Like I came up with that list so fast - there was deffo a lot of overlap whee but thank you for loving my weird brain xd

Love that idea for a trophy since there's so many flipping birds in the song rofl

OMG CONGRATS and are you SURE you're gonna be okay helping?!?!? You got a whole a** wedding to go to and you're the star! But if you're sure, maybe you could be the day shift for the tracking - we could have a joint google sheets doc. I'm in CST, but I'm usually up till 3am lol
RE: joint avimas acct with the faving - I could also do this and screen the pages for any that might've been missed (typically posts at the end of the page sometimes get glossed off esp if convos are happening).
Alternate idea: have a thread where people only submit their avi submissions, but are more than welcome to double post in the thread as well with their lore
In general RE: prizes ideas - do we want to do prizes? are we capping amounts for prizes? I know gaia is gonna release something seasonal during it so maybe pick up one of those as a "grand prize". Probably a prisma or landscape item - which would work out with us doing this earlier so they could actually use the item for the remainder of the month, but deffo hinges on gaia posting appropriately early enough. Wish we had an insider who knew.
re: faving I'm in EST time and on work days (Mon-Thurs) I can only check gaia briefly on my phone during the day, I'm able to check on my laptop like 8pm-10pm and on weekends much more (Fri-Sun). So if you need a daytime person, not sure if it makes sense for it to be me. It would be easier to split the load with a shared account, though.
And as for the separate thread idea, for the 30 Days Has September thread they did the opposite where the main thread was for people to just post their entries (in this case could be avi + lore) and then there was a chatterbox sister thread for people to discuss and double post to their hearts content. I personally like the idea of the main thread being neater and easier to follow and then there's the chaotic chatterbox thread for people who really want to socialize, but I can see the argument for doing it the other way.
re: prizes I think the trophies are prize enough, I kind of like the purity/simplicity of not having a "monetary" prize.
I work some weird hours and days ngl xd Mon 11-6, Tues typically off, W-Th 11-6, F-Sat 10-8, Sun 10-3, so I can typically pop on during my lunch break which is 230-330 but then I'm usually not on until after work.
Im kinda open to either or on the splitting the thread up one way or the other, it amounts to the same thing either way - just makes sense for one space to be more organized so even if we do end up with only us night-time trackers, it'll be a bit easier to kinda spot everything. Plus more people might be posting later anyway since they may have to get their shopping done sooner.
RE: prizes Sounds good to me and less work for other folks

Also, if we're not doing locked trophys this time, we should probs state that up front so folks aren't trying to wrack their brains trying to figure it out xd

Ah, good to know about the PM. I can definitely understand the sentiment, which is why I mentioned it in my feedback, but I also see the justification for including it as a trophy as well since it is meant to be a challenge. There weren't any prizes outside of posting at least once in the 30 Days Has September writing challenge, but I know myself and a several other people would pop in at whatever random time we could (sometimes in the very early am hours) just to get something in for each day. I think what would help is letting people know about the "hardcore mode" extra challenges right at the start, and maybe getting the thread up a little early so people can pre-plan if they are worried about missing something. Adding some MVP style trophies at the end to special users who do something exceptional I think is also easier for people to accept.
So. About hardcore mode. I had ZERO IDEA about any of that from the start. Like, I toyed with the idea of doing a participation trophy at the end for everyone who entered (like, on the fourth day, not before the challenge started). But it wasn't even a twinkle in mine, or Curre's eye until I was messaging with Gnocchi and was all 'you know what would be really cool?' AND THEN WE SCRAMBLED to make it happen lol. So I don't disagree, it would have been cool to introduce that at the beginning. But also, I think posting it at the beginning might have thrown off people who wanted to do it just for the thrill of it. By establishing that it was just for fun right off the get-out, I think it took the whole "oh, I have to compete? well than, that's not for me" conversation off the table. It's also why I emphasized in the first post that there were no planned prizes, no golden buzzer, etc. It wasn't for the interest of a huge payout, we were just playing dress up.
But people were doing such EXTRA things!! Like, rapid fire. Two looks a day, lots of blood, struggling through certain days, even without confidence. I felt like we needed to salute that in a way, it was NUTS. Thus, trophies. Lol.
So I dunno'. I did get further pm feedback from 2 people saying they probably wouldn't have done it, especially for trophies if they weren't already in knee deep. And I laughed because, bish--same. rofl
I will also say that I didn't want everyone to be able to get every trophy. I did that intentionally lol. I wanted everyone to feel different and unique and like what they did in AVITOBER was as varied as their looks. Like, I didn't do absurd because I don't want it on my shelf lol, but also I got none of the extras and that's okay. I think there's a lot to be said for having trophies that are varied as we are, and different levels of play that the more competitive people can reach towards. Never would I EVER want to compete for a bloody perf. trophy lol, but Babb and Curre were clutching with both hands and it made me giggle. I think it kept us in a level of play, even if we weren't going to get it. We enjoyed watching them compete, olympic-style. Like we were all in on the joke.
I was just thinking though, if we wanted to. This time, we can offer each trophy, and if someone does the MOST of something, it can be GOLD instead of silver. So we can color code it to make it special. So the person who pb+j'd the most can have the trophy be gold on their shelf, while everyone else who pb+j'd would get a silver cast.
OKAY. NEW QUOTE. THERE'S A LOT IN THERE. I'M SO SORRY. MOVING ON.

