Recently, my mother was at a garage sale, as she tends to go to those often, and picked me up a gorgous box.
It's about 10" high, about a foot wide, and about 5" deep.

It's by a wonderful company called Lady Jayne Ltd, found at http://www.ladyjayneltd.com .

Anyways, back to my story...
In a little over a month, about a month and a week to be more exact, I'm going to a big Anime convention in the city, Anime Evolution in Vancouver.
I'm so excited!
It's a 3 day long event, and I have one dress truely lolita... although I wish to have one for each day. I have an outfit I can wear there that's more casual Lolita, but still want two other dresses.
There's one I think I may buy off of Ebay (because it looks like I'd probally screw it up XD) so I wish to make one more.
I was originally thinking or making a skirt in a pattern with similiar colours, and then making a nice BTSSB/Angelic Pretty/Metamorphose style blousse (with puffy detachable sleaves!). Either having the skirt in all green, and then purple bows/buttons or a purple pin on the shirt if I can't find a nice pattern... but I'm not sure.
Here's the skirt I was thinking of:

(Left side, light blue skirt)
With this back-side:

(I love when they "swoop up" and have all the ruffles =P)
Shirt-ish idea:

(With maybe lavender bows and zippers in the sleaves so I can make them detachable under the puffed part)

Although I'm not sure now... it doesn't seem fancy enough in compairison to my other dress, that is a full dress... not two parts...
*is confused*

But I was also thinking of then making the patterned front part of the skirt into an apron.. but the thing is -I don't have a small chest. Apron's tend to sit funny. Make me look like I have more of a belly than I actually do. I'm not exactly skinny, I am.. curvacious so I liked the idea.. but on someone else.

So, finally, the reason I made this topic was that I was hoping members of this lovely guild could give me a hand and post pictures or give me ideas of the kind of dress I should/could make to match my lovely box =3

I like both dresses and skirt/shirt sets.
I also like things that could also potiencially be found in rough pattern form so I only have to make little alterations.
Making a dress from sctrach with no pattern means I have to hang out my my Nana alot for help... which is fine, but I hate it when I make something, or get something done, and then end up not liking it gonk I'm picky (since it is my clothes) but feel bad when the person who is helping me starts to sigh because I'm being maybe a little too picky. I just want things to be perfect! gonk

For reference, I like cute/sweet Lolita. I love BTSSB, Angelic Pretty, and Metamorphose. I love patterns. I'm not a beginner or novice sewer, I'm definatly an advanced sewer although I have no idea how to properly do those beautiful Angelic Pretty fancily hemmed edges >.< I'm not thin, I do have curves although with the high-waisted Lolita dresses my large hips are often hidden. I don't have a small chest also to be noted (at a large C cup). So! Please try to refrain from posting "rooshed" tops, aprons, and things that are very tight at the hips =) I love ruffles and lace and embelishment. I'm not afraid to whip out the hot glue gun and glue a string of pearls under a bow, or bead things by hand. I'm even up for a little embroidery if needed.

Thank you all ever so much! <3

I copy + pasted this thread into another lolita guild of mine, and got many responses, and am now thinking about this dress:

But was also shown this dress that I love. It would totally match too! However, I'm not willing to shell out $300 xP

I'm thinking more like $60 for supplies which is a heck of alot more than for my other sewing endverors which all ended up good xP

I think the second dree you posted looks easier to make. you could always sew on some extra lines of lace and bows on the skirt to make more loli, but yeah, I think that one would be easiest!

Good luck! 3nodding

Sorry it took so long to get pictures!
I've been so very busy lately with work and things going on with family D=
I haven't even started and I have till the 19th of August! Eek!
I'll start it today, yesyes. I'm actually making my own pattern for the first time, so I'm a little scared, but wish me luck anyways!

Here's the fabric and things I bought:

It all ended up being about $35! The ribbon I got is not red, it's hot pink, and is velvet on one side. It doesn't really match the rest of the fabric, but as crazy as I am, I think it'll work. The fabric I was originally gonna get, after failing with my box, was this fabric's twin in blue with a little more intricate pattern.. I had found the ribbon in a better shade for that fabric, but there wasn't enough of it D=
The fabric is rather bright, but I think I can counter-act the extreme bright-ness by adding plan white socks and gloves with my straw hat. The fabric is also really silky and flowy (nice for summer) but I'm not sure how it'll look lie with the crinolin. I know it will look good without a crinolin, but since it is so thin and flowy I'm not sure if my crinolin will show through. >.< I'll just have to wait and see. I may have to make another crinolin... luckily I already have the materials for that =O

I love my velvet ribbin, but I guess having a look at yours wouldn't hurt =P

I need enough for it to go over the boobs, under the boobs, and make straps.
Thus is also needs to be strong >.<

Well, maybe if I like yours I may buy it off of you, and then use both <3
