Mountain Lookout, 10am sharp.Following her own strict instructions, Shrill X was there perfectly on time (quite possibly a miracle considering how she’s slept through her alarm and then proceeded to throw said alarm out the window) and was really annoyed when her date wasn’t right there waiting for her. "Laaaaaaate, we’ll be laaaaaate," she whined loudly, leaning against the railing of the lookout. May Day was going to get an earful when he finally arrived, if he did arrive at all. When she’d declared they were going out together the next day he’d looked almost frightened. You’d think somebody so colourful would be super fun but he about as interesting as a wet paper bag. She’d decided to give him a chance anyway, just because she hadn’t had anything else planned today and she wanted to see if she could make him cry. "Come oooooooon." Two minutes late. Atmadja HORRIBLY BOTCHED DATE GO! to anyone else reading this, this could be your phony too

May Day looked around. Was this the right lookout? Was this the right phony? Was HE the right phony? How did this even happen? All he could remember about this girl was that Double Dare ran into her (or was it the other way around?) when she was a foal, and that her cute watermelon-haired sister had given them both a ... somewhat mild... earful.
Maybe she'd grown up different?
Oh! There she was! May Day cleared his throat and approached the mare, trying to look... well... not as nervous as he felt.
"Shrill?" he prompted in greeting.

"Look who finally decided to turn up," was the only greeting he received. Shrill X was still leaning on the railing, almost completely draped over it as she watched his approach though narrowed, judging eyes. There would have been more dramatics but they did have a schedule to keep and Shrill did not want to miss out. She pushed herself upright and swaggered over towards May Day. Stopping in front of him she pointed to the path that disappeared around the corner. "You better high-tail it up this trail mister. Come on now, move, move, move!" Atmadja I imagine she would have also made a good personal trainer...

Well, that was... not the reaction he'd expected. May Day immediately couldn't stop himself from blurting out a half-stammered apology, but there didn't seem to be any time for THAT, either. Immediately, he was being shoved toward a path, and the tall stallion nearly tripped over himself getting to it.
"Er -- yes -- sure -- okay -- OKAY!" May Day began to high-step it up the trail, trying not to sweat nervously as he did so. Part of him was too scared to even check if Shrill was behind him. "Are we -- is this -- a good pace, or, ah?"

"That's it, keep up the pace!" Shrill X was just one step behind him, ready to give him a prod up the a** if he dared to slow down. At least her mood had improved now that they were on the move and she ready to get to the action. Up the trail and around the corner and their true destination was finally revealed. A steel platform stretched out across a dizzying gorge, with business officials preparing ropes and harnesses. "Aaaaand stop!" Shrill ordered, coming to a halt herself. "Isn't it beautiful? You're in luck pal. This is the best spot in Phonyland for bungee jumping."

May Day kept his march going until he was told to stop. Truth be told, part of him wanted to go bolting up the trail and escape his capto--- er -- date, but another part of him was saying to at LEAST give the girl a chance.
It was the second part that went screaming, sailing out the window when he saw the ropes and harnesses.
"It IS beautiful," May Day allowed generously, trying not to sweat. "But -- You know -- I just -- maybe realized that you may have maybe been trying to ask out my brother, Dare."

Shrill X draped an arm over May Day's shoulders and gave him a companionable little shake. The gesture was part friendly and part designed to stop him from bolting back the way they'd come. "If I'd wanted to ask out Dare, I would have asked out Dare, but Dare is an idiot and I wouldn't jump off anything with him, even if it was the highest, coolest jump in the world." She thought about that for a second. "Well, maybe I would, but I'd ignore him while doing it." She gave him a little nudge towards the platform. "Alright, let's go. Oh and guess what?! I booked the pairs jump! Best date ever, right? You could try and look a bit more excited. I guess you're just overwhelmed by the sight."

Well... THAT was a nice thing to say. May Day couldn't help but give Shrill a smile as she spoke. At least that put the idea of mistaken identity out of May's mind. Although he still thought that this would be a much better date idea for Dare than for him.
At least he could see what Dare liked so much about this stuff, right? He gulped as he looked down, stepping into the harnesses.
"Yes. Definitely overwhelmed by the beauty." He looked over at Shrill. Maybe he could at least TRY to be smooth? "By... all the beauty."
Ohgod why did he try to be smooth, that sounded so smarmy, ohgod abort abort maybe he really SHOULD jump off this cliff--Ruriska ohmygod this date is hilarious

The assistants were on hand to help with harnesses, but Shrill X obviously knew what she was doing, slipping into her own with ease. She had just tightened a buckle when he tried to his super smooth line, her eyebrows flying up. "That was terrible," she told him with a laugh. "But keep trying." At least he was getting into the moment. "Alright, turn around and sit down, we've gotta line out backs together so we can both jump."

Mortified at himself and now QUITE ready to go leaping off a cliff, May Day gave Shrill a tight smile and allowed the assistants to buckle him into the Doom Device That Would Surely Kill Him, Sorry Dare, It Was Nice Knowing You, Please Tell Everyone He Loved Them.
With an unintelligible sound (it may have vaguely sounded like 'are you really sure about this?), he went where the assistants told him to, lined himself up, and squeezed his eyes shut.
Maybe now people would find out whether he really was filled with candy or not...

If she understood the strange mumbling, she didn't bother replying because she'd already pressed her back to his and moments later they were securely strapped together. They shuffled to the edge, one step from the giant fall and Shrill X gave a 'hoof up' to the assistants. "We're ready to go! Don't you dare close your eyes!" Not that she could see him, but there was nothing better than watching the world flying past and she didn't want him to miss it. "One, two-" If he expected her to get to three, he would be mistaken. On two she simply jumped, pulling him along with her into the air. Her delighted shriek followed them all the way down to the bottom where the rope caught them and tossed them halfway up again.

Okay, well, that was it. That was his life. That was everything all the time always goodbye world hello place that phonies go to after they get smashed to smithereens. Any affection May Day may have felt for Shrill was bounced out of his skull with all the pulling weight of gravity as she leapt on two like a crazy sadist, but there was a faint, weak thought in the back of his head that said:
No, no. No, thanks. She'd really be good for Dare, instead.
At some point, he noticed he was screaming.
As the bouncing began to settle, his eyeballs were no longer rolling in his skull, and May Day managed to croak: "You... should really meet my brother..."

Shrill took his screams as a good sign. There was nothing better then getting it all out in a good blood-curling screech. “Whaaahooooo!” They were spinning now instead of bouncing and Shrill X decided to gloss over his comment, as she was on a thrill seeker high and figured he probably needed a second to get a handle on how amazing that had been. “How AWESOME was that? We should do it again!”

"No," croaked May Day. He looked up and then down and pawed uselessly at his restraints, trying to figure out how he could, yanno, WALK AWAY. There had to be someone, somewhere, who could help him. "No, no. Thank you. No. Let's not. Let's never do that again. How do you get out of this, now? Do we dangle here forever? I -- I really think you'd get along with my brother. He... he loves this stuff. He's your man. Definitely. Totally."

Shrill X crossed her arms and made a very unimpressed face which unfortunately May Day couldn't see. "I TOLD you before, we've been over this, I wouldn't touch your bro with a ten foot pole. If he was the last Phony on earth, I wouldn't even go there. Well, maybe I would but I definitely wouldn't like it and it would be a very angry relationship." As she was speaking they were lowered the last few feet to the ground and a person ran over to unhook them. "Though you're obviously not my man since you're such a little whiny baby. Oh, no, no! Let's not do that again. Oh no, a little jump scared me soooo much.." She mimicked his voice, adding an extra pitch or two for good measure.
