i'm 16.
and i want a job.
it's summer.
and i want money so i can work on clothing and get better at sewing.
fabric is so expensive~
and i'm a newb at it.

So here's whats been going on:
Johannes fabrics, i would love to work there. but due to some rude circumstances, the lady who worked there told me 'to not even bother'.
hmph.
rude.
i'll try again in the fall.

So i decided to sell some tee-shirts i'll handsomely decorate.
yay for thrift store bundle shopping!
yay for editing clothing!
i'll see how this works out. i just have to find people to sell shirts to. =/
see if they're good enough to sell at clothing store exchanges...ughhh
I also want to learn how to make jewelery.

So, is anyone else into editing shirts? (i bet!)
have any advice from the pro's?

Here's what i have in mind.

Using bleach makes a cool splatter effect
patches are fun. (you can save $$ by using old clothing or buying from thrift stores!)
frills <3 (for that extra lolita effect)

fabric paint seems a bit daring.
hm.

About the application thing and how she told you not to bother, They have a strict age policy on that. So she wasn't really being rude, she was just following criteria. And as far as the fabrics and all that, I really don't know s**t about sewing or anything. So I guess I can't really take too much part in that

well
i sew up my shirts so they fit right
b/c i have an itty bitty waste.

all you have to do, if a shirt fits everywhere else ok (neck and sleeves)
just turn the shirt inside out, put it on and on each side from under the armpits down to the bottom trace or pin the slack togher. take it off, keep it inside out and sew it up.
er
ill come back with a picture tomorrow. im tired from work

I really want to make some designs to put on t-shirts. I know someone who's father prints t-shirts. I might be able to get in contact with him so I can get some printed off. The only trouble is getting designs I am happy with.

There is a lady who makes jewelery and sells them at the cafe/gallery/carving studio where I work. She sells alot, even though I personally think everything she makes is boring. I guess telling people they are hand crafted somehow makes them want to buy it more. I imagine you could find cheap beads online somewhere, there are also stores that probally sell some beads in the closest city to you.

I would like to start sewing, but unforunally I don't know where to start. I think maybe I should patch up my old jeans that I still love, so I can wear them to parties (located in the woods, best not to wear good clothes.) I really want to make a rather large purse with some kind of silk material, possible a pretty asian-like print. The local fabric store has nothing insteresting like that, I am going to have to frequent the thrift stores to find something I imagine. I also want to bring in some off the rack clothes at the waist. I have a large bust, and a small waist. To accomondate my breasts, I usually end up with the shirt not even touching my waist.

There are lots of local art fairs where I live. You should definally keep an ear out for them. Sorry for rambling.

art fairs rule!
and no, your rambling isn't nothing to be sorry for. It's always nice to ramble, it helps get things off your chest.
hmmm sewing?
yeah! go patch up your jeans. if you dont know what to get started on..do anything! everything!
get a scrap piece of fabric and practice stitches on it! embroidery and whatnot. Beadwork, seaming, hemming, stitching. Anything and everything. It's great practice and nice for creativity.
