That's my favored type on Gradius V as well.

Hey, everyone loves the directional laser. It makes the game sooo much easier. Beat the rotation by a long shot. But I edit and put spread bombs instead.

My strategy in every Gradius game is to get 1 speed up, then go for missles, finish my options, laser, 1 more speed up, then get the force field. When I get it, I collect the power-up items until it's on the force field again and wait until it's gone from too many hits, then just get it back just as I lose it. It works all the time.

Speed up(1, sometimes more depends on the level), Missile, Double(vertical), Option, force field.
