1)Why asatru? 1.a) - After playing with the Futhark, and receiving dreams of Patron Characters, soon after each session (( I figured that there is something to learn, which sounded useful and practical for life and everything else one chooses to apply themselves with.))
2)What led you to asatru? 2.a ) Learned that Asatru, have done a lot of "pathworking" through dream studies, and know how to turn the human body, into it's own medicine cabinet. That kind of knowledge is so priceless. The closest is being able to learn some mediation techniques to find one's way out of life's problems with a creative solution.
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru? 3.a) learned the term "Monothesium" from someone who studied asatru, meaning many things come from one center. "Panpolythesim" as many directions that will lead to their own center.
4)How long have you been an asatruar? 4.a)- never given a chance.
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? 5.a) - It's more like a Culture / Language barrier. One you learn the custom, and how things are done for a certain reason - being that if you lived in Sunny Mexico, but haven't experienced a cold snowy chill of winter... you dress accordingly, and realize that the environment asks for someone to pay attention, and adapt...
6)Do you belong to a kindred 6.a ) Not aware of it at the moment.
7)Do you have a patron deity? 7.) Not that I know of.
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not? 8.) If the person is ready, - be it to learn a skill, that chance presents itself.
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? 9.a ) Galdr, means to sing / enchant - right ? Personally, I tried to do some of those songs, and felt strange when singing them. My voice would get me rejected from Simon from American Idol... but it seems that I'm getting listened to. Mostly, I just roll the Runes ( Futhork ) and just listen to what's being asked.

1)Why asatru? Because I was interested in mythology and paganism all my life, and when I discovered polytheistic reconstructionism, Asatru was simply the unique religion that fits completly with my own beliefs and personality. And because my ancestors were from Northern Italy, but I didn't know that they were related to norse paganism until... some months ago xd
2)What led you to asatru? Wicca, unfortunately confused In some part of my life I thought that all the ancient pagan religions were dead and Wicca was the only religion in present day that payed attention to ancient mythological Gods. But then I discovered reconstructionism 3nodding
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru? Well... not too much, since I believed in many Gods and land spirits before I knew Asatru. The thing that changed was not my world view, but my view on religion, I mean... now I know that I don't need knee and change my lifestyle (you know, don't have sex, don't eat X thing, don't kill cockroaches, etc.), to be "liked" by Divinity.
4)How long have you been an asatruar? I was involved in polytheistic mythology since I was little, in paganism since 2004 and in Asatru since 2006. But I decided to start to practice the religion officially just some months ago (a few weeks before discovering the relationship between my italian heritage with norse paganism!)
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? Well... I don't have heathen (online) friends, and I don't know any heathen in real life, so I don't know how they see me. But I suppose that some heathens could be affected because I'm homosexual, and I know that vikings were a bit homophobes (with the argr thing and that...)
6)Do you belong to a kindred? No... but I know that there's a few kindreds in Argentina, I'm going to see if I can join someday...
7)Do you have a patron deity? I think that I'm too... "newbie" to have a patron deity yet.
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not? Because I started to practice Asatru officially just some months ago and I'm not that experienced. But Bragi or Skadi seems to fit me well...
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? I can read the runes (in fact, it's the UNIQUE divination method in which I don't suck), and I'm interested in the rest, but I must learn a lot...

1)Why asatru?
I blame Odin. My own culpability in accepting what he offered is immaterial.
2)What led you to asatru?
I sought religion over a four or five year period, gradually narrowing down to paganism and then further to the Norse/Germanic gods.
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru?
I can now see the orlog and wyrd more broadly; my honoring of the wights has profoundly altered how I view the world.
4)How long have you been an asatruar?
About 11 years.
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you?
I think people forget how close I am to Odin and Loki because I'm female, but that's to my advantage so I don't complain much.
6)Do you belong to a kindred
Yes, Raven Kindred South.
7)Do you have a patron deity?
I am closest to Odin, Loki, Forseti, and Eir. I'm trying to get closer to Thor, Freya, and Frigga. I am increasingly uncomfortable with the concepts of patron and matron religiously.
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not?
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft?
I cut runes and pathwalk. I also cast runes, though of course that is a modern application of them.

