I have been searching and searching for information on either Depersonalization or Derealization. I have found a few helpful sites and a couple of books, but not much. If anymore has any information or knows any sites, books, or anything, that would be very helpful. Thanks. mrgreen

Hey hickinbottom,
I've done a bit of reading on depersonalization and derealization, and I recognize quite a few symptoms in myself, though only sometimes, not all of the time.
Anyway, I have had a very hard time finding information on it as well, but I do think I have a couple of links, I'll look for them and get back to you.

Thanks Civet! mrgreen One day I came across a description and it was like BAM, that's what I have! It's good to know there's a name for it, but I've had a lot of trouble finding information on it. I was thinking that maybe there could be another name for it that I don't know of?

Here is a link to one page, I haven't read it in months, so I don't remember the exact content: Depersonalization OverviewHere is another: DPSelfHelp.comI am unclear on whether or not those with these disorders have the symptoms all the time, or just some of the time. Do you know, hickinbottom? I am aware that many people dissociate from time to time, but I don't think most people do so at seemingly random intervals for extended periods of time.

Yeah, I can answer that. Ok, basically everybody gets dissociated on a very minor level from time to time. Such as when you watch a movie or read a book and you get kinda 'lost in what you're doing'. That's completely normal. It's only classified as a disorder when it occurs often enough that it's interferring with your life on some level, such as socially, etc.