Thank you!! It's going to be very very casual, just a quick ceremony at a public park and then dinner with our parents, but I do want to make sure I spend an appropriate amount of time with my spouse rather than on gaia Everything is planned and booked already, so it's more likely that something will come up at work that distracts me than the wedding.
Oooo, my wedding was like that too!! Very small, I only had my parents and his and our siblings. Large gatherings like that terrify me, I would never do a large procession like that. My mom had to force me into doing graduation for high school, and my husband from college lol, or I wouldn't have walked in either of those. SO I CAN APPRECIATE A SMALL GATHERING. Lol, admire you for being all 'hey, I gotta' make an effort for my new marriage.' You're a hoot. I think we can cover that whole last day so you can be free to just come on and chill if you'd like. o wo;;; Oooooo, I'm so excited for youuuuuu!~

Just a random thought: I know for some of the GCD event threads like the summer sale and black friday sale events they have a generic "host" account that multiple people log into, that way multiple people can edit the front page posts of the thread depending on who is online. Would something like that make sense here? That would also work for the favorites, we could have a "Avitober Christmas" account and the fave collections could all live under that user, so even if I'm not available on a specific day I could ping the group and someone else could fill them in while still keeping them all in the same place.
I do like this in a sense. But I would rather we all have our reps attached to the front page. I think a generic host makes it...less about us users taking time to put it on, and makes it--well, more Gaia's thing where they have a NPC for everything (HELLO EGG, I'M LOOKING AT YOU).
I do love the idea of keeping all the favorites on a central generic user though lol. I will be deleting the AVITOBER ones on my account, probably after the new year. (I'll screenshot all the entries from this year--and save those pics to the archive). Because that scroll fatigue to get to my lists is real lol. lol I'll set up an email/account today for the generic account and link all its information in the AVIMAS sub-forum so we all have access.

Yeah that's kind of exactly what I was thinking bc people tend to get so busy later in the month of dec!
YES please share the submission feedback so we can incorporate that into things.
As far as my skills go: I am very good at analyzing qualitative data (esp for studies and surveys). I'm not the best at using advanced excel, but for basic organizational lists, tracking, etc. and some easy math, I am good at that much with it. I am generally an insomniac night owl and with the time change, my sleep schedule is mucked up good xd So I can help be a tracker, but maybe we could have a duo of us so someone takes the earlier shift in the day when I am sleeping and/or working.
I'm also super good at offering up ideas and bouncing off other folks' input when it comes to brainstorming (hence this post lol) heart
Feedback has just been added to the Avitober archive! 3nodding Go willllddddddd.
Alright, so for during the duration of the 12 days. (Subject to change/adjusting, obv.) So we have Mallow/Battea: Tabulating/Announcing Trophy Updates Lamb: Thread Hypewoman/ ....lamb. help me out here. what are we doing with you? what do you want to do? = w=;;; Gnocchi Dokie: Art nook participant/runner? Niomo: General Host, Art nook participant/runner? Rule layerdowner, ummmm.
So this also brings up an interesting dilemma. Pail/Cauldron favorites: rebranded as the Santa Sack? Do we want to find a way to do those for this mini challenge? Is that something we'd like to do in rotation? THAT I feel okay with putting the generic guild account on for the first page for. Then people can update it it's their day to pick or whatever.
(Also, apparently I have supreme power in this guild lol, and can edit other people's posts?) So, question--Battea, do I have your permission to edit your first post on this thread? I'd like to add details as I think of them, but totally understand if you don't like that. emotion_yatta
