So my question is do you think all doomsday prophecies occur at once? you know Ragnarok the great rapture and the mayan cataclism?

Heilsan Allir,
Have had much discussion on this with traditionalist Seid Folk and such, and one of the best comments came from someone whom knew a traditional South American spirit worker, and paraphrasing said:
"What do you do when you've finished with last years calendar?"
Indeed, this is how I see the whole 2012 thing. We've got people panicking over nothing. Some real research on the concept will see that the 2012 is the ending date for the Mayan Long Count Calendar (yes, that means they had short count Calendars as well), which is tied into a specific celestial event which happens every few thousand years (sorry for the paucity of definitive information but some basic research will find you factual websites dealing with the topic).
Ultimately, we need to live our lives prepared for things to change as much as they will, on a day to day level. Something like 2012 is only a focus, a bit like the year 2000 and the year 1000. Both had a mass of hysteria attached, and what happened... Does that mean that we shouldn't be prepared in our day to day lives, well, certainly not. But rather than preparing for the end of the world, we should be prepared for storms, government problems, supply problems, etc. Live each day to the full, and let the long term take care of itself.

I do believe that the hype over the end of the world causes more harm than good....
...but 2012 should be interesting just considering the astronomical phenomenons that should happen that year...

Well, I very much doubt that the world is going to end in 2012. People have been predicting doomsday scenarios throughout history. Terrible things happen, obviously. But, I don't think they're anymore likely to happen in 2012 than any other year.
On a more serious note though, what are (if there are any?) the modern views of Ragnarök and Valhalla? I like to think the gods evolve with their people, so shouldn't the terms and conditions (lol xp ) for being accepted into a favorable afterlife change also?

If you're really worried about zombies just read the zombie survival guide. The most important thing to remember is aim for the head.
But I have to agree, the end will come when it comes and we can't do anything to stop it so just focus on what we can change.

Heilsan Allir,
I am less inclined to view Ragnarok as being set in stone, as being a prophecy. For those of us whom work with Wyrd, there is an understanding that at some point in time something like Ragnarok becomes pretty much unavoidable, but up until that time, we have a choice, and it is our choices, how we live our lives which create the web of Wyrd and as such, we can choose to engage in actions which either bring Ragnarok closer, or actions which keep Ragnarok as a possibility.
Valhol is a place one can choose to go, in other words, one is given the choice of whether or not one goes to Valhol. Now, I don't at this stage have a fully realised and referenced argument for this, being at the moment more along the line of a general theory of mine based on study and reading to date, as well as intuitive process. Although I am sure that at some stage of matters, things will solidify in this regard, and I'll end up writing something about the whole thing which explains my reasoning and such much better. For the moment it's purely a personal theory up until a time when I write something far more well formed than a basic theory.

My view of Ragnork isn't a literal one. I think that the prophecy was meant to show a near distinciton of our faith. And that our revival is a sign that Baldur has returned.
