Kill my curiosity.
I was just wondering what your guys' favorite video game was of all time. It doesn't have to be just one.
And what is your favorite console for gaming?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 30, 2006 4:06 pm

My favorite games are Super Smash Bros: Melee, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Pokemon, FF9, aaaaand Bloody Roar. But Guilty Gear is my favorite of all time.
I really like fighting games, and I'm not as keen on RPGs because I rarely have time to finish them. Without a huge gap inbetween playing times.

I'm an avid Playstation fan, and I really WANT the PS3, but the price tag is scaring me away from it. Besides, the Wii will have SSB:B! (Which will own my soul.)

*tears up* A topic that I've long neglected. Thank you, Kristy.

twisted This is going to be a longie, so sorry all...

My top five sorry, ten favorite games of all time...

10. Rad Racer (NES)
9. Final Doom (PSX)
8. Gran Turismo (PSX)
7. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
6. Super Metroid (SNES)
5. Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge (Game Boy)
4. Tetris Attack (SNES)
3. Goldeneye / Perfect Dark (N64)
2. Double Dragon 2: The Revenge (NES)
1. Mario Kart 64 (N64) < twisted Miyamoto created green shells for a racing game...? Big mistake... twisted >

Favorite console? My computer. Why? I have Game boy, Color, Advance, NES, SNES, Genesis and I think a few other random emulation systems on here... rofl

But seriously? NES. There are loads of games on that system that were never meant to be beaten unless you were shut off from the rest of the world. Journey to Silius? That's one. The original Double Dragon? Ha! Bump 'n Jump? Never... evil

Second favorite system? Sega Genesis. Never would I think that the genre displacement would spread out so far... There were great RPG's like the Phantasy Star series (Grr...) and little-known impossible racing games like Lotus Turbo Challenge and Outrun. Then when it came time for the classics to shine, they weren't even much of a challenge. The Sonic series I'll love regardless, but it posed nothing more than a joke once I figured everything out. Then there were those sidescrollers like The legend of Shinobi and Streets of Rage. These are the gaming days that I live in now...

Days like these... heart 3nodding

Now we have Halo 2 and all this other stuff. I'd hate to say it but the most recent game that's given me much of an interesting challenge was Gran Turismo 3. I don't know why all these newer games are too simple for me, but I just seem to drift from house to house and wreck other people's games whenever I get a chance. It's wierd really since I still haven't beaten Super Mario 3 and I've laid to rest Halo 2 on Legendary mode for the umpteenth time. sweatdrop

Does that seem wierd to any one of you? sweatdrop

Oh yeah, in terms of the Wii, I'm not quite digging the fact of possibly coming home from work to swing my arms around like some Jedi. rofl I'm honestly reconsidering getting the system. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, nuh-uh. However, I do see that is promising in appearance.

P.S. I still say...

I will have to agree with you on all of that! Tell me what game is this last pic from? I dont think I have ever played it. I bet I could beet it faster with a better score!

Metroid Fusion my friend. I actually stole the pic from a friend of mine and I completely forgot that Visualboy Advance had a capture image option. I think I got 2 hours and 57 minutes as my best time. If anyone managed to get better, kudos and massive amounts of respect to you. I can't get any faster - - maybe it was because of Meta-Ridley or whatever that Ridley-clone's name is... *sighs* whatever... rolleyes rofl

I haven't played Siren yet. I don't really play too many horrors either. I tend to get scared easy. sweatdrop

Don't feel bad, I've been avoiding Resident Evil Zero for who knows how long now. I started a file on my friend's Game Cube and I have yet to brave it past the first 20 minutes. I'm too creeped out to bother attempting right now. I'll let you all know when I do.

Before my 30th birthday that is...

Yes, actually, that seems COMPLETELY weird. I've beaten the living s**t out of Mario 3. The trick is to save all your P-Wings until the last tank levels (makes them a helluva lot easier) and save your clouds for the 2 extra levels plus that uber-hard castle right before Bowser's. After that it's a cake-walk to get to Bowser and beat him. Just don't use the whistles until you have (If I calculated correctly) the four P-Wings and three clouds you'll need to surpass the entire 8th world. I think I usually beat everything up until the Ice world (7th world) and then I use the whistle to get to the 8th world. Cheap? Yes. Effective? Even Yesser.

My favorite games are all modern ones. Not a huge fan of old school, though they are super-fun to delve into once you've almost completely forgotten about them. I like Halo 2, We heart Katamari (never played Katamari Damacy, though, dove straight into we heart ) and all the Pokemon games for Gameboy Advance (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Leaf Green, Fire Red, and even Dungeon Rescue Whatevers, which I played on an emulator)

I'd have to say Smash bros. 64 and Melee, Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time, Super Mario RPG, Half-Life, Age of Empires 3, Mario 2 + 3... So I'd think that my favourite platform would just be a nice computer with an emulator and a few games razz

Shin Megami Tensei series is pretty good.
Is Nocturne the newest one? I can't remember...
