[OOC:Any pokemon who wishes to learn about or join the Rose Garden Gang is welcome to join in the RP.] Rose bustled about, arranging her new home to her satisfaction. The place she'd found was nearly suitable for her purpose, and just needed some tweaks. She had used a combination of Dig and her telekinesis to scoop out a pool in the bed of the stream, carving it large enough to hold a number of small Water pokemon, or perhaps one very large one. She wasn't sure how dig it would need to be, but figured it could be enlarged later. She then used Rock Slide and some carefully placed uses of Bulldoze to clear away any loose rocks from the steep hillside beside the stream, so they wouldn't be likely to fall and hurt anyone later. Many of the now-loose rocks were piled in the stream running by the hill, downstream from the pool in order to form a rough dam. Then she used Dig and Bulldoze some more to enlarge some of the small caves riddling the hill, carve easy paths up to each of them, and finally clear out two larger caves at the base of the hill, on order to accommodate as many pokemon as possible. With that done, she floated above the area to survey the area. The copse of trees and scattered berry buses along the top and far side of the hill provided food and space for pokemon that preferred nesting in woods. The grassy field dotted with flowers lying on the non-hill side of the stream left plenty of space for pokemon to run around and relax. Something seemed to be missing, though. She flew here and there, examining everything once more before she decided the field could use a more concrete border. And perhaps the whole place could use a little prettying up. And what better way to do that then with her favorite flower? The Mew disappeared as she teleported away to find a suitable plant. A short time later she reappeared, with several whole rose bushes, roots and all, being psychically towed along behind her. There were several kinds, with flowers in red, pink, yellow and white, some that were very fragrant and some with almost no scent at all, some with bigger thorns (she'd have to warn pokemon away from those, but it had the prettiest blossoms) and many with smaller thorns. All were hardy and healthy, and hopefully taken from places where they wouldn't be missed. She arranged the bushes in a wide semi-circle curving out from the stream, directly opposite the prepared hillside. Then she dug a hole for each bush and planted them, carefully patting the dirt around the roots before watering the whole area with a Rain Dance. As the rain tapered off and the skies cleared once again, the returning sunshine made the water droplets scattered on all the plants glitter with tiny rainbows. Rose looked around again and nodded to herself. Now it was ready to be a gathering place for lots of different pokemon. The only thing left to do is find some pokemon and invite them to stay.

Bell had flown for quite a while before she finally spotted a hill scattered with berry bushes. It was just in time, too; her sack was dangerously low on food and she had been worried that she would have to go hungry. Pokemon trainers had over-picked the berries in her previous territory and hadn't bothered re-planting any, forcing the delibird to search for days for a suitable new territory. She landed and began examining the berry bushes carefully. The plants were healthy and the berries were ripe. The bushes were located near the woods, too; the perfect place for Bell to sleep safely without needing to leave her precious crop too far away outside her protection. All she had to worry about now would be if any other pokemon claimed this territory as theirs. She would probably have to fight them for it, but she would worry about that only when she had to. She began harvesting the ripest berries, eating some and saving others in her bag. She also started marking places in the dirt by scratching away with her talons; these were places that she would consider planting extra berries so that even more bushes would grow. In the middle of her survey of the land, Bell heard a great rumbling of earth and rocks being moved. She waddled up over the hill, hiding behind a screen of bushes, and peeked out to see what was the cause of the ruckus. She spotted a mew busily rearranging the landscape. Her feathers ruffled in irritation; did she think that just because she was a powerful legendary, she had the right to make so much noise in an otherwise peaceful place? Bell watched as the mew vanished and reappeared with roses. The delibird snorted; this legendary seemed overly occupied with appearances. For a pokemon, she was strangely unsatisfied with nature. The rain dance was the final straw for Bell; she had not come all this way for to be soaked through by a noisy neighbor. If she was going to call this territory home, she had better n** this situation in the bud. Bell seized the neck of her berry sack in her talons and lifted off into flight. She made a beeline toward the mew and made no effort to hide her approach. Once she was within earshot of the legendary, she did her best to hover while she shouted, "(Hey, what's the big idea, making all this mess?!)" she demanded. She didn't care if the mew had first dibs on this territory; as far as Bell was concerned, what she called hers was hers, and if anyone had a problem with that, they could battle it out.

As Rose was considering her next step, she saw out of the corner of her eye a red-and-white shape fly out of the trees. She turned to face it and found a Delibird flying towards her. Oh lovely, another pokemon already! But the Delibird was not happy with her, it seemed. Or at least with what she'd done to the landscape. Rose tilted her head, puzzled. <"Mess? I was making the opposite of a mess. I was building a place for lots of pokemon to live! I wanted to make spaces where all different kinds of pokemon would have a place. Look!">
She pointed out various features, explaining, <"It already had a stream, but in case larger water-types wanted to come, or any other pokemon that wanted to swim, I dug a pool. And see, there were some small caves already, but I made some bigger and made paths to get to the easily. And there's a bit of a wood here with some berry bushes so we should have plenty of food. And to help define the border of the main living area I planted rose bushes, because they're my favorite flower."> She turned to face the Delibird again, flicking an ear to indicate the rose tucked behind it.
<"So now it's all ready for more pokemon! Would you like to live here?" she offered cheerfully.

Her explanation sounded... reasonable. Bell relaxed her guard slightly, although she was still suspicious of the legendary. "(You want more pokemon to invade your territory?)" she asked incredulously, and intentionally ignoring the mew's question. Of course Bell wanted to live there; it was an ideal location. But something just didn't add up! Why would a mew want the company of strangers?
A small voice in the back of Bell's mind wondered if the mew was simply lonely. Heck, Bell knew that she was extremely lonely. She missed the days before humans had made an expedition far north, capturing her and her fellow delibirds. She missed the days that she had been part of a team, letting out her anger in the stadium. She had been restless and angry this whole time, in large part because she felt alone.
That didn't mean she would simply latch on to this invitation, however! Not until she knew it was safe and would be advantageous for her to join!

" "Rose retorted brightly. "" She finally paused for breath to indicate the home she'd made with a broad sweep of her arms.
After a pause, she lowered her arms and added in a somewhat more subdued tone, "" It wasn't reasonable to expect that lots of interested pokemon would just stumble upon the place. Maybe try and spread the word by word of mouth? Or she could always teleport around to areas where lots of pokemon gathered, like forests and ponds and things, and try to spread the word there. Whichever way she went, it would probable be some time before there were many more pokemon here. Still, trying to hunt for new inhabitants would be something fun to do.
