She cringed at the moment his tongue touched her wounds, though softly relaxed as the lapping soothed the pain. It was weird, how the same one who hurt her so, ended up healing her as well. Looking at Na through the side of her vision, she realized just how committed he was to her. Though she had no idea if he thought of her the way Red did, she had a feeling that he really was sorry for his unconcious actions.
Shifting lightly, she just shook her head mutly at his words, before remembering to speak, "No Na...it feels good...a lot better than before now that it is properly being cleaned. Thank you."

Na was glad that he was making some difference to the pain that plagued Palesa, even if it was basically helping his own inflicted wounds. Grooming always relaxed him and he almost childishly found himself facinated by how light he could get Pale's pastel green fur to be by just grooming and grooming away the blood around the wounds until they scabbed on their own.
He still maintained his contented little song, concentrating hard on the task at hand. When he was happy that Pale's leg was reasonably clear of the dried blood he nodded.
"All clean on this leg."

Palesa looked back down at her leg, taking note of all of the thing tattoo-like markings that marred her pelt as well as the larger ones that were around her tail on the side. Sighing lightly, she remembered how Red's 'break' was simply him relaxing and using her leg as a etching stone.
Moving from where she sat, she crept close to Na and gently licked his cheek in thanks, before deciding that she would once more head to the watering hole to at least heal her throat. The thirst was killing her more than the lack of food she had yesturday.

Na didn't like the markings that were scarred into Pale's leg. Many of them meant a lot to him, passive knowledge through Red. He had all but claimed her as his own in blood and the sight of it momentarily hushed Na's little song.
However the lick to his cheek warmed his heart and brought back his grin. He was so grateful that she hadn't shunned him as she ought to have.
"Hopefully those will heal up well" he added with a frown.

Palesa sent him her own grin, and nodded slowly to his words, "With time, I know my leg will be as good as new...though..." She trailed off and let out a deep sigh. Pausing, she waited for him to keep up with her before she decided to speak.
"Na, you know what happened last night, even if you wern't really...there..." She glanced to him, and wondered if he knew what could happen as a result. Keeping her silence for a while longer, she found the words hard to speak, when usually she was fine with talking aloud to him as well as strangers.

Na flicked his ears back guiltily in response to Pale's statement. Despite his tendency towards stupidity, Red did not let him go without knowing some of the more distressing things. He looked away at the ground, feeling as though he had a stone placed in his gut all of a sudden. He knew just what had gone on and for how long, red had made sure of that.
"Yes." he stated, his voice anxious. "I'm sorry. I mean. We can only hope...I'd never do that to you." he never would have inflicted what he might have done on anyone. But if cubs resulted from Red's transgressions, he was not going to abandon Pale, never.
"But if anything....does. I'll still be here."

Her eyes softened as she moved back to where he lowered his head and eyes to the ground. Settling next to him, she let her shoulder rest against his side, even if he was larger than her lean rogue form. Setting her cheek against his shoulder, a sigh escaped from her maw as she waited by his side, keeping the silence relaxed the best that she could.
"I have my suspision that Reds work wont disappear with these wounds on my leg Na," she paused and swallowed, lowering her voice to a whisper, "Though I wont know for awhile longer...there is...a chance I might be pregnant..." Though he did say he would be here by her side, she didn't want to tie him down. He had a journey, a search for his fater, and she wouldn't make him lose his dream of meeting the man and proving how wrong he was. It wasn't her place.

Na nodded, it sounded a lot worse said out loud. It wasn't that he didn't care for Pale, nor that he didn't love the pridelands, it was just that something as monumentous as cubs was typically a decision that the female had a say in.
"Red made sure I knew that possibility. I think it was one of his intentions." he didn't like being serious, it felt like he was shackling himself into red's nature when he did. He'd rather be singing and daydreaming. But there was a time and place for everything.
"But if that's the case, I want you to know that I'll take full responsibility for the cubs. I'll help feed them, look after them.." By the gods it sounded like hard work, and he barely knew how to look after himself.
The bad lion would be out to get them too. Anything touched by his blood had to be destroyed. Na would have to protect them. It terrified him but he showed no outward sign, simply gave Palesa an apologetic nuzzle. "But again, I'm sorry for putting you through this, not telling you about Red."

"It is for the better...in the long run everything will work. If cubs are an issue, we can work through it together...I can be the mother, you can be the big brother who always plays with them and teaches them how to be pure and good." It was still a soft whisper, though a smile crossed her maw nonetheless. Cubs were never on her mind, not with her travels and without a mate, but if they did happen she would have to alow it to happen.
Everything that happened was for a reason, it was for Na's well being, and Palesa needed to get that into his head.
"It was worth it, you deserve to be happy Na, and I don't blame you for anything."

Na couldn't help but be reassured by Palesa's words. He took everything at face value. Smiling and nodding, he flicked his tail happily. "If you say it will work, I beleive you. And if you ever need a paw, Na can offer his." he waved a blue paw just to illustrate this point.
However in responce to Pale's last comment he gave her the most beaming smile he'd given anyone in ages, looking almost teary with happiness.
"Y'know you are the first lion I've ever met, ever ever ever, who actually thought I deserved anything?" he gave her a greatful grin. "Thanks Pale. You deserve to be happy too and this way, Red can't hurt you ever again."

Silence met him at the words as the pale lioness just let him speak out. Marveling in his soft words and peaceful tones, she felt as if everything was working itself back to normal, even if the events still haunted her behind closed lids.
"Come on, lets go get something to drink and rest...I am not too hungry today..." With that, she moved to stand and waited by his side, hoping to make the journey to the watering hole together and to listen to his chatter like they always did. He had to have some new stories to tell.
