Chenza could see that her children were getting older before her eyes. This was not a good thing at all. For one thing, that meant that she was quickly becoming an old mother. For another thing, it was making her wish that she could go out and find some gentleman so that, when all of her babies were gone, she could have more children to take care of. That thought was always dismissed when she caught her son Kijini'leli doing something stupid again. As much as she warned him about the big lions, as much as she scolded him for playing his silly pranks, he continued on with his misbehavior. Frankly, she was starting to worry that she had created a pup much like his father had been. Kiji was a kind pup, in spite of everything...but what would he be like when he discovered females were more than something to torment?
Kijini'leli, oblivious to his mother's musings, was getting rather bored of sitting at this water hole that his mother seemed to love so much. It was water...and there was less of it each day that they drank some. Really, there wasn't anything going on whatsoever. He had to resort to staring at a swaying tree branch for entertainment, and there were only so many was a tree branch could sway.
The multicolored pup turned his head to the grasslands around him, praying that he'd find something to investigate. And possibly trick. Or maybe just stare at. Who knew?
