Civet Moon: I have personal experience with repression. After I was raped, I forgot about it entirely for a year and a half until I accidentally went back to the place where it had occured. If that's not repression... I don't know what is.
Though I haven't re-remembered stuff, I also belive in it. My grandpa died when i was 6. You'd think I would remember at least one of the following
- knowing he was going to die
- bieng told he had died
- telling my sister he had died
- visitng my grandmother and him not being there
- my family grieving
- being sad about his death
Nope. None of that. I want to remember more of him, and remember what it's like when someone you love dies.
Also, I didn't know my Aunt had died until about a year afterweards. I'm certain my parents would have told me something like that.
I think our stories are proof.
