petals there, and he can create something that smells quite lovely. It's never enough to try to sell, especially with his own obsession with being clean, so there is no profit there. It also takes a long time to gather enough materials to make enough soap to last even a few weeks, so it's more for his personal benefit, than anything else.

Peculiarities

Obsessive Washing: Just because money is hard to come by, doesn't mean there is an excuse to come off as filthy. His clothes may be torn and worn, and he may have an odd, but not unpleasant odor from hand-made soap, but unless he's working the begging side of his life, he'd rather not be dirty, or worse, smell like his father, a mixture of booze and rotten fish.

Hoarding Broken Things: Every object had a past to it, may it be a broken toy, to a worn shoe. There is a story behind each and everyone one, and as much as he loves stories, He loves making up his own for these objects too. He does not actively search for such things, but when he finds something that may fit his collection, he ignores what he was doing before in order to snatch it up before someone else does!

Alliance Reasons : Everyone is equal. Everyone should have the chance to be things they couldn't be the way things work right now. It is not a reflection of his families beliefs, or truly influenced by any of the stories that he's heard. Susumu truly believes that everyone was made equal, as much in death as in life, so why not let politics be ruled equally as well?

As much as he fears and respects the Goddess, that does not mean that the way things are interpreted now are correct. Just as the tides change, so, too must the people of this great city. In Susumu's mind, it is time to love and accept all of these "Imperfect people", as he is very much one of them.

Brief History: There is not much to really say about Susumu. He was born and raised in a little fisherman's shack in a community closer to the docks than most families would want to be. They were not well off, and not entirely poor, but as he grew up, less and less money was available. Around the age of six, Susumu's mother left her husband and child in the middle of the night, for reasons that still remained unsure to the young boy. Since that time, his father became neglectful of the child, to the point that he, at times, questioned why there was this boy in his house hold.

Seeing as he had no other family to turn to, nor any real friends, for support, he came to learn to survive on his own, doing what he could to take care of himself and his father. He has been doing so for years, and years, feeling that this was his place in the world. Though recently, through more information he had heard about the Nobles, he wishes to become one of them, so that he can find a freedom and opportunities that he has not able to obtain of himself as of yet.

Family

Ise Iwao : A worn-down old man who looks like his face has been wind-whipped every day for the past fifty years. Back in his youth, he was a fighter, though a simple training accident left him crippled in his left leg. From there, he became a fisherman, working on a boat and earning just enough to provide for his small family. Bitter and ashamed of what he had become, he turned to drinking and gambling with the money he had earned. After his wife left him, he began to block out everything, even forgetting at times he had a son, leaving for days at a time on fishing expositions. When he returned, he sat back down, and drank, leaving Susumu alone most of the time to scavenge for his own, or to maybe swipe a few coins from his father to buy food for them both. Regardless of whether or not he was the perfect father, Susumu could not simply abandon him, so to this day, he lives with the man, atleast trying to make both of their lives a little easier when they both are at home. He seems to smell constantly of sweat, old fish, and alcohol.

Unnamed Mother: Susumu only ever knew her as 'Mommy'. She was tired and angry all the time, that he could remember, but to him, atleast, there were moments of kindness shown. Most of his memories of her were happy ones, and when she smiled, she most certainly was a lovely, beautiful lady. One day, however, he woke up, and she simply vanished. From what he's heard around the shops near his home is that she was finally fed up with her incompetent husband and left him, leaving her child behind as well for a fresh start. As hurt as he was, Susumu never blamed her. If he could have chosen, he would have left as well.
