This will be a very casual and mundane dress (mostly due to the recycled cotton material) with a little decoration, like the waist ribbon on the front and hand-knit lace on the hem. The lenght is from waist to knees.

There are more pleads on the back to reflect the "bum-heavy" Victorian style although they won't show as much with the amount of fabric I'll have to use.
The laces are just examples of possible lace concepts - I'm still searching for the right pattern to this.

The main thing I'm debating on is whether to make the lace and ribbon white, black, or the approximate colour of the dress to have it fit the rest of my wardrope. I'd be propably wearing this alot with a simple, home-made petticoat or without, though I might use the concept to do something classier later.

Comments, critique?

i would sugest making the ribbon black so you can wear black shoes with it. black shoes are way more common and easier to take care of then white shoes. and if the dress is a real dark blue white shoes would pop out wayyyy to much.

no sleeves? no straps? i think some cute puff sleves would be awsome espically with how you make the skirt sound, plus sleves would make it dress code for mots schools.

I have a few shirts that can be worn with it - most of all I'm trying to get a dress here that matches with many different things. 3nodding
I'm propably making a blouse like that as soon as I find some materials - luckily I don't have to fit in any dress code since universities here don't have such.

"My panties want to see the world."

The best mini-miniskirt description I've ever heard rofl

By the way, it looks really nice! I agree with the black lace idea, though. But I'm biased, since I dislike white xd
