The power also goes out when people drive into telephone poles. Very annoying. A friend of mine did that and knocked out power to half our road. Fortunately not my half biggrin

lol@ Wakka

My power goes out frequently enough that I've got battery backup on my alarm clock. The bosses aren't very forgiving the third time (or more, eesh) that one is late to work with the same excuse. Of course, I'm outside of the city power, so whenever the township grid goes through any sort of fluctuation, we lose power. Some of those outages have pretty funny causes - there was this one time that a squirrel apparently decided that the power house would be a good place to store a pile of nuts. He, uh, got a little too close to the wires. Half a day and a fried squirrel later, we got power back.

Squirrels were responsible for three power outages at my high school I remember. Called it Sparky's Revenge or something like that. It was really awesome getting out of class.

Funny how this was created on Thursday.

Caz its the same day that half the island had a blackout from mid-morning to late afternoon. Half of them got power back, the other half got it a few hours later.

At first, it was the east-south to south side of Oahu. Then a few hours later, it was the west to west-south side. If you look on a map, it'll be from Waimanalo all the way curving to Waikiki, and the entire Ewa.

But anyways, on other talk, the only reason why we get blackouts [for example Thursday's epic] is if there's a failed generator. On our "45 consecutive days of rain" in March - we haven't had one blackout in Kailua, from what I remember.

I'm glad I live in good ol' predictable England, I seriously cannot remember the power going out here for longer than it took to stick a new fuse in the fuse box.

Skully's trying to drive his post count up and brag about England at the same time, I see. Three times. =P

Power outages at school are great. One happened this year and one last year. The administrators always freak out. Unfortunately, it hasn't been for long enough so that they have to send us home.

Has nothing to do with my post count, I just love England, I have my giant England flag that used to be on my wall hanging out of my window for the world cup and it's space on my wall has been filled with a giant Union Jack, I just love my country that much. wink

Anyway, back on topic, I have no lights on right now, but I do have power, as always.

I have power, but we had another storm last night and I wasn't sure it would stay on, but it did.
