The Monitor Room & Sunstone Simulator
The Sunstone simulator is a highly advanced computer network that operates off the self-replicating pneumatic Sunstone Crystals. This simulator is the virtual embodiment of all Kryptonian knowledge and culture. Thanks to the adjustments made by Batman, Cyborg, the Atom, the Sun and re-worked leftover technology from Braniac, the Sunstone Simulator has also been re-worked so that it is similar in nature to that of the Monitor Room of the Justice League. This re-working allowed Superman to view multiple locations around the globe whenever he was in the Fortress. Furthermore, by sliding specific crystals into their corresponding receptacles, Superboy can activate a holographic simulation of the man he has come to view as an older brother, Kal-El. The Kal-El simulation is programmed to speak and react as if he were still a living, conscious being. Kal-El serves as the AI of the Fortress of Solitude and is able to activate and deactivate various items throughout the Fortress at will. Similarly, while serving as his AI, he is able to advise Superboy while he is out of the Fortress via the specially made comm device that he keeps in his ear.
Krypto can often be found laying down in the Monitor Room as he guards both the computer and his former master's Sunstone Crystal. Given that Krypto has the same powers as a full-grown Kryptonian, along with a super howl, he's quite the guard dog.
