A winged male burst out the the water's surface and pulled himself up onto dry land. Drops were profusely falling to the ground from his wet fur. The male shook himself to dry off, sending multitudes of the water droplets in every direction.
He scanned his surrounds and a smile crossed his face. This seemed like a good place to him. He trotted a few feet further up the shore and layed down, stretching out his spotted wings to their fun span to dry off from his afternoon swim.
The sunlight began to make the lion feel soporific. He began to doze off, thinking of how glad he was to be fully grown, and hoping he would have a good, strong pride in this wondrous place...

Briseis a young lioness almost full grown had gone out wandering. She had no idea where she was and was oblivious if she was in anyone's territory. The ligress glanced around her azure eyes beaming. She thought she heard something just over the brush. She padded over quietly and a bit stealthy. She had come across a male and he had wings. She had never seen a lion with wings and at this it intrigued her. She debated whether to make herself known or not. He could possibly be a rogue lion who she couldn't trust. If Rackna found out about her wanderings he probably wouldn't be to happy.

Romeo lazily opened his eyes. He could have sworn he sensed something nearby, but perhaps it was just his imagination. He shut his eyes again, trying to return to sleep, but he should not shake the strange sensation that he was being watched.
He lifted his head and scanned his surroundings, but was unable to see where the lioness was. Assuming he was alone, he stood up to full height, folding his wings against his back. He was almost fully dried off now, and was begining to get a bit thirsty. He walked over to the river, and lowered his head to its surface to begin drinking up the refreshing water.

Briseis watched him, he seemed timid. She exited from the brush and to the water, she herself was feeling quite parched after she had seen him getting a drink. She figured she should refresh herself. She watched him with vidgilance. Was he a harm to her, she would find out. She was around six feet away from him, which to her seemed like a good distance. Her tounge left her mouth and she drank with elegance trying to impress him as if she were royalty of some kind. She pretended however if she didn't mind him being there or if she cared.

Romeo looked up after quenching his thirst, seeing the lioness. He watched her for a moment, somewhat intrigued that she took so much care even into the way she drank water.
Unsure of how to respond to the unexpected presence of another at first, he called out to her, "Hello there, miss. What brings you out here?"

She looked up and sat down on her haunches. "I don't know, I've just never been out here so I suppose I just went exploring." she nodded. "Are these your lands, sir?" she asked trying to appear proper rather than her usual carefree self. Her azure eyes peered at him intently.

He chuckled slightly, "I ended up here not long ago myself, so I don't know if these lands would necessarily be considered mine or not. But this place does seem rather nice, and I do intend to at least stay in this area for a while... Unless they already belong to someone." He paused for a moment, "By the way, what is your name?"

"Briseis," she replied simply and sweetly. "And yours?" she asked. Her ears flickered forward and her muscles relaxed a bit. She was tense earlier from not knowing if he was an enemy or not, but he seemed okay. Her tail flickered a bit as she tilted her head inquisitivly.

"Pleasure to meet you, Briseis." He nodded his head once in respect. "My name is Romeo." He realxed a little aswell. Briseis did not seem like a threat to him, and far from hostile.

"Pleasure to meet you aswell Romeo." she replied still in awe with his wings. Wondering how he got them and such. She was so peculiar to them she didn't notice she was staring at them.

He smiled, somewhat amused by her fascination with his wings. They had fascinating to him too, when he had first noticed them as a cub. He was now far more adjusted to them as he was back then, and found them to be quite useful.

The pink form of Wildberry was outlined by the desert's light blue sky, a small speck of color against the large blue canvas. Her violet eyes scanned the new grounds worridly, her flakes twitching eagerly as she smelled the farmiliar scent of Romeo. She slowed to a walk, a small spark of doubt clouding her mind. What if he wouldn't accept her? She had dashed off from her father's land in haste, from fear that he might not let her come... but what if she hadn't been wanted from the beginning?

The female looked to the skies. "The sun...I have to be getting back, I usually converse with my King at this time, I'm so sorry." she looked a bit frantic. "I'll come back, promise." and with that she scampered off back to where she had came from.

Romeo was a bit surprised at Briseis' frantic behavior and sudden leaving. He was going to say goodbye to her, at least, but she seemed far out of earshot by the time he thought of doing so.
He went back to the water's edge, and took a few more large gulps of the cool water. His thirst having been sufficiently quenched, he sat. His eyes boredly scanned his surroundings, untill they fell upon a cave upstream. Strange, he thought, I could've sworn I didn't notice that before...
He debated whether he should investigate it, but decided that perhaps it would be better to wait. He walked over to the shade of a boulder, and rested beneath it, still quite bored, and wishing he wasn't alone... Unaware that someone was on her way...