1)Why asatru? I originally started into Paganism looking into Wicca, and after deciding that wasn't my bag, I began meditating on the different pantheons and felt warmth and welcome from the Norse gods.
2)What led you to asatru? I think my first answer kind of answers this too.
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru? I'm not entirely sure; I think my views are still being changed and shaped 3nodding
4)How long have you been an asatruar? Only a few months now...I don't even think that, as I still just consider myself a Norse Pagan.
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? Not really.
6)Do you belong to a kindred? No, but I'd really like to. The Ohio-Michigan area isn't rich in anything except eclectic pagan groups.
7)Do you have a patron deity? Not really. I have those I feel closer to than others, but I wouldn't call them patron deities
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not? None have really chosen me yet.
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? Not yet. I am very interested in runecasting, although magic-working doesn't really seem to interest me too awful much.

1)Why asatru? I began searching for a pantheon that felt right and when I started reading about Norse Gods and Goddesses I felt like it was right.
2)What led you to asatru? I have always been interested in Germany and I also love writing. When I was looking at the different Gods and Goddesses of different pantheons I kept coming back to Bragi.
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru? It hasn't changed much because I'm just starting out.
4)How long have you been an asatruar? Only about a month.
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? No. Even with witches, pagans, and wiccans I've found that many treat me the same as any beginer because many of them remember how hard it was for them to find their way.
6)Do you belong to a kindred No, there don't seem to be any around me.
7)Do you have a patron deity? Not yet but I feel closest to Bragi.
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not? I'm just starting out.
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? Not yet because I'm still learning.

Q: Why Asatru? A: I'm an atheist actually, but with Asatruar tendencies. I'm very schizophrenic about it. I recognize that a person doesn't need to explain the natural world through supernatural means, but I'm still drawn to the faith and can't bring myself to simply dismiss it.
Q: What led you to Asatru? A: Compulsive curiosity and genuine interest.
Q: How has your world view changed since you came to Asatru? A: Much more complex, but a little more 'whole'.
Q: How long have you been an Asatruar? A: Depends on how you wish you view it, I suppose.
Q: Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? A: Not my age or gender, but being gay always makes you a little hesitant when meeting new people. You're never sure how they're going to react.
Q: Do you belong to a kindred? A: Nope, don't even know of any.
Q: Do you have a patron deity? A: Yes
Q: If so then who and why? If not then why not? A: Skadi is who I pledged myself to some years ago. She's the model of everything I strive to be. Independent, strong, clever, beautiful, and respected. She's the one I feel the strongest bond with. I like to think I have a connection with Ull also. Like many others here, I believe I have a bond with Odin, although it's not nearly as well explored.
Q: Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? A: Outside of asking for answers and finding them in everyday life in one form or another, no.

1)Why asatru? Because I feel a connection and a freedom of sorts to practice it how I feel I should. There are ceremonies of course but no rigid Sunday mass schedule for me. Over all though, it helps make life a bit more enjoyable to live it with some faith.
2)What led you to asatru? My very good friend, who I will be showing this guild to. He is new to Gaia but he has been a follower of the religion much longer than I have.
3)How has your world view changed since you came to asatru? I'm starting to question my priorities much more. Things such as family ties and history were more or less in the background before I started learning but the more I read, hear and see about Asatru the more I feel the need to reevaluate what I deem to have importance.
4)How long have you been an asatruar? I don't feel I have enough knowledge to run around proclaiming to be a follower. I would feel very ignorant if after I expressed my religious views someone asked a question I could not answer regarding it. For me its something more gradual that happens with the more experience I have. There won't ever be a set day I feel I know enough and from then on out have a new found feeling about it.
I think we can all safely say that someone who has read Edda is not instantly in tune with the religion or community therein, just the same as a few bible scriptures cannot make someone a devout follower, and I want to know as much as I can.
5)Do you feel that your age or gender has affected the way other heathens see you? Well not Heathens in particular but yes, Christians and Pagans alike sometimes view me negatively because of age (17). Since I'm young many assume I'm only interested in it to be rebellious and go against society. Many pagans just see, at first glance, as they do the goth kids who dream of being 'witches'.
6)Do you belong to a kindred Sadly no. I plan to seek one out at some point, if only to experience what it would be like to belong to one. Where I live there is a very strong Conservative Christian influence and other religions find it very hard to thrive.
7)Do you have a patron deity? Not at the present.
cool If so then who and why? If not then why not? Pretty much the same as before. Before I claim to have a patron deity I want to be secure in my understanding of the faith. You don't go to the horse track for the first time and instantly pick out your 'favorite jockey' and I will put a lot more stock in a deity. ^_^
9)Do you practice any kind of divination such as runecasting, galdr, seidr, or spae craft? I can't say I have, though it is very intriguing to say the least.
