Margaux often wondered why the world constantly crouched down and poo'd right on her.

She thought she'd found happiness; love, contentment; hell, she'd even had children with the guy. But those children had all grown up and thrown away her title as a mother straight down the waterhole.

So Margaux sat, alone, underneath a dying weeping willow. It was in one of the worst parts of the known Realm; rumors were flyign around that the evil shaman loitered around there, along with Hades and all the other gruesome names. But Margaux didn't feel a need to locate safer ground; she was hidden well enough by the sad excuse for leaves that the tree possessed and hung over her.

Margaux exhaled, arranged her wings in a more comfortable position around her body, and planned on closing her eyes for the last time.

Inigo beat his powerful wings against the early morning air, trying to get the dew off that had settled overnight. Shaking himself thoroughly, he rid himself of the wet susbstance, insuring his chance of not being so fnarking cold.

He trotted slowly towards his favorite spot; a large dying weeping willow. It was perfect for him. He would go in there, sit in his favorite spot, and compose. He would compose plays for the highest royalty, or the lowest peasant [ whatever that was ]. He would write sonnets about nothing. He would even start short stories to tell to the foals when he got back.

As he slipped under the veil of leaves, he saw a black mare. What was she doing here? He hid under the leaves, trying not to be seen; maybe she'd leave soon?

... Dying took way too long for Margaux's liking.

Tisking, the mare opened up her eyes again and glared at the willow's bough, as if it was the tree's fault for prolonging her existance. Pssh. Probably was.

Margaux figured that, even though she was tiny in comparison to almost every grown Yumahou in the realm, maybe she could be remembered as a hero if she took down one of the killers in a fight to the death. And if she wasn't, it was a much faster way to die.

With that thought in mind, Margaux rose and walked slowly towards the north side of the tree. She hadn't eaten in a while.. hmm. Might want to fix that if she planned on taking on one of the bigwigs.

Her shnoz bumped into something hard yet soft, and Margaux's instincts kicked in as she scuttled away, blowing air through her nostrils. Looking up, she greeted the demon with a bewildered gaze.

Inigo stared down at the female; he was much, much larger than she. He stepped back a bit, intimidated surprised by the female's presence.

"Who are you?!" he began suddenly, puffing out his chest and spreading his wings wide. His voice boomed throughout the tree, and a flock of itty bitty birds flew away from the top. "And what are you doing near my tree?!"

Inigo decided to be a butthead today. But, still, he had to agree with himself, this... tiny female was near his tree. Nobody goes near his tree. Nobody.

Except the female... What was wrong with her that she didn't know that it was his tree?

Had Margaux's brain been in ready, working order, she would not have answered. She would have turned tail and fled, working her short legs for all they were worth (since her wings were large and bulky in comparison to her body. She had... difficulty flying). But, it was not; it was tired of working a body that hadn't any nourishment, and thus left Margaux on her own.

So, Margaux blinked a few times before straightening up as high as she could, fixing a glace onto her face, ignoring the first question, and cockily saying, "Your tree? You can't own something that belongs to the land, you doofus."

Hmm. This didn't sound at all like her. Margaux decided that, since he was a demon and waltzing around this part of town, he must've been up to no good. Maybe he was in league with Hades? She'd been hearing that stupid pigheaded excuse for a mare had been gathering up some cronies... Margaux upped her babykillingglare (copyrighted) up a notch as she believed the tale that she had woven.

(Oh, I believe you. XD It's just a funny title. Kinda like Peaches.)

Inigo shifted his position. After the mare's tree remark, he replied without hesitation; "It's in my territory. Besides, why do you think a demon is in these parts?" He laughed, both sarcastically and maniacally.

He folded his wings back in and brushed past the mare to get to the bough of the tree. He stared up at the tree longingly; longing for what, he did not understand. But being around the tree brought a terrible sadness, and it overwhelmed him.

(( xD It's a good song! At the end, after complaining and being emo, he's like, "Diary, I think you're the only one that understands me.... I feel like tacos." ))

A snooty remark died on her lips when she saw his completely open and honest expression, leaving her jaw open for fly catching. She'd never seen a face look so pure, despite the horns framing it and the sharp angles that undoubtedly marked a demon.

I'll just leave, then, Margaux thought, quietly flicking out a lanky wing to hold aside the brush that blocked her exit.

".. Right. Good luck to you, then," Margaux nodded once to his back, returned her gaze to its customary spot (the ground), and left without another word.

Inigo watched the mare leave with despair. "Wait--" he called after her. "Come back." He walked a little bit closer to where she had left. "I was only joking!"

He turned back to the tree. Now he knew why he stared at it longingly. It was his only friend. He put his forhead up against its crusty bark, frowning a little as an ant fell in his eye. He wrapped one of his wings around himself. It's because I'm a demon, he said to himself.

Nargggrhmunchcrunchchompswallowlick.

My but oh my fresh meat tasted good.

Delano allowed himself to lick his chops and offer a fierce grin to the rotting corpse in front of him. So tender that hide - she ahd been freshly emerged into adulthood, and perfect for pouncing.

Ohyes. Much too perfect, Delano cackled inside his gruesome head. But alas, he was still hungry. Stallions were often too tough and grimy once yu got past their coats; blech, very dull. Mares - preferably ones who hadn't foaled yet - now that was the creme de la creme of all sweeter meats.

Delano rose with a fluid motion, beady red eyes glinting in his dark hovel. It was time - and he could smell one.

[gotta go so man spelling mistkaes sorreh~]

Lady sighed, feeling awful. Her stomach had oficcially gone on strike, as had most of her body. She wouldn't last much longer on this conciouse plane. She reentered the tree, fixing the demon with an expectant stare.

"Joking? Didn't sound much like that t'me."

Inigo was a little angry by now, so he yelled, his face still resting on the tree, "I have nothing to do with that godforsaken group of misfits that get their sick kicks from torture. This is why I come here!" He hesitated, then turned to face her. "Because then nobody can make me feel evil, even if I am a demon. You'd best be on your way, young missy. You must be getting hungry. But one question first; If you thought I was so evil, why didn't you run and hide the minute you saw me?"

He grinned slyly at the female and turned back towards the tree, his dark red eyes focusing at a very persistant ant that insisted on climbing right up his face.
