Bio:
Born into nothing, the earliest memories he has are of him trying to find scraps of food in the street. A poor wretch who was orphaned at a young age by pirates, Lir knew nothing of a family's love or tender touch. At age seven, he found himself attacking what looked to be a rich man with lots of money, only to find out he didn't have what it takes to be a thief. With the sword of a nearby guard pointed at his throat, he stayed calm knowing death would be a release.
The man who he had tried to rob stopped the boys execution and took a long look at him. "I like the look in your eyes. How would you like to have a home?" With a nod, Lir was adopted into the house of a prominent naval commander and noble who had no heir to speak of. From that point, he was schooled in the way of diplomacy and battle tactics; groomed to be the heir his father always wanted to have.
Ten years later at age 17, Lir joined the navy in hopes of pleasing his adoptive father and spent two and a half years on a boat and in other lands learning how to fight and even picked up how to use a scythe from an air kingdom mercenary. His ship was attacked by pirates, ending with a severe burn on his left hand.
Obtaining early leave from his injury while on duty, Lir arrived back home to his father who had great news for him. In his elderly age and failing health, his father had pulled some strings with other nobles to get Lir to become a candidate for marriage to the princess of the Water Kingdom. Lir did not agree with this at first, but several days later on his deathbed, Lir's father made him promise to be a candidate in his honor.
He agreed begrudgingly and ended up being hand picked by the Queen to marry her daughter. Lir came to accept the queen, and quickly learned that she was not as cold as she projected. He ended up losing his eye in a sparing match against her in which she got too competitive. He does his best to reign in his wife's brutal tendencies while also trying to help run the kingdom as well as relations with other countries. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
Personality:
Lir is a responsible man who has seen both hardship and happiness. His strict upbringing under his adoptive father has him in control of his emotions, enabling him to be an effective diplomat under most circumstances. He has a calm and charming demeanor which often lends itself to his needs as king. An accomplished strategist and warrior, he is perhaps one of the few who could defeat the queen in battle. Though he has little ambition, he does what he can for his family and his people. He does have an unfortunate trait of telling horrible jokes and provoking his wife at any opportunity he gets. Under stressful circumstances, his anger can get the better of him causing him to yell when he speaks. Lir refuses to use the sword his father gifted him for going into the military, as it is a keepsake of the only man who dared see worth in a filthy street urchin.

Powers:
Advanced water manipulation- Can manipulate water currents and surface tension to act as a whip-like weapon or walk upon water, as well as creating a mist cloud of a 30m radius. Anger or another equally intense emotion can reduce his ability to control the currents or disrupt it entirely.
Healing-can use water to heal minor wounds, or use blood infused water to heal large wounds. Cannot regenerate limbs, and blood water treatment may cause passing out to him as well as rejection symptoms (extreme pain, nausea, shock etc.) in some patients.
Shield- Can manipulate currents and surface tension to create a dome shield around an individual/group of individuals, shield is solid both ways, cannot be walked through, but traps oxygen inside a domed area meaning limited usage. A larger affected area also assumes less strength and shield can be broken more easily. A personal shield is enough to stop a large projectile such as a boulder twice the caster's size. Requires intense concentration for larger areas.
Water blade-Uses water manipulation to create a high pressure water cutter that can cut through stone, but not metal. Mostly used for deflecting attacks rather than attacking.
