For once this week it was a lovely, cool evening on the boardwalk. Lieutenant had taken the walk along the beach into town on her own, hoping to clear her head from the chaos in the house and maybe even grab a bite to eat while she was out. It was a welcome respite, that was for certain.
With the dawning realization that she was getting another sibling in the next few weeks that familiar feeling of dread- jealousy, even- had curled into her chest. Belle and Cavalier had never understood, and even if Lady felt it too she had taken to long treks through the coastal woods instead of lurking around the house these days. Although there was no reason for her to fear... she was irritated.
It would all blow over in a few weeks, she knew. Things like this always did. In the meanwhile she was sour and cross, and in desperate need of some sort of boardwalk treat to distract her.

Morovi was chilling in front of the Cotton Candy Stand. He liked hanging out here, he felt his colors and the Candy's matched nicely. The people who ran the stand didn't seem to care, either, so it was perfect. At the moment, he had even bought some, and was nomming on it, making soft contented noises. Sweet, sugary goodness! He'd never met a cotton candy he didn't like, and he hoped he never would, because the idea that it might ever happen was horrible.
He loved it here, too, almost as much as he loved the Cotton Candy. In the evenings, there were so many bright lights, and excited people enjoying the cooling air. Sometimes there were fireworks, and there was always lots to see and do. And no one seemed to care about random winiko hanging out, as long as they weren't being dickheads. He sighed softly, and glanced up, before noticing a black and purple winiko heading down the boardwalk nearby. He didn't know her but... hey, it was worth saying hello. "Hey there!"

Lieutenant was pulled quickly back into the present when she was addressed; she certainly had not expected another winiko to address her out here... and a stranger, at that. For a moment she nearly bristled in defense at him, but he seemed harmless enough and the confections at the stand behind him were definitely catching her eye.
"Hello," she replied carefully, pausing on the boardwalk a few feet away, "You look quite comfortable."
She hoped it sounded friendly enough; meet and greets were not her forte and most of them ended in strong-worded spats. Maybe for once she could curb her behavior long enough for civil conversation.
