It was a cloudy day on the mountain. It seemed like every day was a cloudy day in this place. Was it day? Night? Some new, previously undiscovered time involving no astral measurements whatsoever? Aymet had no idea. But boy, the climb up the mountain was unremarkable. It lent itself well to thinking about things entirely unrelated to climbing.

It was the falling rocks he noticed first. Periodically, far up the mountain, small round rocks seemed to dislodge themselves and go rolling down the mountainside at high speed. Since he was facing up toward the summit, it was not terribly difficult to sidestep them as they came racing down. But it struck him as odd. A seemingly limitless supply of rocks? Wouldn't the mountain crumble at that rate?

But they kept on coming all the same. Just more round rocks. Rocks that sometimes landed against a tree, or another non-rolling rock. And that was when he spotted it the first time. One of the rolling boulders uncurled, legs wriggling in the air as it sought to right itself. The stony exterior made of several plates that slotted together. Those weren't rocks...

They were lobsters.

Meaning that somewhere at the summit was a steady fountain of weird rolling lobsters. He paused to consider the possibility and what he would do if there was a very large, angry lobster guarding its lobstery clutch at the top.

Seeing no mother lobster at the summit, he scooped up an egg and made a beeline for the downward path, as the fury of a thousand lobsters rolled after him.

But the sheer numbers quickly grew overwhelming. It was like an endless cannon. There was nowhere to hold the egg where it wouldn't get hit.
