Cain sat by his window and looked out at the ground beneath. It was raining something fierce, and the boy was feeling a bit glum. It was his birthday, and Abel wasn't there to celebrate it with him. Aedre had made sure to pop by and say hello, but Aedre was busy with his friend Quin. It left Cain brutally aware of just how lonely he had become. Before, his entire life had been so wholly invested in his connection with Abel ... but now, Cain was finding he was being left behind more and more frequently. Was it because he was less outgoing? Or because his moods were unstable? Was Cain hard to approach? Was there something unlikable and unloveable about Cain that he just couldn't see ... ?
Giving a heavy sigh, Cain sunk in to himself, burrowing his forehead against his knees. He was being told to focus on his future. To try and start really thinking about what he wanted to be. He was about to enter senior year, and Cain couldn't be any further away from knowing what he wanted. Well, that was partially untrue. Cain wanted to feel loved. To have someone be there for him in any way, shape, or form that would take. So long as someone showed him some sort of attention, Cain would be happy. Was that really too much to hope and to ask for? Cain felt his heart sink in his chest. Why couldn't he be more like Abel? Abel was so popular and had serial girlfriends over they years ...
... Maybe he just wanted made to share love with someone ...
Pulling his feet in even closer, Cain pulled himself away from the window before getting to his feet. School ... he needed to focus on his school work. He couldn't let the depression settle in ...
