I would just like to state the way the Bush administration has pulled the wool over many people's eyes. If you were to ask why we went to Iraq in the first place, many people I know would answer that it was to free the Iraqis from an oppressive leader, but that's not true. Remebr a few years back when we barged in to look for weapons of mass destruction that no one ever found? I was after the US went "Oops, guess we were wrong." that the issue changed to making the country a democracy like us, instead of the dictatorship under Saddam Hussein. Now, don't get me wrong, I think it's good that we took Saddam out of power, but the US went about it in a way completely unnecessary and in benefit to Bush. It seems to me that taking out Saddam became a cover up for Bush's mistake about the weapons of mass destruction.
However, now that we were/are there, I agree that we need to stay until the mess is cleaned up. I just wish it wasn't our loved ones cleaning up the blunder of the Bush administration...

Azana Brown Starlock does have some points... I remember my mother saying that we should have done this back when Bush Sr. was in office...we were already there, and we would have good reason to AND backing from many, many other nations. Going it alone and at the wrong time was our major problem logistically. Ethically is another matter. But I really don't want to get into this huge debate, which is why I gave my mother's view. Well, your mother does have some good points. Though I mainly blame the Bush administration for the Middle East Blunder, there is a part of the blame reserved for the American people. When we first went into Iraq, the general populace was behind Bush in his decision. Then, when it turned out to be one huge failure, they began bad-mouthing Bush and the whole operation. It annoys me most when people who once supported the idea and called out for intervention in Iraq, begin trashing Bush without even considering that they made the same mistake. If I had supported Bush, I'd be kicking myself thinking, "Man, I was stupid. Sorry Bush, guess we both made a mistake." However, I don't have this problem as I never supported his plan in the first place. I thought it was a bad idea, and I was only in 6th grade at the time it began! Ok, I've been going on and on I know. The long and short of it is that it's not just the fault of the President and other government officials; it's also the fault of th general public, and we need to keep that in mind...

Looks at the 9/11 inncident back in 2001. I wasn't even aware about that until I went to school, and my history class was playing it on GMA. About 4 hours after it happened... I was hurt to see that, yes, but immidiatly a month later, the people in power went about making a new amendment which mostly counteracts the first amendment. The tears of America made that amendment where it was. I don't know if anyone notices this, but when people are suffering, they would agree with ANYTHING. I see this happening. In my oppinion, when I have went into the millitary, I was going in to serve my country, not the government rich bastards.

Well first off. Bush is a b*****d who is running over peoples freedoms. He tried in his first campain to reinstate the draft. Which he wasn't allowed to do. He had a fourteen year old girl arrested because she stated that she wished he would die. The most damning evidance (SP?) of all is he himself was drafted but he ran off. Because his daddy had money he didn't have to fight in Vitname (SP?) while the poor boys (My uncles) were off fighting for their country in a war that was completely useless he was sipping Pinacoladas (SP?) and screwing cheap whores. No offense to anyone else but Bush is without a doubt the worst president we have ever had. He is running this country into the ground all because he wants to prove to the world that he has.....So not finishing that statement. This Iraq war thing should never have happened. He should never been allowed to do what he is doing. Just watch and see. Before his reign is over America will no longer be one of the most powerful nations on the planet. America will fall just like Rome and Egypt did. Just watch and see.

Isn't Bush in his second term already? The mind boggles, but clearly he has a lot of support..... That said, grieving people are easily manipulated, and September 11 was truly horrendous. However, Sept 11 type occurences happen worldwide all too often.... just unusual for it to happen in the USA. Dead people in one country is a bad reason to kill more people in a different county, and at the expense of your army too!

That pisses me off, mostly because they said troops are suppose to come back in October, yet he's going back in October. And also because its taking an important part of his life away. But what can i do? basically nothing."/

Your best friend signed a contract and agreed to kill or die for her country in that contract. Its your friend's fault first and foremost that she is going to Iraq. Its a war. Its what military is used for. Want to avoid that? Dont ******** join the military. When 9/11 happened, Damn near everyone was screaming war and retaliation. Then they seemed ******** shocked that *GASP* American soldiers were dying because of it. Yes, things are in process for having soldiers brought back. However, that isnt something that can be done in one swift go. It takes time and money to bring them back, and its done in stages. Bush's term is almost up. Quit whining and just make sure you carefully concider EVERY ******** candidate for EVERY ******** position over the course of the next elections. And not just for presidency, but for EVERY government position. Local politicians, Congress, ect. It ALL influences the outcome. Not all of the current crap is Bush's fault, or did you forget how the government works? Its not a one job. And if you dont vote, dont bother ******** whining.

Lucifer Itachi Some of you may not think this is gonna affect you, but it will. for some of us it already has. Our troops in the farce known as the Iraq war are dying at a rate of up to a dozen a day. Why? They're outgunned and undersupplied. our republican congress has the nerve to deny the military, no, your brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, parents, cousins and family friends the body armor and weaponry they need to effectively carry out their duties? People are dying, doesn't anyone care? My biggest fear is them imposing a draft. I'm 16, in a little over a year, i have to register for said draft. Don't get me wrong, i would gladly die to protect this country. but if it came down to that, i'd want to die for something i really believe in, not someone's "pet war". But what about North Korea? well, they never had nuclear weapons until after sanctions were imposed over a trivial treaty infraction that was labelled later as a "clerical error" and no, warheads weren't their original goal. first, it was to provide power plants. then our president went and pised off the already unstable communist leader, so now nuclear war is in the back of everyone's minds once again. Please keep in mind that i am merely expressing an opinion. i don't mean to offend anyone. i'm also very interested in what your reactions to the current issues happen to be. Merry meet, and Merry part. Blessed be to all of you. 1. If they were under-supplied, its due to the Democrats and idiots pushing for military budget cuts. 2. They are NOT dying at a rate of a dozen per day. 3. They are not out-gunned. 4. The casualties of this war are actually not that high. 5. Its a war, people die. These people signed a contract stating they were willing to fight and die for their country without question. They are asked this in person PRIOR to swearing in. PRIOR to signing a written form of concent and PRIOR to officially signing the contract. 6. Dont spread fallacious propaganda about the war. The media does enough of that. This kind of propaganda causes much more problems for the military and government. Its not helping. Its making it worse. As for North Korea, things were working toward the current situation prior to Bush. Its not because of the current president. Its because of past events.
