thrift stores. I got this really awsome ruffle neck blouse at Savers in Madison, Wisconsin for 12 bucks. I ruined it trying to dye it black though. Listen when they say no dying polyester >.<. stressed

Thrift stores would be my best suggestion, too. You coudl also look in other stores, but they're harder to find and much more expensive.

Discount stores like Ross, Marshall's and TJ-Maxx might/should have some.

Since poof sleeved shirts are in style now, its easy to find solid color shirts w/ loli sleeves at places like Target, Kohls, Mervyns, etc. You buy the shirts plain and loli them up until they suit your individual taste! Thats what i usually do for loli shirts, and how i did the top for my A-Kon loli ensemble, and i got oodles of compliments on it! heart Charlotte Russe is also a great place to buy corsets and stuff, and they're pretty cheap (a nice corset for $30! i freaked out! heart ). so its easy enough to find/create loli tops, if you know where to look! wink 3nodding

Well, frills and lace are usually pretty good! Look for puffed sleeves, peter pan collars, elaborate cuffs and collars, feminine details, period clothes, and anything that looks like it could be worn by a dolly! heart 3nodding

I like to sew my own lolita. It's very relaxing, a cool hobby, you make them look however you want, and it's also fun! 3nodding
In fact, I've never *bought* any lolita stuff in my life... wink

I think thrift stores and Charlotte Russe are the best places to go. I got this awesome layered lacy skirt at a thrift store for like $5, and Charlotte Russe has corsets, and these button-down lacy ruffly shirts for aorund $30.

Thrift stores! Most thrift stores will have at least a few racks of button-down shirts. If you can find one in the right size/color, then you can touch it up with lace, ribbons, buttons, and whatnot to make it look very lolita-esque! ^_^

ill have to agree with everyone else. Thrift stores are the cheapest way to lolita. they sell some really old stuff that its great. I got a black lacey shirt that looks like it was an old lady's shirt from the 70's but it still looks awsome with accesories

You'd be surprised at the things you'd find in normal stores. I have this cute ruffly short-sleeved blouse that I got at a place called "Label Outlet" (some store with loads of crap in it) in the local mall. If you have a Winners that's also a good bet. I also got this cream-coloured, ruffled Victorian-looking blouse at Sears of all places. Also at Mariposa I found a cute blouse that has big flared sleeves with ruffles at the edges. Kind of hard to describe.

If you ever come by the Mall of America, all skinny girls must check out Forever 21. ;___; It's kinda like a thrifty clothing store or something. They have loads upon loads of different tops and bottoms. They're arranged only by color, so shopping there can take HOURS. I've seen some really adorable skirts and tops that I'd really like to get for myself.... but alas... remember that I said skinny ^^;; *is very NOT skinny* Their sizes only go up to about a 10, 13 if you're really lucky, and I wear 18 ;___; I shop there every so often with my mom, who's a tiny little thing. I simply love looking around ^^;
