Emerging from the candy store, the small satchel necklace she wore stuffed to the brim, Mint began to hum to herself in loud and bright notes, cheerful as she began the long trek home. It was a beautiful day, warmer than the previous colder ones, blue sky stretching out forever and the scent of sweets in the air.
Unable to resist, she opened the satchel around her neck and floated out a mint, feeding it to herself with a delighted sound amidst her hummed song.

 He hadn't been in this usual candy store for a while, the babby frequenting other places to test the waters -- but he found himself liking this place the best, the variety and smell was always the sweetest. And oh he was excited, running into the shop and ordering things in a frenzy -- there were more things he hadn't seen before! All the colours were different and pretty! And perhaps he took a bit more than he should have.. But for Creme, there was no regrets. With a ridiculously huge backpack on his back, the little phony trotted outside, the day already seemed wonderful! --- And now, Creme wasn't one to notice every little thing about everyphony but he noticed a light coloured phony have her bag full to the brim -- and he totally respected that! "Hey!!" He just so suddenly exclaimed. "What did you get from the store??" Creme said oh so casually, eyes still on her bag.

Mint turned in mid-hum, bright eyes fixing on the darker (and yet somehow brighter) male. She could smell the mixture of sweets that wafted from his overflowing bag; the babben was all too pleased to share her time with a fellow candy connoisseur. "Mints!" she chirped, tail wagging as she slowed her pace for the other to catch up easier. "Buttermints, like my name! Have you ever had them?"
She scarcely waited for him to speak before she was barreling onward in her own words, excited and eager. "They're smooth and melty and soft and light and they're wonderful! Here!" Using the same magic, she drew another mint out of her bag, floating it towards her new friend. "Nice to meet you!" Why yes, this was how she said hello!

And for a moment the babbin was stunned, bright eyes wide open at the other with a silly grin on his face. She had the same energy as he -- and she was speaking of sweets with such high spirits, Creme couldn't help but freeze for a moment!
"Butter-mint??" He said a bit too surprised than he intended. Even her name sounded delicious! "Your name sounds so delicious! And--ah! The actual candy--they're candy, right?" His cheeks flushed a little in his overeagerness, a little moment where his heart leapt as she gave him the mints -- to which he really immediately ate even as they were walking and the mints floating in the air!
"Mnghhrm--!!!!Crmbrnny!" They were soft and smooth and melty yes but Creme just didn't want to open his mouth and miss their flavour! They were wonderful! "Those were so great!!!! I'm Cremebunny! You're Buttermint!" He said, still excited. "Thank you for letting me taste!! Are you going to eat that all?" He said all that in almost a frenzy.

"I am Buttermint!" she crowed back, delighted, "And you can call me Mint if you'd like, Cremebunny!" She giggled, his compliments and manners very sweet and easily endearing her to the colt. "They aren't for me, I keep them to share with people I meet! Because everyone should have a little bit of something sweet. I firmly believe that!"
Continuing on their path, she veered them through the park, her pace still upbeat and her tone amicable. "What'd you get? Do you have a favorite to eat?"

"You are Buttermint--and buttermints are wonderful!!" He said cheerfully, practically beaming at the other. "For others?" And at that he was suddenly thoughtful-- that she gave to others made him rethink for a moment eating his whole backpack. "Everyone should have a little bit of something sweet... That' is sweet of you!" He said determinedly, almost clumsily now following at her, eyes definitely focused on his new friend. "Usually I just eat all of mine ..." he mulled, except for that one time he had shared it with a good friend now. Other instances he admittedly just ate it all...
"Mmm! Everything!" Was his simple answer, blinking back for a moment towards his back and then walking too fast he almost bumped her. "Oo-- sorry!" Again, he felt his heart beat a little faster and it was not from the sugar rush just yet. "I like... chocolate shaped everything, really! I've never tasted Buttermint before but that's now my second favourite!"

Mint laughed joyously as he claimed buttermints as his second favorite. "You wont know until you try everything, huh? Well then that's just what you'll have to do! Then you'll know --"
Before she could comment on the rest of his statement, she came to an abrupt halt as a small brown babben appeared in front of them. He was tinier than them, with big soulful green eyes and a bit of a dirty pelt. "I -- " his voice was soft, almost missed in a breeze. "I -- um, ha -- have you seen a small orange filly?" He looked embarrassed, uncertain, almost unwilling to have approached them. "My s-sister took my lunch and I can't find her..." He looked miserable.
The day was bright, but Mint's countenance softened considerably, a bit more somber. "I haven't seen her," she said apologetically, glancing to Cremebunny. "I'm Mint. Are you hungry?"
The brown bab's stomach growled softly in return. He shuffled his hooves in front of his stomach as though he could silence it, head lowered.

Creme was about to respond and tell her that's exactly what his goal was and everyday he was getting one step closer to it --! But that was certainly not the case when both their attentions went to a little babben that looked so very lost and distressed.
"Umm ----.." Not that Creme was a mean phony, it was just that he didn't know handle the, well, more sensitive situations. He looked over to Buttermint, watching her carefully, and learning from her concern. "You do seem hungry. Ah, I'm Creme!" He echoed, blinking at the phony as his huge bag slipped a little from his back, taking a moment of thought.
"Don't be sad! We have something for you." He turned his head to Mint, smiling.

She watched Creme with curious interest, and when his bag slipped and he smiled at her knowingly, it occurred to her what was on his mind. They'd just been talking about candy and brightening Phony's days -- this was a prime opportunity! As long as they didn't over do it, anyway.
"That's right!" she agreed, floating a few mints out of her bag and towards Creme's open bag. "Do you like candy? We have some we can share with you. Now," she gave the stunned looking babben a stern look, "this doesn't replace your lunch! But you can have a nice little snack and..."
Mint paused briefly. She didn't have a lot of mints to begin with, and if she gave anymore, she wouldn't even have enough for her family. Her heart won out, however, and without hesitation, she lifted more mints from her satchel. "...these are for your sister. She may be playing a joke but you must always love your siblings." Mint smiled to herself a little, thinking how little her own siblings would agree with her on that.

Truthfully, if he hadn't spoken to Buttermint, he wouldn't have too willingly given up his stack of sweets that he had just bought. But now it... it seemed right. To spread a little bit of sweetness in others lives. He smiled when he thought about that.
And so nodding his head at Mint, his bag moved from his back and he took out a smaller rainbow-decorated bag with chocolates shaped like flowers. "--Yes! Exactly!---Although sweets are the best part." Creme smiled slyly.
He watched Mint happily and placed the mints she had given in the colourful bag and tied the bow up neatly. "Yes--What Mint said!" He said rather uselessly, chuckling. "Share them and enjoy, okay? It will make everyone happier!"

Mint beamed at Creme, watching the stunned little Phony shyly accept the offered goods. "Th--thank you!" he said, the awe on his face making it clear he rarely received such a generous act. "I -- I will! Thanks and -- and good luck -- with whatever you're -- doing!" Blushing, the little foal turned and bolted back the way he'd come.
Bittermint looked to Creme and gently bumped her shoulder against his. "That was really nice of you," she said encouragingly. "You may not be able to eat them all yourself now, but you've made some others really happy, and that's really cool of you!"
She was so proud! Her new friend had done so well, and she couldn't be more pleased. If only she could always share such sweets with those around her...
...though, maybe, she could...
