My meds are causing some horrible side effects. I don't like them, and I'd rather be depressed than have these side effects. Do they ever stop or get better? I've been taking meds for over a month and a half, and they were upped about three weeks ago, and I'm still having side effects....

Some meds do decrease side-effects after a longer period of taking them. Three weeks at one level is not long enough for your body to get used to most maintainance meds. If you want to stop your meds, talk to your doctor about it, and be firm, but make sure you get your doctor's help. Stopping antidepressants can be dangerous, and you'll need your doctor's guidance and observation.

You didn't mention exactly what they are, but if whatever it is is that bad, call your shrink right away, he/she might tell you to go back to your previous dosage. Depending on what medication it is, it might take longer for the side effects to go away.

I'm on 100mg of Zoloft a day. I know that's not much, compared to what others are taking, but it has no sort of effect at all, except for the side effects.
I do go to my doctor on the 13th. He said that if it wasn't working, that he'd try something else.

Your body probably needs time to get use to the new meds. If the side effects have not decreased then you should go see your doctor right away.

I'm supposed to be regularly taking 900mg of Elavil for my bipolar, but I only take them sporadically. I think Elavil is basically the same thing as another bipolar med that I can never remember the name of. Starts with a D....Correct me if I'm wrong...Dorazepam? or.. s**t I completely forget. It was multi-syllabic, but most meds are, so I dunno if that helps.

Maybe you could switch your medication to something similar.
My medication makes me feel kind of sick, and I can't eat much, but I need to lose weight!

I was on Risperdal for Schizophrenia but it made me really ridgid and my apitite like tripled and I began to lactate. So now I'm on Seriquil.
