A random pony ran out a castle screaming while it looked like one of his arms had turned into a tree branch. Christina tried to catch up with her experiment, but in the end the pony got away. "Aw nuts. And I was so closed to figuring out if that spell was any good." She sighed a bit before whipping out her notebook and writing down what effects took place then put the notebook back in her satchel. "Alright I guess I could go and collect some more ingredients while I'm out here."

Milfoil heard the screams and headed towards them. He found a pony in transports of horror with a branch for a foreleg. "Ah," he said. He said this because 'That's very interesting' was something he had learned not to say out loud when someone appeared to have some odd kind of ailment.
"Good creature," called Milfoil to the branch pony. "I may be able to assist you."
Whether by sheer torment or exhaustion, the pony in the tree fainted and fell out at that moment.
"Hmm," said Milfoil, because he had learned that saying 'what good luck!' when something terrible, but interesting, was happening was impolite. He touched the branch all over, took a scraping into a vial and wrote something on a label he tied to it including the appearance of the pony he had taken it from. Then he selected several ingredients from his bag, poured them onto a bandage and wrapped the bandage around the afflicted limb. He then took a silver blade and made a cut in the pony's unafflicted leg and wiped the blood across the bandage.
"Blood usually goes on the inside, my good pony," he explained to the unconscious patient. "But that limb is not yours any longer and needs to be told how to fix itself using the good blood on the other side." He wrote a note and pinned it to the bandage.
Do not remove bandage for three days. If this treatment is unsuccessful, report promptly to the Magic Guild.
Following this was the list of ingredients he had used to treat the pony.
He continued on his way and saw a pony similarly outfitted to himself. "Am I to assume that the tree limbed pony I saw before was one of your casualties?" he asked her archly.

Christina had been taking down some notes on other plants until the green pony approached her. Her head snapped up when he asked her about the poor pony that had been tortured by her. "Do you mean the one with the tree branch for an arm?" She paused for a moment. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. It wasn't supposed to be like that. There's a spell you can cast on another pony that allows them to gain the power to control plants even if they aren't born with that talent." She took a book out from her satchel. "Although it would help if I had someone who knew what these hieroglyphs mean. My dad has a clue, but he refuses to teach me anything in this book."

Milfoil took the book from her without asking, ignoring social protocols demandin he ask permission. "some of these look familiar. Not all. Some of them are drawn th excessive flourish... This one could be 'tarigen'' but without context you can't make any sense of it. You could find out more in the magic guild."

Christina was a bit surprised with Milfoil's suddenness at first, but it didn't really anger her. She was chill so long as others weren't reprimanding her 24/7. She kind of admired others curiosity when it came to magic. "Ah so you know some magic too? That's cool." She paused for a second. "Where is the magic guild if I may ask?" She stopped herself again realizing she hadn't introduced herself yet. "Oh I'm Christina by the way. Sorry I didn't think of that sooner."

"I'm Milfoil," he muttered. He finally gave the book back to her.
"My family is quite magical, but I haven't any kind of magical ability. I work with plants to make medicines. I do know where the guild is, it's... I'll just take you there. It's a very tall building. I think that they build another floor whenever they get a new lecturer... I lecture occasionally."
He waited for a moment of increasing awkwardness. "Nice to meet you."
