Opal was lonely. She'd never thought about it much before meeting Terach and having offspring, but she was now. Her offspring were grown and no longer needed her (although Pearl was constantly asking for some kind of help). Opal lay in the tall grass behind her companion's home, thinking about how she used to be happy just to be away from everyone. Okay, mostly just Lyme. She rolled her eyes as she thought about the bright green nuisance, and his near-constant drunkenness. A memory of Lyme and Pearl when Pearl had been little sprang into Opal's mind, and she chuckled to herself. It had been the only time she'd felt sorry for the a**. The poor sap had offered to babysit so Opal could have a little time to herself. By the time she'd returned, half the cottage had been coated in various colors and substances, with Lyme in the middle of it all, attempting to corral a young and springy Pearlesce to clean her up so he wouldn't get in trouble. With a sigh, Opalesce laid her head across her from paws and closed her eyes in the warm sunlight. She knew she should get back, but everything would be fine for a while longer.

Israel was a bit confused. When he had met Alanis he had thought she was the one. He had enjoyed their time together and couldn't help but think of her every time he woke up. He thought he had finally found that happiness that he had been looking for for so long. However, she had left. She had at least told him she had to go, something to do with her human, but it didn't stop that pain in his heart. He missed her, and he had missed his child that had gone with her.
These days, he had been keeping himself busy by perhaps being an overprotective father of Amara, something he was sure she hadn't extremely appreciated. She had done her best to try to push her father out, trying to get him to make more of his life, but lately, she seemed to have given up. This was something that hadn't quite sat well with him, so he decided to take himself out without her prompting, even though he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do when he got there.
Being outside, however, he had to admit that the sun felt good on his fur and wings. It had been too long since he had last felt the warmth of the day. Perhaps, it was finally time for him to stop sulking about Alanis and start to do something more with his life. He wouldn't let himself turn into his sister, he just couldn't.

Opal's ears twitched as she heard a faint rustling, like someone walking close by. Standing she looked around, attempting to locate the sound. Carefully scanning the field behind her human's home, Opal began picking her way through to the other side. It seemed like she saw something shine over that way, but perhaps it was nothing. Besides, what would be out in the middle of nowhere, besides the woodland creatures that lived closer?

Israel was doing his best to just enjoy the light, not paying much attention to what was around him, not many things would mess with an elder demon, that he hadn't even noticed Opal. When he turned his head and saw her, he gave a brief smile. "Hello!" He had always been much more of a friendly demon, and even in this state that wasn't something he had lost. He hoped the female would at least stay to talk to him for a little while.

"Oh!", Opal started as she came upon an elder male she'd never seen before. "I'm sorry! I heard something and came to see what it was. Sorry to bother you." she quickly apologized and started back the way she came.

He tilted his head, a bit confused at her reaction to him. Had he spooked her somehow? "You really don't have to leave..." He stated, hoping she'd turn around for a moment. "I'd be nice to have some company for a change."

Opal turned back to look at the stranger. "Oh...alright", she replied, hesitant. She was unsure about this male, but he seemed pleasant enough. "My name is Opal. I live just on the other side of the field here. We never get anyone out here, really, so you surprised me.", she explained, sitting in front of her stranger.

He smiled gently, trying to reassure her that he meant no harm. He really wasn't used to people being afraid of him, most people just walked all over him and didn't care about what he felt. It was... rather strange to him. "It's nice to meet you, Opal. I'm Israel. I hope I'm not intruding too much. My daughter thinks I need some time out of the house, so she convinced me to take a walk." He hoped he didn't look too horrible, he had brushed his fur before leaving, but it had been a while since he had been out among others and really wasn't sure what was acceptable anymore.

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Israel. No intrusion, jut surprised me is all" She laughed. "Ah, daughters. I have one, too. Pearl. Bit of a handful, but she's well-meaning.", she replied. Opal crooked her head a little to better examine the male. He was fairly handsome, and seemed rather genuine, and she was beginning to feel more at ease. "So, what do you normally do to keep yourself busy, when you're not out walking?" A fairly harmless question, she hoped.

He couldn't help but nod, a slight chuckle coming from his throat, "It seems we have something in common then, my daughter is also a bit of a handful at times. She makes things interesting though and she's my whole world." As far as the question went, it took him a moment or two. "I'm a healer of sorts. I grow herbs and flowers to help tend to wounds or other ailments, so I spend most of my time in my greenhouse or seeing patients. What about you?"

Ah, an interesting male! "A healer? Oh, that's much more interesting than anything I do. I mostly just keep Lyme from peeing on the carpet...most days. What kinds of flowers do you grow? I love flowers, but I can't grow anything to save my life.", she chuckled. "Lyme probably pees in all of my plants like the hooligan he is, anyways.", Opal rolled her eyes and smirked. The green jackass probably did, knowing him. Ugh, why was she even talking about Lyme? Probably because he was the most interesting demon in their house.
Opal cleared her throat. "I do love being outside, though. There's a nice spot down by the river not far from here I like to go. Maybe I can show you sometime. All sorts of pretty flowers grow there, too.", she said, hoping she wasn't being too forward with the new male.

Artymus Should we go ahead and enter them in the breedings? He tilted his head to the side, listening to her speak. "Lyme? I'm guessing that's a housemate of yours?" He really wasn't sure if he should make that assumption since his only housemates were his sister and her kids, other than his own. He also wasn't sure how to take a demon peeing on things... maybe it was a dog?
He let the thought slide as she continued to talk. "All kinds. I'd be here all day if I tried to recite every single one. Some of the more common ones are carnations, jasmine, lilacs, peonies, and roses. A lot of flowers you would never guess has some sort of medicinal purpose. Maybe I could show you my garden someday. And if you ever need help growing any of them, you can always ask" He gave her a smile and nodded at the thought. "I wouldn't mind checking out the river. I'm sure there are lots of nice flowers growing there."

Opal chuckled, "yes, Lyme is a housemate. Might as well be the family mongrel since he has no manners. But he gets along with Pearl, so I tolerate him." She chuckled again. Trying to eject Lyme from their lives would be harder than granite with Pearl around to defend the lout. But that was an issue to ponder for another day, and certainly not in the company of this male she was growing rather fond of the more they conversed.
"I'd love to see your garden. I bet it's lovely. And some help would be wonderful! I definitely need fertilizing and soil advice. I wouldn't know the proper soils from a hole in the ground." Chuckling again, she decided to be bold. "Well, if you have the time, would you like to go now? It's only a few minutes' walk from here..."
